The salesman was enthusiastic and developed a plan very quickly, he was responsive to our design requirements and responded promptly to calls and e-mails. He consistently stated the pool would be completed in Mid-May, but the contract stated 95 working days which put it in mid-August. He repeatedly said that was their standard time to put on contracts, but not to worry the pool would be done much sooner. He promised to stay in touch through out the process. The job started immediately and excavation took place promptly the next week. We were assigned an in-house scheduling coordinator to keep us posted on timeline. Everything seemed off to a great start, but things went downhill after that. Our in-house scheduler never seemed to know when something was going to take place and constantly said she would have to check with the owner before she could give us an answer. The only time we heard from her on scheduling was when a payment was due. Communication was extremely poor in relation to the work schedule and inspection schedules. My husband spent a considerable amount of time trying to coordinate through various issues. The largest frustration was at the installation of the pool deck and having the stonemason lay out tiles in a random pattern that would have resulted in varying grout lines around the pool. My husband told the mason he wanted a consistent size grout line and tile size around the entire pool. The owner insisted to my husband that the way they were going to do it was industry standard and charged us an additional $3500 to lay the tile in an even pattern. Ironically,all of the pools in their catalog showed tiles cut evenly as we wanted. Over the course of work when my husband told the owner he felt like he was being extorted for more cash and if we treated our customers like that we would be out of business. The owner replied, "Well, we are in different industries and this is how it is done in the pool industry." In other words, you are a one time customer..... At the start up of the pool we had several issues, the first being water pouring out of a pipe that held low voltage wires. After the concrete was jack hammered out it was discovered the pipe had not been properly glued together and the pressure of the water separated the pipe. Of course, I am concerned if other connection points in the pipe are properly glued, but it is all under stone now. Laminar jets took four separate visits from the pool company to get them working. After a great deal of time and effort it was finally determined the filters inside the mechanism were full of debris. That should have been a simple check on the first visit. There were other small issues and they were each each resolved through subsequent visits. In the end, we have a pool that we are happy with and the work was completed to our satisfaction, but the process of getting there was rather annoying. The pool was not completed in Mid-May as promised by the salesman, completion happened in Mid July. After the contract was signed there was no follow-up from the salesman, he was off to the next sale. The sub-contractors all did adequate work, but they would also make comments about the scheduling issues and lack of communication from Blue Haven. Next time we will do better due diligence on checking Angie's List, which would have spared us from using this company based on their past poor ratings. Live and learn.....

THE SALESMAN THAT CAME OUT WAS A LITTLE RUDE. ALL THE SUB CONTRACTORS WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND RESPECTFUL OF MY PROPERTY. MY POOL TURNED OUT VERY NICE.
Description of Work: THEY CAME OUT AND LED US THROUGH THE DESIGN PROCESS. THEN WITHIN THREE MONTHS INSTALLED AN IN GROUND POOL.

AFTER SIGNING CONTRACT IT TOOK 1 MONTH BEFORE THEY BEGAN DIGGING WHICH IS A LONG TIME SINCE I WAS PAYING CASH. THERE WAS DOWN TIME IN BETWEEN EACH PHASE OF BUILDING. THEY QUOTED 70 DAY FROM DIG DATE AND I AM OVER 100 AND WORK IS STILL NOT COMPLETE, BUT I DO LIKE WORK THAT IS BEING DONE AND BUILDING SUPERVISOR DOES RESPOND TO MY CALLS.
Description of Work: IN-GROUND POOL AND SPA BUILT, POOL TO INCLUDE SHEER FALLS AND 8 JETS ON SPA, COPING AND CONCRETE AROUND PERIMETER OF POOL.

EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE. COMPANY NEVER KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON UNLESS WE CALLED. NOTHING EVER SCHEDULED UNTILL WE CALLED. THE COMPANY NEVER MADE CALL BACKS. CONSTRUCTION TOOK OVER 10 MONTHS.POOL IS USABLE BUT WE STILL ARE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH EQUIPTMENT.

IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THERE WAS NO FOLLOW-UP AT ALL. WE HAD TO CALL THE COMPANY SEVERAL TIMES TO FIND OUT THE PROGRESS OF THE JOB. THE JOB WAS NOT COMPLETED AS PROMISED. IT WAS A VERY LONG WAITING PERIOD. HOWEVER, THE POOL & SPA LOOK BEAUTIFUL. THEY DO GREAT WORK, BUT THEY HAVE POOR PROFESSIONALISM SKILLS. THE FINANCING WAS A BAD ISSUE THAT CREATED A HIDDEN AGENDA ONCE WE WERE LOCKED INTO THE CONTRACT.
