The overall experience from the estimating, description of the work scope to the scheduling was handled courteously, and professionally. They responded in a timely fashion and made sure we were satisfied at each step, including the smallest detail. The work crews for SOL were all very hard working, polite and friendly. They made sure to clean up after themselves and made the work site ready for the next step. They met the overall schedule perfectly. Aaron called nearly every day and his supervisor for the painting process came by to check on the quality and progress. Any left over details or concerns we had were addressed immediately. Working with SOL made a difficult time very manageable. Even though my wife and I felt we were camping out in our own house for short periods of time as the painting process and the carpeting process took over large portions of the house, it was all manageable because they met their time schedules. Eating breakfast out on the patio for a couple of days isn't all that bad, is it? In the end we now have a terrific new feeling house, great carpets, great looking interior paint, plus a lot of old stuff out of the way (and sent to Good Will). I would highly recommend SOL Constructions to anyone.

I would highly recommend using Sol Construction. They have helped me remodel my bathroom and an extra bedroom. They also replaced some redwood siding to match the existing siding and they helped me update my kitchen without doing a complete remodel. They arrived each day on-time and they completed the work on schedule. The quality of work was good and they helped me come up with design solutions. I never worried about having them in my home and they were always pleasant. I appreciated how hard they worked and would use them again.

They were very professional; they had uniforms. They were on time. They gave a detailed estimate with breakdowns and itemization of labor and materials.

I called Sol Construction to replace the drywall in the living room, dining room and family room. They came promptly and worked around my schedule and finished the job even faster than estimated.The finished job looks beautiful and they matched the other older walls that were not ripped out and no one will ever know that it was replaced. The were very professional and even cleaned up so no dust and dirt was left anywhere. I will definitely call them again if I have work to be done.

They were very knowledgeable. Josh was the owner. They discussed and gave me ideas and suggestions for the bathroom. I had a list of things that I was looking for and was concerned. They took that into consideration. They are working for me. I would definitely use them in the future.

After a leak destroyed a portion of our kitchen cabinets and drywall and subsequent bad experiences with other contractors, we went on Angie's List and found SOL CONSTRUCTION and are now so very happy that we did. Everyone, from Aaron and his partner Josh to their team, was punctual, professional, courteous, highly skilled and knowledgable. Aaron worked with us with the estimate and planning. The estimates gave options by listing each portion of the project so we could pick and choose what work we wanted done. He gave honest, practical advice when we were choosing materials (ex. what materials were more kid-friendly and durable for our home), and we were never pressured to purchase materials or do work we didn't want or couldn't afford. He was also very patient with us (considering we changed our minds back and forth a couple of times on a couple details throughout the planning). He figured out what we wanted and what we could afford and worked with that. The estimate form was very helpful in planning it all out so we could get the most for our money. We ended up opting to purchase the cabinets ourselves, but they picked them up and inspected them the day they started installation, which made it easier on us. By the end, we got an amazing kitchen and still ended up coming in under budget because we were charged exactly what was estimated. With the remodel itself, you could tell Josh and the team, Joe and John, take pride in their work. Punctual and prepared, they came early and finished each day's work thoroughly and on time, considerate of our own. Everything was neat, straight, flush, properly done with those small finishing touches that make a big impact on the quality of the work, and cleaned afterwards. Speed and quality do not always go hand in hand, so we were constantly amazed by finding them work so fast and still do such a great job. You can't tell that the cabinets are so-called 'lower end' because they installed them so seamless and straight despite the crooked walls in our 30 year old condo. After they installed the hardware and fixtures, the cabinets look better in our home than they did in the showroom. Design and worksmanship is about the details, and they certainly took care of the little things so we didn't have to. Inevitably as with any project, issues did come up, but Sol Construction resolved those issues quickly and with such professionalism, we could tell they really wanted us to be happy. They were also thoughtful in other little ways: returning appliances back in place so we could have it over the weekend; we were doing our own tile work that got nudged during an appliance move, and they fixed it no problem; and they were even good humored about our kid coming in to the kitchen pretending to ?supervise? them. Even, though we had a very limited budget, they worked on our project with the same level of care and importance as a big one. From our past experience with other contractors, we were prepared for unexpected problems or difficulties, but Sol Construction made it so easy we were in near shock. Essentially, we just picked out what we wanted and they took care of everything else. They were not just what we needed but were everything we hoped for in a contractor, going above and beyond for their clients. They communicated effectively by returning calls immediately, patiently gave direct answers to our multitude of questions, and in turn asked us many questions to ensure that they knew exactly what we wanted, but most importantly, they completed the job with excellence. They followed up with us later to make sure everything worked good and that we were happy, and we can't say enough how happy we are. We are recommending them to our good friends and family for any remodeling and definitely going with them for any more future projects.

