Baird gave me an estimate considerately lower than 5 other bids: same product; same installation. He arrived promptly on the day promised. He was there with a helper by 8:30 am. He was able to locate the location outside the condo that was already plumbed. He worked all morning and was able to have the unit unp and running by 1:30 p.m. There was no muss, no fuss, no dirt. By the way, I submitted my estimate and work order to the HOA who approved it immediately before the work started. I have referred him to two of my friends .

Thompson Heating and Air had changed out the old HVAC system in my home so I immediately thought of them when I had to fix the non-functioning/faulty wall-unit heaters in my rental units. I received a couple of quotes from other places but Thompson came in with a better solution that was lower priced and they were also very confident about dealing with the minor electrical issues in the very old electrical panels. We ended up putting in mini-splits in both units that cost me a fraction of the price of a whole house heating system. I saved so much money that I decided to add in Air Conditioning to both the units which made me look like the hero landlord! I was concerned about the electrical panels but Garrett assured me that he could make it all work out without taxing the old electrical system. He even found the exact breakers I needed (and gave them to me gratis!) that had been out of production, thus requiring less electrical changes. And we have never had a single electrical issue. I'm happy, the tenants are happy and warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Thanks Garrett for once again providing stellar service. We decided last summer that we needed to get air conditioning. We got three bids and Thompson was by far the best. Garrett came out and gave us a bid shortly after we called. he didn't pressure in anyway. He simply give us a fair bid, not adding any uneccessay additions. The work was done in a very timely manner, right on time. The workers were courteous and kept us apprised of the progress. The air conditioning works great and we are so happy with how it works, quietly and efficiently. About 2 months after the AC was installed we noticed that our solar system was producing zero energy .we checked our system and saw that it was turned off. The workers from Thompson had turned it off while they worked on our air conditioning system . That resulted in about a $200 dollar increase in our electric bill over 2 months.We called Garrett at Thompson to let him know what had happened. He apologized and sent us a check for $200. We have recommended Thompson Heating and Air Conditioning to a couple of friends and family without any hesitation.

My furncae stopped working the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I didn't think it was going to be possible to get someone in before the holiday, but Garrett came by Wednesday morning (within the two-hour window he gave me). He communicated the issues he spotted, and gave me a few things to think about (replacing my 40 yr old furnace SOON, yikes! and getting a carbon monoxide detector).

On installation day, Garett and his team arrived right on time, and everything fell into place perfectly. The team worked hard through pouring rain to complete our project in one day. Despite the rain, they were very careful to ensure that they kept our home tidy (I think our floors were cleaner when they left than before they started their work!). At the end of the day, they showed us how everything worked, taught us a bit about heating and a/c in general, and stayed until all of our questions were answered. Since this is our first central air unit, we thought of more questions after they left -- it was nothing urgent, but we were just curious. I interviewed several A/C companies and NO ONE beat Thompson Heating & A/C! Everything about this company is top notch. Garrett answered my online inquiry immediately and he came out and gave us an estimate with 1-2 days. Do not remember exactly, but it was fast. We went with him instead of several other companies ranging from one you see on TV a lot to a small family owned business. To me, customer service is #1. He was friendly when I met him through the end of the job. His prices were not the most expensive nor the cheapest, but I had a good feeling about him. He was very patient with my elderly mother who is challenged when it comes to electronics of any kind. His controls are easy to work and he was thorough on how to operate everything. His installers were very courteous, knowledgeable, and courteous. So happy we went with this company. Go ahead and shop around, but you will know what I mean when you talk to Garrett and meet him in person. He is the epitome of customer service.

The owner, Garret Baird, and his assistant arrived on the scheduled date and installed the Maytag FAU and A/C units in two days. They laid down plastic to protect our flooring and then cleaned up all of the debris and disposed of the old FAU when they were done. I had pulled a permit from the city for this installation so I scheduled an inspection soon after. The inspector found a small issue with a vent pipe that he wanted fixed. Garret came over the next day and fixed the pipe. We were very pleased with the installation. The A/C unit worked well to cool our house during the few hot weeks this past summer. Although we haven't had the chance to use the gas FAU yet, it was tested after installation. We also have a Maytag parts and Thompson labor warranty in the event of a system failure.

We selected Garett, from Thompson Heating and AC, because he was the most knowledgeable and courteous Heating guy that we had asked to estimate our new heating project. Garett came back to talk to us five times. Each time explaining everything in detail that he planned to do for us. The last time Garett came to our house, he even came with his new white coveralls and he PERSONALLY crawled under our house to cover every inch of the space he would be working in, just to make sure that he didn't leave any issue unsolved before he received the order from us. This kind of PERSONALIZED treatment is just NOT seen these days. We are older people and were treated as people used to be treated back when we all had respect for each other. The heater in our house wasn't working very well, and with winter approaching (San Diego winter albeit) we wanted to get our heater up and running so we could keep toasty. We have heard good things about Thompson's so we decided we would give them a shot. They were very helpful over the phone and had an opening for an appointment the very next day. The A/C technician showed up right on time and go to work within 5 minutes of walking through the door and looking at our system. He said we didn't need a major fix, just replace filters and we should be good to go. He was done within the hour and we signed the invoice and we were back in business! Almost a month later and everything is working excellent. I would recommend Thompson to anyone! Thanks again guys.

