+ -1 moreWhen I got the new PC, Doug gave me a lot of guidance in my purchasing decisions and he advised me as to which peripherals I should replace and which I could keep. I feel I got much better components than I would have gotten without his advice. What I like least about Doug is that he didn't give any sort of cost estimate before starting the work. On the other hand, I didn't ask for an estimate. I can't complain about what he has charged me because he has spent a lot of hours working on my projects and issues. I have known some people who are excellent, technically, at their work, but lacking in people skills. What I like best about Doug is that he is a highly competent computer wizard and he has a peaceful, pleasant, friendly and likeable personality. I would definitely use his services again.
Description of Work: On 3/20/16, Doug installed a new PC to replace my 9 year old PC for $309.00 (labor only). On 6/04/16, he remotely repaired some additional PC problems.

+ -1 moreAwesome! My computer is BACK!!! Best computer repair in I have ever had! My computer was super sluggish, pop ups, a virus or two. . Got an appointment quickly, he arrived timely. He immediately told me what was wrong, he asked a few short ??? & went to work. 1 hour & 15 minutes later my computer was debugged, viruses gone, & silent. Viva la computers 4 less!!!!!!

He also did the same for my husband's computer. Description of Work: Scheduled for next day and called to let me know he would be late, very professional. I am not computer literate at all and yet Douglas explained what he was doing so that I could understand and remember after he left. Checked out our computer completely, found lots of viruses and problems and fixed them - explaining all the time. Downloaded new antivirus program, cleaned out a bunch of registry and other errors and downloaded new browser. He fixed the original issue and more and didn't condescend or laugh at my questions, no matter how basic they might have been. Douglas is very personable, kind and knowledgeable and we will always use him in the future for our computing needs- and recommend him too!

+ -1 moreDoug came to the house the same day I called. After working for a while in my home he took my pc to his shop. I had been the victim of a very vicious hacker. My pc history had been erased, all my pictures deleted and a radio station from across the country had been installed. Doug had to remove everything from my computer. New viruses and programs attempted access even as he worked. He was able to use retrieval software to retrieve my pictures, for which I am so grateful! He also put all the data from my old desktop on a new laptop. He installed new programs and a new browser. He was very patient in explaining everything and showing me how to use new programs. A great deal of work for a very reasonable charge. We found Doug to be honest and trustworthy, a man of integrity. I definitely recommend him.

He asked me a few questions about my computer and what it was doing. I dropped it off at his location and chatted with him for a few minutes and had this feeling that "this guy knows" what he's talking about. A few hours later he called me and said the virus was removed. WHAT A RELIEF!!! When another company failed to fix my computer, Doug came through and saved my computer with a lot of memories. + -1 moreDoug arrived on time as arranged. He is friendly and professional. He assessed the problems and repaired them on each of our computers. Both computer systems are much improved and we are most pleased. My computer was taking so long to load up that I would start it up and go tidy up the kitchen or start laundry then come back to get to work, but this morning I started it up, sat down, had a siip of coffee and it was ready to go. I was able to do everything I wanted to do on my computer today faster, more efficiently, and without fear of malware harming our computers and compromising our security. Thank you again Doug. We will most assuredly be calling him when we need any computer services in the future.
Description of Work: He came to our home and checked for viruses and malware on two computers. He removed the offenders, defraged each of then, and rearranged settings to make them more efficient. Our internet connections were not working correcty and he has them working well now also.

Description of Work: Douglas, came to my residence and worked on my PC, he decided more dedicated time was needed and took the tower to his shop. Prior to leaving he made sure my laptop was working properly, he returned to my residence on the date indicated and informed me of issues he found and corrected on my PC. He made sure the computer was running properly prior to leaving.

+ -1 moreI went to Doug's location (he was close by and it was faster sense I gave him short notice) when I arrived he went right to work on both my laptop and pc, both had viruses and someone hacked my e-mail. It took a few days he cleaned them up and told me how to prevent this in the future. He also replaced the hard drive on my pc (he even got a lower priced hard drive than he quoted That was Nice) He gave a lot of extra information and answered all my questions. Also let me know about computer classes that would be the best for me, and I could call with questions anytime.

