I Was scheduled for an 8am quote at my house. I got a call at 7:59am from Antonio saying he'd be 30-40min late. At 8:29am I got another call from Antonio w/Sprinkler Repair Guys saying that he just figured out that I lived in Fontana Ca. not Temecula . . . the city he was now IN and looking for my home. He then wanted to reschedule for later this afternoon or tomorrow. With this level of incompetence it is not likely there will ever be another appointment. EXTREMELY disappointed!!!!!!

Sought to have the service provider help evaluate my sprinkler system and landscape lighting. All the rep wanted to do was sell me another sprinkler system. While the guy was an engineer, he wasn't experienced or qualified to provide the service advertised by the provider.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! These guys are crooks. Called them because I had a leak in my sprinkler manifold that was causing a loss of pressure. Raimey shows up to inspect; tells me that not only do I have a leak, but the original installation had too many sprinklers. I told him just to fix the leak. He sends another guy out...looks for the leak - I had to show him where it was - I found out two visits later that he replaced a section of the manifold that wasn't leaking! Dude left, I come home...So system back up? Still no pressure and still leaking. Called them they return, I had to show him where the leak was. Fixed the leak but said in order to fix leak, might as well replace valves. OK...they were 5 years old. But, come to find out they installed valves for $60 each that cost $29 at Lowe's. I come home, pressure still low. Says the too many non-efficient sprinklers on the line. Need to replace with low flow nozzles. OK...12 nozzles and get this, "special low flow nozzles" for $15 a pop...mind you not the sprinkler body, just the nozzle. System back up. Running OK. two weeks later, brown spots on lawn from sprinkler missing. Called them back to adjust...system up. A week later, still brown spots. This time it takes them 3 weeks to respond. Come out and they guy puts little pieces of brown paper bags all over the yard, turns on sprinklers to see if the get wet! Replace one of the "special low-flow" sprinklers with another "special low flow larger pattern" nozzle. Did the brown bag thing and, presto changeo he says all is OK. Two week later, still brown spots. So figure I'll pull of a couple of "special low-flow" nozzles to see what they are and maybe do some of my own engineering...guess what? "Special low-flow_ nozzles are just Rain Birds and...get this...$0.99 each.. Well, my bad and lesson learned. These guys are not sprinkler repair professionals, they are flim flam ripoff artists and I got taken. BUYER BEWARE

The sales rep was very personable, and quoted a price of approximately $480 after discussing in detail what was needed, which seemed reasonable for a small patio. He emailed me an estimate/contract for that amount, which I quickly read over and signed online. The technician arrived on time and was also very knowledgeable and personable. He installed the system per discussion with the sales rep, showed me how to work it, and gave me a manual. All great up to that point. However, he then asked for a check in the amount of $650, which came as a total surprise. I'm retired, and it was sheer luck that I had the extra money on hand. Had I been quoted $650, I would definitely have looked at other bids. I immediately emailed the sales rep and asked why there was a significant increase in cost. He emailed me another estimate/contract for the $650 amount, without comment. It was then apparent that the first online estimate/contract had omitted the timer/controller, which I hadn't noticed. The timer is a nice upscale RainBird, although I would've been okay with a lesser model. But I was not given the option. The in-person sales discussion included a timer--undefined--which should've been in the first online estimate. Caveat emptor--My bad for not closely reading the first contract that omitted the timer. Although satisfied with the product and service, I feel very taken-advantage-of, and annoyed at the way things were handled. No apology for the mixup, nada.

The person who did the assessment was more than prompt, he showed up 3 hours early. I wasn't ready for that, so schedules had to be adjusted accordingly. After his 5 hour assessment he proceeded to inform me that I had over 118 broken sprinkler heads and 28 landscape lights that were malfuntioning. My initial reaction was one of disbelief as I would have seen water running down the street, and the grass would be soggy. When I told him that I didn't believe there were 118 broken sprinkler heads and asked him to show me one that was leaking, he said the leaks were so minor they would be almost undetectable. At this point I was very skeptical of his "assessment". As for the lights I know I did not have 28 lights that did not work. I change the light bulbs as needed and inspect the lights regularly. But I knew I had at least 7-10 lights that needed repair and I also wanted to add lights, thus the need for the "Sprinkler Repair Guy". I asked him to show me the 28 broken lights. He proceeded to point to a few of the lights that I knew were not working. Then he point to a light that I had just put a new light bulb in. I told him I just put a bulb in that light so I know it works. He flipped the landscape lighting timer on and off, and it wasn't turning on. I walked closer to the light to inspect and saw that there wasn't a bulb in the light. I pointed it out to him and he said "I happen to have a bulb here, let's put it in and see if it works". The light turned out to be just fine. But I realized he reached into his bag and pulled out the bulb that I had just put in that light the week before. I buy all the same type bulb (LED daylight MR16). This was the exact same bulb as all my other lights. Most landscape lighting is soft white and I use a brighter daylight bulb. How slimy!! Now I stopped asking him for his inspection and began looking at other things he may have sabbotaged to enhance the "need" for his services. I looked up on a hill where I have a mercury vapor spot light that shines up a large palm tree. The light had fallen over and was missing the shroud around it. He said he would look at it before he left. During our wrap up he told me that the Sprinkler Repair Guy supervisor would be contacting me with a price to repair the 118 broken sprinkler heads, 28 lights and a cost to install new lights. He proceeded to tell me that I had his number since I had to call him and let him know when someone would be home since he arrived 3 hours early and if Sprinkler Repair Guy was too expensive to call him directly and he would make the repairs much more reasonably priced. More slime!! The next day I called the company who installed my landscape lights to see if their schedule allowed a brief visit to repairs lights. They came out a few weeks later and told me that the mercury vapor light was taken apart and had been damaged in the process. The shroud was 10 feet away and the bolts holding it on were stripped and someone had pulled the wires out of the housing. It took them 2 hours to make the repairs to ONLY that one light. I called the Sprinkler Repair Guy and informed them of the problems I encountered. They were very polite and shocked at the story. As I told them I feel that I paid someone to sabbotage my property so they would be "needed" to fix my property. I asked that a Corporate supervisor call me back. They did not call me back nor have they refunded my money. So if you want to pay someone to sabbotage your property, Sprinkler Repari Guy is for you. If you want someone who can actually help you, call someone else.
Description of Work: The Sprinkler Repair Guy was hired to assess my sprinkler and landscape lighting systems. No actual repairs or adjustments were performed. This was strictly an assessment.

