Description of Work: My 87 year old mother's hot water heater stopped working on Sunday. I called Shafer Plumbing who had previously worked on a toilet issues for my mother. The delightful office manager, Ruth said she could have Steve there to check it out between 11-12 that day and then he could proceed to buy a new one once he reviewed the required specifications. At 12:00 I received a call from Steve, who pleasantly informed me that the existing water heater is now working once he flipped the circuit breaker. I thanked him very much for saving me the total cost of replacing and installing a new hot water heater. I asked how much for the service visit and he ploitely replied "no charge." Thank you Steve for honestly assessing and fixing the problem when we were prepared to pay for a new one.

 + -1 moreThey were on time and worked very hard to overcome some inherent problems associated with a 43 year old house. While the project took about three hours more than they had estimated, they stayed on budget and were strongly customer service oriented.
Description of Work: Changed bathroom plumbing from single sink to double, removed and installed a new bathtub, removed old shower plumbing and installed new valve and fittings, repaired main water valve assembly, and replaced sprinkler system pressure valve.

 + -1 moreThe plumbers showed up on time early Saturday morning. They had to dig through the ground to reach the gas line. Not only did they encounter tree roots the size of large tree limbs and mini boulders in the ground, they continued to dig and cut as heavy rain poured from the sky. Once they made it to the gas line, they were able to repair the line rather than installing an entire new line, saving me a significant amount of money. They worked hard and gave me a fair price. I had another plumber give me an estimate that was over $1000 more than the estimate from Shafer's Plumbing. I will definently work with them again.
Description of Work: Replaced section of gas line due to gas leak.

 + -1 moreThere was a little stumble getting in touch with them originally. It was a little bit of a lag time in responsiveness. However, the estimate was right on, as well as, the professionalism of the work. They were punctual for the estimate appointment and the day of the actual installation.
Description of Work: They purchased and installed two toilets as well as installed 3 owner furnished sink fixtures for the bathrooms. They also hauled away the two old toilets (and threw in a couple of medicine cabinets for good measure).
