ABF was convenient and comparatively inexpensive for the amount of stuff we were moving. They did arrive at our new house a day later than we had hoped, but we had opted not to pay $500 extra for guaranteed delivery. It meant one extra night of sleeping on an air mattress. Next time we'll probably use proper movers, though; it was a lot of work to pack up and load all our stuff. Still, if you have family and friends to help you, you can save a lot of money by using ABF.

We were very impressed! I'd used PODS previously for local storage, but this was far more reasonable for this long distance move. The container was well & tightly packed by my son-in-law and everything arrived in good shape. The company used a front-end loader to move the container from the truck into the apartment's parking lot, eliminating the need to buy a permit from the city for street parking. The people were responsive, provided info both via email and the telephone, and were incredibly polite. We'd definitely use ABF again!

I am pleasantly impressed. I required a smaller container than those provided by PODS and SAMS. ABF fit the bill with a 8x6x7 container. Subsequently, the cost of the container and shipping was over $1000 less. My conversations with ABF reps were always professional, pleasant and helpful. They even advised that it was less expensive to have the container delivered mid-week and that I could keep it over the adjacent weekend. I wasn't sure if I required one or two containers and they volunteered two containers; if I only used one they would pick up the empty container and there was no charge. The containers were delivered exactly when ABF said they would be delivered. I loaded a little each day and managed to jam everything into one container. I called ABF Friday to tell them that the container would be ready Monday and they returned at the prescribed time. I left town the next day for a four day drive. Before I arrived at my new location, the container was already at the ABF terminal in the new city. I called the local ABF dispatcher on the weekend to request a Monday morning delivery and sure enough early Monday morning ABF delivered. A couple of side notes...I packed carefully and consequently there was no damage to anything. Also note that during my drive I passed an ABF transport rig and I was reassured to see that the individual containers are enclosed inside covered trailers safe from thieves and the elements. My experience with ABF as a company and every ABF employee I encountered was positive. I recommend the service and I will use it again.

I reserved the trailer about a month in advance, and called multiple times to secure details about my move. They were responsive, patient and courteous each time. I called They delivered the trailer exactly on time on a Friday morning. I packed the trailer over the weekend, using about 6ft of linear space for my studio apartment, and they picked up the trailer that Monday. The trailer was in Chicago by Friday, and I payed for a 1 hour drop off window. Everything went smoothly, though the bulkhead in the trailer moved a bit and I had to pay for a little extra space than I originally packed (they measured the space in Chicago because I wasn't there for pick-up in Los Angeles). This was due to my packing, so in hindsight I probably should have hired professionals to pack the trailer. Even with the extra $70 that cost me, the service was wonderful and relatively cheap.

THEY WERE VERY FLEXIBLE IN WORKING WITH US. THEY WOULD DELIVER SOME CUBES FOR US TO LOAD AND THEN THEY WOULD PICK UP THE CUBES FOR STORAGE UNTIL WE WERE READY TO HAVE THEM SHIPPED. THEY WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING ON BOTH ENDS, AND THEY WERE VERY FLEXIBLE IN LETTING US PACK AND UNPACK OUR BELONGINGS ON OUR OWN TIME. VERY COURTEOUS DRIVER/OPERATOR. USUALLY ONE DRIVER/OPERATOR HANDLES THE WHOLE JOB AT EACH END.