Team was punctual, professional and very courteous. Garrett showed up one minute late to the initial consult and took $100 off as a result! Very thorough, detailed work, clean installation, ensured everything was working perfectly, and took the time to ensure I understood, all questions answered, and was both comfortable and pleased. The technician showed up on time and did the service we requested. We were so impressed with his knowledge and professionalism that we contracted to have the company return and install a new air vent in our master walk-in closet.

They came at the scheduled time to inspect my air conditioner. They explained the problem and provided an estimate. They came right back the next day for the repair, which they did quickly. They were very friendly during the whole process, and I would definitely recommend them!

I'm so glad I contacted Thompson for an estimate in replacing a 20 year old heat pump in my home, and I am very happy with their professionalism and workmanship. Garett did a thorough inspection of the old system and informed me of the plus and cons of different makes in relation to the patio space and heating/ac needs of my home. He was trustworthy and professional. Unbelievably, his estimate came in at almost 1/2 of Costco's for the same type of system. His crew was courteous and efficient and Garett even arranged to have a couple of extra men come and help so that the job could be finished in one day. I will definitely contact Thompson again for any HVAC needs and highly recommend them.

Of course our AC completely went out in the hottest part of the summer, a full on heat wave! The unit had been acting up two months prior to it completely dying, and Garrett walked my husband and myself through a fix over the phone so we wouldn't have to pay a service charge of them coming out and doing the same thing. He always called us right back and his bandaid suggestions worked....until it died. Our unit was installed in 1987, so it wasn't worth fixing, the repairs would have been to costly. Garrett wasn't available to come out to evaluate our unit, so Tom came out. He was helpful and understood we weren't in a financial position to replace our unit but we were desperate, it had been 100 degrees for weeks! We had several email and phone conversations until I decided on what would work for us best. I decided on a Friday and he came out on Monday for the install. Within two days we were back in business! One of the biggest things they did for us besides saving us from a massive heat wave is let us pay half on the day of the install and half later. This saved us since we didn't have the full $6000 and we would have melted before we got the full amount. They are extremely friendly, easy to work with and cared that we were suffering. So a big thank you to them! The unit is a Trane, it's quiet and efficient, and we love it. Tom even moved the unit over a couple of feet since the original unit was installed right underneath our drier vent and was full of drier lint...not good. We would definitely recommend Thompson Heating and Air.

Slight miscommunication with regard to duct sealing, however Garret volunteered to accommodate at no additional cost. Team showed as scheduled and completed 99% in the first day. Very professional and informative. Compared 7 local installers. Decision made considering AHRI results, costs, Angie's list rating, and Consumers Reports rating. Would recommend for future evaluations

I am happy with the service provided by Thompson Heating & Air Conditioning. The price was reasonable, not the cheapest but not the most expensive. I was especially pleased with Garrett and his team. They were very pleasant to work with, took the time to discuss options with me and consider my input. Garrett was very clean and one could tell he took pride in the work he does. The HERS testing passed without any issues at all, as did the city inspection. At first I was considering one of the more visible HVAC companies that do a lot of advertisement but after a bad service experience I contacted Thompson and decided to hire them.

Another provider stuck me with a programmable thermostat I did not want and hated. In spite of several promises, he never returned to change it out. Called Thompson, and Garrett was there the next day to do the work. He couldn't have been nicer or more professional.

I spoke with a representative and scheduled an appointment for September 10th 2013. I was supposed to meet with Garrett who was to give me an estimate to install central a/c in my home. They gave me a window of two hours - from 11am to 1pm. I made no other plans for my day as this would take some time to go through the home, etc. I waited for hours and did not dare leave the house. Garrett never showed up and I never at any time received the courtesy of a simple phone call. How difficult would it have been to call me. This, unfortunately, is a common business practice these days I guess. I, for one, don't understand how they stay in business. I just was not important enough to get a phone call saying they could not make it. My entire day was wasted. Thank you Garrett.

Garrett and team did a great job. Garrett walked us through our options and helped select the best furnace. His team was alble to install it very quickly and it looks great. I would definitely recommend them in the future.

I called several A/C companies to fix my broken AC, no one could get there for several days and I was about to die in the current heat wave we were experiencing. When I called Thompson Heating and AC, I spoke with Garrett over the phone who patiently walked me through a diagnostic test knowing my desparate situation. I was amazed that what he told me actually got my system working!! I love that man! I can't thank him enough, except to share my positive experience to all!

Came promptly at agreed time, removed old furnace, installed new one and connected it to air conditioner. Cleaned up everything afterward - very pleasant people who knew their job well. Will not hesitate to refer their service to anyone - they will not be disappointed!

I tried to contact Thompson Heating & Air Conditioning to get an estimate. I used their web form to request an estimate and received an automated reply that "someone will be contacting you shortly", with Garett Baird's name on the e-mail. After 2 days, I called and had to leave a message. It's been 9 more days with no response, so I contacted someone else.

Garrett is great guy. we still have to finish the install but i had to leave a review. i got a really good deal on this heat pump. it has a variable speed blower, 2 stage heat pump. really excited to see this system.

Easy installation, the guys were there on time and got the job done in a day and a half. We use the AC sparingly but when we do it works perfect. We're very happy with the overall quality, price, and professionalism of their work. Would highly recommend.