Frankly, I think the job just wasn't big enough for them to travel this far.

The owners and crew at Sol Construction were excellent in the way they managed our project, provided feedback throughout and were efficient and timely in their time-line. Here's how they operate, Aaron and Josh are the owners of the company: Aaron seems to focus on the business side of things, you'll be working with him first in getting a full understanding of the project. He will give you guidance and feedback as to what can be done, what can't be done and the most cost effective(or coolest) way to do things. He's very responsive, typically sending you full itemized quotes by email within a day or two of meeting. He breaks down and itemizes all parts of the project and gives you specific cost, so you get a full understanding of where your money's going, which allows you to make adjustments as necessary. Once project scope/specifications/pricing is finalized with Aaron, you'll be working with Josh in actually executing the project. Josh works as the hands on, daily project manager of the company. Josh grew up with a father that was building inspector, so this guy really knows his stuff and knows exactly what needs to be done so the project is done correctly and to code. As a matter of fact, we had a city inspector come in after we had moved an electrical panel inside a bathroom. The city inspector marked this as a code violation and required us to move it back to the original space, which would have messed up quite a bit of the project. Josh, knowing that the city inspector was wrong, went to city hall and appealed the inspector's note and had it reversed. How great is that? This allowed us to move the project forward and saved us quite a bit of money and time if we had to do otherwise. Now, this isn't to say that the project went perfectly, there were bumps along the road. But when's the last time that you heard a construction project going perfectly and exactly as planned? What's important here is how responsive these guys are to issues that arise. They are excellent in their responsiveness and fix items quickly and without complaint. Sol Construction's crew is well-versed in a wide variety of skill sets, their chosen sub-contractors are refined and excellent in their respective trades and their overall business model and operating efficiency is excellent compared to a lot in the industry. Overall, I would recommend them.

The guys at Sol Construction are all very friendly, reliable and professional. I spoke on the phone with many companies and ultimately decided to have Sol Construction come out because Aaron was so friendly and knowledgeable over the phone. We were able to get an appointment fairly quickly, and when Aaron came out he was prompt, professional, and was able to answer all our questions. We received the quote the very next day and were happy with the price (best price out of 3 quotes we got). It took a couple weeks to order the windows and the only hiccup was when the windows arrived, 5 were retro-fit instead of nail-ons. I got very worried with the mix up but Josh was very calm and assured me everything would be ok. Needless to say, he and his team were able to fix the situation quickly and everything worked out. It took a few days to complete the installation of the windows, including the re-stucco job. They did a good job keeping the dust out of the house and cleaned up everything once they were done . A couple days after everything was done and the stucco fully dried, we noticed it was a bit bumpy, so we called the guys up and they were happy to come out again and touch it up. Overall, I am very satisfied with our experience and the windows --they look great from both inside and outside. There were little bumps along the way, as with any home improvement project, but both Josh and Aaron handled themselves very well, and always managed to exceed our expectations. We will definitely use them again.

They are very nice people. I decided to go with someone else because the people that I used were recommended to me and also they worked hand in hand with my decorator. So that worked better. The guy from Sol Construction was very kind. He was very nice. He was very thorough. He was a little slow on getting back to me on the estimate. He had all kinds of excuses for that. That was a little frustrating. That’s kind of why I didn’t go with them. Meanwhile the other guy came with the decorator and it ended up being easier to work with. She could give him what she wanted them to do. The guy from Sol Construction was very good. He was a wonderful young man. I had a good experience with him except for his untimeliness in getting back to me. I would consider using his services again in the future.

