We noticed our water heater was leaking around noon. I made a few calls and Coastline was by far the most responsive, polite and helpful. Not only did they get someone out to help us they arrived within the hour. The 2 techs they sent were very polite, knowledgeable and honest (we had just had our house re-piped and they told us the connections to the water heater were fine and they would not need replacing). They gave us a cost for replacement (it was beyond repairing). I was waiting for another estimate from our home warranty company and told them I would get back to them in a couple of hours. He told me that they should be able to install if I called back by around 2:30 or so. Well home warranty cancelled until next week and needless to say with the choice of Coastline now or home warranty next week I chose Coastline. I called them back and the techs arrived within 20 mins and went right to work. It is a pleasure to deal with Coastline's customer service and their techs. I will definitely use them again.

The install was fine, however when I charged what the hourly rates were, he said " we charge by the job not the hour. He charged me$ $ 249 for installation only. I bought the faucet beforehand. He was there for an hour and 15 minute. That's approx. 200 dollars ne hour. I thought that was expensive. I won't use them again.

Hi [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry to hear that your not satisfied with our pricing setup. Unfortunately we are, as you mentioned, a flat rate pricing company. And all that really means is that once we quote a price for a job after seeing it, that price is guaranteed to stay as-is, regardless of any hang ups that other companies would then use to start adding onto your bill. Things like needing to get parts, return trips on alternate days, or even "up selling" things like changing out the shut offs and supply lines for the faucet, etc etc. So with a company such as ours, the $249 you paid on that day, can work out to a totally different "rate" just based on how long it took to get everything done properly. With a true hourly rate your literally paying for any mistakes the tech makes, or trips to a part house, missing parts out of the box etc. flat rate eliminates all that and binds us to a committed price before we start. So that's the reason we cannot just divide the time there by the price given and arrive at an hourly rate that means anything to our company pricing, because it would be inaccurate. Had your faucet been missing a part out of the box, then we'd have been at your home another hour or so possibly, making that hourly rate closer to $100 an hour now. But these are the ups and downs that come with flat rate pricing. Some jobs we can lose money on, and others we finish up quickly and are out rather quick, as was the case at your home, but it averages out in the end over a larger spread of time. We try and go by an average pricing across the board, for each item, and then customize it based on the items actual condition access and type. Lastly, in an effort to be as transparent as possible, the technician should Have given you that pricing before starting the work, while at your home on a free visit for the estimate. This way there is no obligation or hidden fees, it's all upfront before you start the job. If you feel it was too expensive, but only after you saw the amount of time taken, then I hope my explanation could potentially have you reevaluate us, based on the info I have given as to why flat rate is superior to just an hourly rate in my humble opinion! Sorry for such a long response! but I try to take any and all customer feedback seriously, especially when we feel that there's possibly a misunderstanding in how we operate! I hope this helps explain a little better now, and possibly convince you to reconsider working with us again in the future. But if not, I understand and thank you again for trying us out. Have a good day!

We got same-day service to solve our problem. Plumber worked quickly & cleaned up afterwards. We've used Dan and Coastline Plumbing in the past and neglected to submit reviews at the time, but this is probably the third time we've used them - in the past it was to replace a leaking faucet stem and to replace most of the angle stops on fixtures in the house. On all occasions I was impressed with their standard of customer service.

Andrew from Coastline Plumbing responded promptly to my residence. I discovered a leak under my kitchen sink which required immediate attention. The leak had spread to my wood flooring and a restoration team (recommended by Coastline) was subsequently dispatched to my house. Andrew was very personable and immediately discovered where the leak had occurred. He explained to me what had to be repaired and the cost. He recommended that I hire a restoration team to prevent further damage to my cabinets and flooring. Andrew provided me with the name of two companies but also stated that I could use Angieslist to find one on my own. I was very happy with Andrew's work and helpful suggestions.