My experience was not great. All he did was, he put a vault meter into each light socket and said they were burned out and that either I have to replace the whole system or pull them out. A short time later, I had a different company come out to tune up my irrigation and they said all the lights work just fine. There was just some little thing that needed to be tweaked; they tweaked it and all the lights work just fine now. So I do not think Sprinkler Repair Guy was not very competent; I felt horrible how much money I spent on it and he did not even spend ten minutes at my house. I called them and they called me back; that was not a problem.

The guy was very helpful and he showed me a lot of the timing functions for the lighting. He was on time and he showed me a lot about my existing system. I thought that I needed a new system and what he showed me took care of the system to where that was not needed. He showed me how to change the landscape light bulbs as well and he did try to sell a new system but that was not needed.
Description of Work: This was a Big Deal for $49.00 for an outdoor lighting evaluation and tune-up or discount on new landscape lighting. He showed me how to operate the timer and how to change the bulbs. The bulbs he had were more expensive so I went to Home Depot to get new bulbs to save money.

I called and made an appointment with sprinkler repair guy for the above Big Deal (landscape lighting evaluation and tune-up). The main office for this company is in Southern California, which surprised me. We selected a date and time for service - and I was told the field person would call and confirm when he was on his way. The appointment was for 10 a.m. - by 10:45 I called headquarters. Staff was very helpful and said they would check with the service provider. Headquarters staff said that she had spoken to him and he was running late. She asked him to call us. When I didn't receive a call, I called her back and left her a message that we hadn't heard anything. After about an hour, I received a call from the service provider. He was having car trouble, and wanted to know what the appointment was for (?) - I indicated it was an Angie's list Big Deal for an Outdoor Light Evaluation and Tune-Up. He wasn't a good communicator, and I sensed that I wasn't going to get more than a cursory look at our existing system - and that anything beyond would be extra - it was all evaluation and no tune-up. He also couldn't give me a time for that day, and when he suggested the next day, and I named a time, he couldn't do it. He then suggested Thursday....., which I scheduled. However, after thinking about the interaction, I realized I felt uneasy about the whole transaction. The main headquarters staff were great - but I would be dealing with the service person who wasn't very helpful and that I felt uneasy about. I called the headquarters staff and asked if they had another provider in Sacramento and they didn't. Ari (the staff person) said she was very sorry, and was very understanding when I said I would like to cancel. She indicated that she couldn't process the refund, but that if I contacted Angie's list they could take care of it....which I did. Thank you!

I had them come out an review my yard lights. We came up with a plan to install new lights. He used top of the line products, but he didn't know that much about the products. The cost was over $3000. I was willing to pay that amount but the process took to long. After 3 or 4 visits we got everything on paper and I received a contract. The contract had all the legal CA stuff on it, including words about the law not allowing vendors to ask for money for products until the products have been received. I was then asked to provide them with a check to pay for the products. This was real confusing. I went back and asked if the contract was now void since they were not adhering to their contract. At that point he changed his mind about me paying for products that I have not received. A week or so later he contacted me and said the order was lat because of the configuration I chose. Basically, it was my fault that the order was late. I ordered some of the lights from a store in Sacramento and received them within a few days. So I'm not sure why he can't get them faster than I can. I wish I had read Angies List reviews before using these guys.

First, a person came to the house and said another person needs to come out and make an evaluation. That person came looked over everything and what was working before was not working. He called his supervisor, and he came out. They said to fix what was previously working and not an issue to us would require laying down 50 feet of cable and redoing the lighting. We declined. They Charges $200.00 and said the Angie's list deal was not valid for their evaluation. It was to look over present lighting. That is what we thought they were doing. All in all it was a terrible experience, waste of time, and makes me evaluate the whole Angie's list idea. I am not planning on using an Angie's list deal in the future.
Description of Work: The Sprinkler Repair Guy came to the house. After looking over the Sprinkers, areas that were working were not working anymore. The areas that were not working, they had no idea what was going on. They wanted to lay cable down to correct what was working before. They did not acknowledge the Angie's List deal we bought and charged $200.00 for their time.

He did not seem to know much about the lighting system and told me that there was no voltage going to the system. Issue was the system was turned off. Also, he only looked at the front yard lighting and did not even look at the back, even after I asked him to do so. He was in a hurry to leave my house and tried to sell me on a whole new system which I do not need. I was not at all impressed with his knowledge or professionalism.

He cancelled our first appt with minimal notice, then rescheduled, showed up on the wrong date with no notice, then said his services didn't apply to my lighting. I sent him away. They are only in the business of installing new LED lighting, at $100 per fixture, not inspecting or repairing existing lighting! I had a horrible experience and have asked for a refund. He did nothing. I called to request a refund on Angies list and it turns out LOTS of customers are giving these guys bad reviews. Maybe the company changed hands; i don't know. What I do know is that they don't belong on Angies list and shouldn't be allowed to offer deals.