I had called Doug and explained my situation, I had an old 2001 computer with Windows XP that was very slow and that I believed I had a virus . I wanted to update to Windows 7 and wasn't sure if I should use my old computer or get a new one. Doug explained my options and we agreed to meet on 4-25-13. I dropped off my computer and Doug and I discussed him building me a new computer with a new tower ,I already had a great monitor and keyboard and mouse. Doug suggested I also purchase an external hard drive, and he would install it when my computer was ready, and Doug advised me of a great name brand to buy. Doug called me on 4-28-13, and told me the new tower was ready. We met on 4-30-13, and Doug tested out the computer with me, answered all my questions and installed my external hard drive and set it all up. I am very impressed with Doug and his company, his professionalism and expertise, quality of work and the fast speed of building my new tower was fantastic. I am extremely happy with the new computer, I should have done this much sooner !
Description of Work: I had Windows XP and was looking to upgrade, plus I was told I had sent friends a virus thru an email from a trusted friend, so I was very hesitant about using it until it had been checked and the virus removed. My computer was very old 2001 and very slow.

After restoring my Internet service, he was still concerned that my computer was infected with a virus. He diligently problem solved until he found the viruses and removed. I would definitely recommend his service to others.

He came to our home the evening that I called and set up the new computer to our wishes, installed software we needed, transferred data from my husband's old computer to the new one, set up the network for our multiple computers, and gave us a tutorial on how the new Window's 8 worked and where to find more information if we needed it later. + 0 moreSpoke with Doug on the phone several times before deceiding to go though with the work. Told him what I was looking for in a computer and what I wanted to do with it. The custom computer was a collaboration between us, my needs and his suggestions. The computer was built sooner than anticipated. During set up Doug was very patient and answered a lot of questions and came back a second time to fine tune things and get a few kinks worked out. Work was done over the holidays and on one occasion Doug was running late from a previous appointment but was responsible enough to call and offer to come by later in the evening. ( after 8: 00 pm ) instead of rescheduling. Prior to building the computer he came by the house to look at my previous set up and see what components I already had (monitor and so on ). Found him to be extremely knowledgeable, patient, personable, professional and responsible. I would definitely recommend him to a friend.

+ -1 moreOverall, the timing was perfect for us. I don't think we would have had this kind of service for such awkward situation. He was very caring and responsive, despite the late hours. And most of all, the cost was in our opinion extremely reasonable, considering the level of professional service we received.
Description of Work: We had a very destructive computer virus that completely shut down our business computer and couldn't access any files. We called Douglas, and he was able come in the evening hours to work on the business desktop, and two other laptop computers at the same time. The desktop had a virus that is known to destroy hard drives making it virtually impossible to recover any files. This was a tough task because he made many attempts to get the computer to open up, but took several hours it seemed before he could search the file that the virus was hiding in. He carefully went to each file to seek out that virus, and found and extracted it. We lost that file, but he was able to salvage the rest of the files without having to completely wipe out the hard drive. We have had viruses in the past where we lost all information because the hard drive had to be completely wiped out. But we were particularly impressed because Douglas was able to surgically remove a malignant virus without having to wipeout the hard drive, and able to save the rest of our records. Also, we had purchased virus protection, which Douglas installled on the other laptops while working on the desktop virus. Thus saving us a lot of time and money.

He replaced a lot of parts and did a lot of work, and was very patient in explaining all my questions. Overall, I am very pleased, and would definately recommend him to anyone in need of computer repair.
Description of Work: My computer tower had tipped over and my hard drive had broken and become inopperable. The tower needed the hard drive replaced and was very slow because I had taken it to a another computer shop to remove a virus, which was removed, but they also lost all my software, and they switched two 1 gig sticks for two 512mg. Doug replaced my old hard drive with a 6 gig new hardrive, and replaced two memory stick of 512mg with two 2 gigs each. He also installed the cd/dvd drive and programed it for me. So far the computer works great, and super fast, just as I had expected it. He replaced a lot of parts and did a lot of work, and was very patient in explaining all my questions. Over all, I am very pleased and would definately recommend him to anyone in need of computer repair.