My shower valves were leaking. Previous attempts to repair the leak by replacing and rebuilding the stems by other plumbing companies have all been temporary band-aids. My shower valves were old and the company who made them were long out of business. To replace my shower valves, access had to be from the front and required removing tiles (area of about 8 x 12 inches). The back of my shower wall housed the alcove for my water heater. It isn't time to replace my water heater yet. Out of several bids, Coastline Plumbing seemed the most reasonable, considering that tiles had to be removed and replaced. Dan Vargas gave me an original estimate of between $350 to $450 for the job. Dan was very responsive to my inquiries and even made recommendations on which brands of shower valves to purchase. I purchased the new valves I wanted and made an appointment with Coastline. Dave, a Coastline plumber, showed up on time for our appointment and promptly began work. He was efficient, clean and very professional. He made sure to lay down cover over my tub before commencing tile removal. I believe it took him just a little over 2 hours to get the valves replaced. Dave also did an excellent job of removing only six (6) of my 4 x 4 porcelain tiles cleanly along the grout lines, without damaging any other tiles. Unfortunately, I learned from Dave that the scope of the job did not include putting the tiles back on. So, I called Dan right away to confirm what I had assumed was part of the job all along. To his credit and my satisfaction, he apologized for the miscommunication and explained the usual and customary scope of this type of plumbing work. Tile and/or drywall work is typically a separate job. I never did specifically ask nor confirm that Coastline was going to put the tiles back on. Dan also acknowledged his failure to inform me that the scope of the job did not include putting the tiles back on. However, I found Dan to be quite reasonable under the circumstances and offered to give me a generous discount and only charged me $295.00 for Coastline's plumbing work due to this miscommunication on both our parts. Due to Dan Vargas' professionalism and reasonableness, and Dave's highly skilled work, I have no qualms about recommending Coastline Plumbing to anyone. In addition, I plan on using Coastline Plumbing for any of my future plumbing needs.

Hello [Member name removed], I want to thank you for posting a review of your experience with us. Every review counts in this competitive market we have. I did want to address your concern with our pricing though as it is my goal to always continue to improve and use customers feedback as a way to do that. I was hoping you would be so kind as to possibly elaborate a little as to what you felt would have been a more fair pricing for the service provided. While we do not have a typical hourly rate our pricing does usually land within the range of $100-$145 per hour for us to be competitive yet still cover overhead and business day to day cost. Was there any further service you felt could have been done to help justify the pricing charged? Or did you feel that the price is simply too high for plumbing service in general? Again, I thank you for your honesty and your review! Dan Vargas.

I called Coastline yesterday morning to have an old toilet removed and a new one installed. They quoted a fair price over the phone and were here within two hours to do the work. The technician, Mike, did a great job. Very professional and kept the work site very clean. He had to do a lot of extra trimming of carpet to get the new toilet to fit, and it looks perfect. He also had to replace a 1/4 turn angle stop. When it came time to settle the bill he was very fair with minimal charges for the extra work. We will definitely call Coastline for our future plumbing needs.

Todd came out to the house to do the initial estimate and he offered me some more economical solutions than I had heard from any other plumber that provided a quote. Then I worked with Dan on choosing the trim and scheduling the work and he was great as well. The day they did the install, Todd and one other plumber showed up on time and worked straight through. They did a fantastic job! We had one small glitch and they came out and fixed it immediately. Since we made some last minute changes and removed some of the items from the list, but added some others, they adjusted the price from the original quote and I ended up saving money. They will be the ONLY plumber I ever use in the future! I highly recommend Dan, Todd and their whole company!!

The job was well done.He was very pleasant. He was very professional. He completed the job quickly. He was able to fix all 3 faucets in an hour. This review is not about 1 experience, but regarding 5+. When I took over as property manager, my task was to find a reliable plumber. I went through several before that fateful day when I contacted Dan. He is extremely personable and responds very quickly to emails even on weekends or at 3am. Sometimes I contact him and it doesn't become an actual job, but he is still responsive which is why I won't use anyone, but Coastline. I have also worked with Todd, Mike, and Andrew. All professional and neat. They spend the time and don't rush their work. Some companies feel that they or don't need your work or that dealing with an apartment complex is too complicated and they don't want to help, but not Coastline. For a true apples to apples comparison, they snaked 2 different drains that another plumbing company did before them they coughed back up. After Coastline did the job neither have been clogged since. They come highly recommended!
Description of Work: Over several different visits: snaked drain, snaked clean out, leak detection, and camera in the line