Overall, we were very pleased to work with Sol Construction. After interviewing several general contractors, we chose his company because we wanted someone who would be hands-on throughout the project and who could also create the half bath of our vision. We were most pleased in our dealings with Aaron, the co-owner of Sol Construction. He was friendly, courteous, professional and available by both phone and email. He was prompt in his replies as well. This made it convenient for us to contact him by either method and we did so daily with updates and questions about the remodeling project. He was also great in his dealings with the city, pushing through the somewhat bureaucratic process of obtaining permits for a historic home. For this process, Aaron also drew up the plans for the remodeling project and provided us with a copy he submitted to the city. He did a great job handling this aspect of the project. For the remodel, Sol Construction moved gas lines, added electrical outlets, and added plumbing lines that had to be connected to our sewer line. Aaron also provided us with contacts and businesses to help us furnish our bathroom. For example, when we needed a granite top for our vanity, Aaron found us a beautiful piece of granite that fit our decor and budget. They also did an excellent job on the selection and installation of our tile, providing us with options and input from their previous jobs, which helped us settle on our final choice. We also enjoyed the Sol Construction crew. They were friendly, professional, and interested in doing a good job on our home. The only part of our project that was subcontracted out was the plumbing. The only drawback we had was the attention to detail in the final portions of the project. We inspected their work daily and found that, at times, the work was not quite up to standard. This included paint a patch that did not match our walls, a heating vent that was inadvertently disconnected by the plumber, exterior repair of the siding that did not match the rest of the house, and the installation of our washer and dryer (in particular the gas lines and the removal of moving bolts). To Sol Construction?s credit, when these were pointed out to Aaron, his crew apologized each time and was cheerfully back the next day making the repairs and changes that brought the finished work up to our standards. As a whole, the project itself took a little over two weeks to complete and was only one day over their projected timeline. They did a good job sticking to their proposed contract and budget, and we are very pleased with the room now. In general, we were happy to work with Sol Construction and look forward to working with them again in any future remodeling project we will have.

They are the best in the business. I have owned my old home, which requires tons of attention, for 18 years and they are the best of the dozen contractors I have hired over the years for roofing, drywall, etc. On top of being very presentable, handsome and cheerful men, they are hardworking, duty-bound and very concerned with making their customers happy. They went to bat for me with Allstate Insurance when the insurance company did not want to pay for siding repairs that obviously happened due to the rain. They restored my million-dollar mini-estate in the hills to a grandeur it did not even know when it was build in 1939!

Great job,and it only took about 20 minutes.One of the owners came out himself to repair it.I would definately recommend them again! He was on time, very personable,and efficient. I decided to paint the repair myself, so that's why the low price,I think. Great service!

I especially appreciated Aaron's patience in educating me and answering my numerous questions regarding the available choices in door types and hardware. He was also willing to accomodate my tight timing to order and install the door before year-end to qualify for the more favorable Energy Tax Credit. The install went smoothly and ahead of my schedule. A couple weeks after the install, I expressed one concern. Josh promptly came back and made a minor adjustment to fix it.

The existing skylight and combo had begun to leak and also resulted in excessive run-off into my backyard during heavy rains. I am delighted that I found Sol Construction to solve my problem. They gave me a competitive quote to eliminate the skylight, do a roof fill-in to match my existing tile roof and install a new traditional window. Although the job was relatively small, it required multiple skills (demo, framing, roofing, window install, stucco, drywall, texture, paint to match existing ceiling and walls) and 9 days to complete. I was impressed with the firm, quality of work, and very pleased with the outcome of the project: prompt response to my initial call; itemized estimate; began the job promptly; owners (Aaron and Josh) monitored the work daily, addressed my concerns, and kept me updated on the next day's agenda; workers showed up on time every day, were personable and considerate, and cleaned up at the end of each day. The job was completed right on schedule. I will not hesitate to use them in the future.

Aaron and Josh, who are the owners of the business, provided us with a very detailed cost estimate, which was very reasonable compared to an estimate we received from another company. Once we reached an agreement, they started immediately and every aspect of the project was done in an extermely timely manner. They worked everyday and on some weekends to finish every project ahead of schedule. Both Aaron and Josh kept us informed of all aspects of the project with daily phone calls, emails and even text messages. We are extremely happy with the results and recommend Sol Construction for any type of home remodel or construction.
