Alan Smith Pool Plastering & Remodeling

Alan Smith is an Exceptional family pool building company. I had a 35 year old pool totally remodeled, including all new plumbing, electrical, plaster ( New plaster product called Wet Edge ), all new equipment / heater, pumps, etc. I recommend Alan Smith as a contractor with great integrity, and I'm sure you will be happy if you select Alan Smith as your contractor.

I work in the commercial real estate development business... and have an unforgiving eye for details. Without exception, the quality of their work and final product has to be the best in the business... Alan Smith Pools exceeded my expectations.

The team was great. Notified every morning by email who would be there and their scope of work. Everyone was courteous and respectful of my home (like double checking the pool gate was closed when they left for lunch or every day, I have a little one, very important!). They kept things clean as they went along and did a final clean at the end. One of the crew noticed some material got on the RV in the driveway somehow and went back to his truck, grabbed a rag and cleaned it up! Loved this company!!

They came out they determined what was wrong they fixed it I paid they had to come back to do some other work that I didn't tell him to do the first time ... they came out again and fixed that okay.. I paid them and it works... it works fine

They did a great job and the salesman is good and they are very professional, they are on time, very accommodating they give a fair prize and they also have new equipment they are also efficient and I know they were a good company.

Only misstep was the tile I selected wasn’t available until a month after the time of installation. Had to choose a lesser desirable tile.

The job went smoothly. Each crew did a good job cleaning up and was punctual.

It was very slow. Very very poor com, the man who in charge with the project, never showed when he said he would be there. He didn't communicate, we had to call him , we called Alan Smith Pool Plastering & Construction three times and never returned my calls. It shouldn't take 3 mos for them to do it and the color that they put on the pool wasn't the color that i chose. The communication was absolutely horrid. They are obviously not interested in the work.

I initially met with Mike who listened to my ideas and made some great suggestions for pool tiles and pool finishes that coordinated with my home style and surroundings. Shortly after I met with him, he emailed me a very detailed proposal. He made the product selection process easy for me by bringing multiple samples of pool finishes and tiles that helped me visualize the end project. My previous pool finish had worn away over time and I was looking for something more durable but gentle on the feet. My older plaster finish would cause sores on the feet of my children. We ended up going with a microfusion pool finish which is the smallest pebble available. This was important to me because I wanted the long term strength of pebble with a finer texture. I was alerted the day before the crews would arrive which was pleasantly surprising for a contractor. I was a little nervous about the demo process but my fears were allayed when they covered my entire pool with a tent like structure that contained all the debris. It wasn't as loud as I expected because they didn't use jack hammers to remove the plaster. Instead they used a High Pressure Power Washer to remove all the old flaking plaster. At the end of each day, every crew was diligent about cleaning up. The waterline pool and spa tile blended well with my existing coping and helped me achieve an organic look that complemented my garden and hardscape. I was intrigued and impressed watching the plaster crew as they seemingly brought my dated pool and spa to life. They started off by covering my new tile and existing decks with ample amount of plastic. They were very detailed and you could tell they took pride in their work. I wanted my pool to sparkle, so Mike recommended that I add abalone sea shell to the pool finish. I also wanted a very blue water color, so we ended up adding extra blue iridescent glass beads to the pebble pool finish. When the sun is out, my entire pool and spa glistens from the sunlight. The end result is a vibrant and inviting pool. If you are interested in working with a company that doesn't cut corners, keeps commitments, and cares about quality, then you should give this company a call.

The sales person, I think Bob? hope it's right name. came out promptly as scheduled. I showed him what I had on mind for upgrading equipment ( over 20 years old) repair & improvement. He asked if my equipment including the heater work. I replied yes. He advises no need to upgrade for now and wait for when having problems. There are some gaps on premier of the pool due to ground movement. The gaps can be repaired but will show color difference & be noticeable. The pebble tech surface still look good. Overall everything looks good. He suggests to wait until it gets worse and do it all together. I thought his suggestions were very honest, thoughtful for the customers. No doubt, I know who to call when we redo our pool. Thank you very much. It's nice to know a company like Allen Smith Pool & people work there are still around.

They did a great job with the pool re-plaster work; but, the sales rep exaggerated how quickly they could complete the project. I would recommend getting a project completion date in writing when the Agreement is signed.

Ray was a great project manager! He was always on top of getting everything done and extremely knowledgeable. He worked well with the workers to ensure all went smooth. Very professional company. I would definitely hire them again.

I had my contracting business for 33 years! This group is everything a client would want in a contracting firm from fair price to communication to executing a beautiful finished product. Great employees,really care about their work and the satisfaction of their clients!

Great job, stayed on task, many great ideas were implemented. We get a lot of positive feedback.

I got updated plumbing and new coping, tile, plaster, slide. I upgraded my pump and got a new filter (previous one was leaking). They also put in a new light fixture with Patrick ensuring proper grounding. Property manger, Ray, did a fantastic job keeping all together and monitoring work quality and each step going forward. Ray is a good people person knowing how to explain things in a easy way for customers to understand. I could not have asked for a better PM. Bill (sales specialist) was very helpful with prices and and very knowledgeable explaining the specifics for all my questions. Jimmy and Raquel kept me informed with email notices as to when construction dates would occur. Catherine also very helpful with invoices and progress reports. Richard cleaned pool after and labeled everything for me. Everyone on the team did a great job! Very nice people in the company. I appreciate their quality and great customer service.
