The estimator arrived on time and performed a complementary service check and cleaning of the fan and filter charging unit. The estimate was in line with others we had received and we scheduled the work for the following Monday. The office confirmed the appointment the Friday before. Three installers arrived in time and went right to work covering the flooring in the path the old ducts would be taking out and the new ones in. The work was finished and cleanup and haul away was done in a polite, professional manner.

He was fantastic. Arrived on time. Was very personable and friendly. Explain what was wrong and showed us. We will call them again. Fantastic service!!!!!

He did the troubleshooting and determined that a red wire had come loose and reattached it properly so that the air conditioner would start and run properly. I also asked him if he would check to determine if the refrigerant level was up to standards which he did. He told me that the refrigerant was indeed up to standards but that something was causing one of the tubes leading from the air conditioner to freeze up, which he showed to me. After some discussion he suggested that my furnace filter might be dirty which it was after I checked it. I replaced the filter and he told me that the air conditioner would now work normally. All this was performed for their basic service call fee of $89.

I contacted Thompson in the spring for an estimate to install a complete HVAC system, including running duct work. Garett came out and provided an estimate timely. He provided a few options on where we could install furnace (attic, garage, roof, crawlspace) and gave his recommendation. The scope of the work turned out to be more complicated and intensive than originally expected. The project manager, Tom, kept me updated along the way and in the end I was more than happy with their work. The team was professional, prompt and respected my home while working on the project.

Superbly. This was one of four bids that I had sought. Not the lowest, nor the highest, but judged on the results the very best I could have received. Garett was extraordinarily responsive during the bid process answering all my questions promptly and to my complete satisfaction. He showed up on time, provided the answers I needed, scheduled the work for the near time, and had his crew on site as promised (even a little early). The job was a little complicated since the accesses were too small for removal and replacement of the units. This required widening the access panels in the ceilings. The workers took care to minimize the potential repair (not included in the contract and left up to me to fix, as agreed). Our ceiling heights are 10 and 12 feet, which created even more challenges. On the 12 foot side, it took Warren, Mike and Nathan three times to get the units up into the attic. Never did I hear a discouraging word, only positive statements on how to make it work. And they did. One of the systems after installation produced a loud percolater like sound they at first stumped the crew and the boss. But they came back and tried a few things eventually replacing the originally installed drain trap that was causing the noise. All of this too them into overtime and into the night. But, the job was finished in the promised three day. As Nathan stated, no way were we going to leave this with that problem. These guys were gentlemen, polite, friendly, and great to work with. They were very careful within and respectful of our house, putting down tarps, and constantly cleaning up after themselves. they came prepared with everything they needed, met their obligation on time and with no surprises. In a word, they exhibited true professionalism imbuing a great deal of confidence in how they went about and completed their work. Great, great crew and company.

Team worked all day it what turned out to be a very complex installation. They were friendly and very professional. They arrived on time and left everything clean and tidy. Possibly by far the best job for the lowest price offered out of three that bid.

I called this company 3 times and I didn't so much as get a phone call back. I emailed them twice for a air conditioner install in my home. Once through their business website, and here through Angie's List. It's been a week and I have yet to receive any type of contact from this company. As another reviewer stated, if they are too busy a courtesy call can go a long way. I am getting my air conditioner installed by a company that had good reviews and called me back. If you run a business learn how to keep potential customers by doing the basics?..call back!!!

Garett came out to service our air conditioning system, and did a great job in every way. Reasonable prices, fast, thorough sevice; they're the total package. Would highly recommend, and will definitely call them first for any future heating and air needs. And they're nice folks too!

I worked with Garett prior to accepting the proposal. I had a ton of questions, as did my husband, and Garett was quick to respond to me and explained things thoroughly. The job was estimated to take three days and the work was started on a Wednesday morning. The workers arrived on time each day and put in a full days work. They were very friendly and courteous.The thing that struck us most was, when on Friday they found that they were not going to be done by 5:00 pm, they continued working until they finished the job, working until about 10:00 pm. They did not try to charge us any more than we had agreed to based on the original proposal. The workers were careful to cover the work areas with tarps and they thoroughly cleaned up when the job was complete. We are so happy with their work, in fact, we have already asked them to do some additional work on our air ducts.

No response from comoany. If they were too busy, a courtesy call back is all that i would ask for so that i can move on.

This is THE BEST service provider I have ever worked with in San Diego. My husband and I purchased a fixer-upper in 2008 and have worked with a lot of service providers over the last several years. Thompson Heating & Air has been my favorite. From the initial contact (via Angie's List) to the final visit everything went smoothly. The team of workers were efficient, kept a clean work area, and were very professional as well as personable. The price Thompson quoted us was about 1/3 of the cost of the other company where we received a quote. The quality of their work is terrific, and the Maytag unit that is now cooling my house works great.

I contacted Garett Baird from Thompson Heating & Air Conditioning on May 15th & requested a bid to replace my current heat pump & air handler. Garett scheduled the estimate for the very next day. When Garett arrived he was very professional, chatted with me about my system & got right to the estimate. Thompson had been the 4th estimate I had done & his bid was the least expensive by $500 & after research learned the system he bid me on was the highest rated out of the 4 estimates, so it was an easy decision to go with Thompson. I scheduled the install to take place on June 3rd. Tom, Matt, Garett, & Andy arrived on time and I instantly felt at ease with all of them. My husband was at work all day so it was just my 2 year old daughter & I home & you really do not know what to expect when a crew is working in your home all day & your toddler is present. I had no need to worry at all. Everyone was great. My daughter was curious & would go over to where Andy & Matt were installing the air handler & they were just great with her & so professional. The install took the day as expected & once they were finished Andy walked my husband & I thru what they had done & how to work it all. He was very knowledgeable & answered all our questions. It has been a few weeks now & the heat pump system is working great! Our condo stays so cool now & we could not be more excited. We would definitely recommend Thompson Heating & Air & will use them in the future for all of our hvac needs!!

Great service. I had a lot of questions after he left that I kept asking him and Garett would always respond quickly. He was so helpful. I received 3 other estimates but decided to choose Thompson Heating & Air. Garett scheduled the installation within a week. I was surprised it was so soon. The workers arrived on time. They taped down cloths so not to dirty my house. They were so nice and professional. They finished a lot sooner than I thought. They cleaned up their mess and explained everything to me in detail. They showed me how to work the thermostat and the most cost effective ways to use my A/C. This was such a great experience and I will be recommending them to my neighbors.

Garett found that there was a poor electrical connection in part of the air conditioner. He cleaned and repaired the connection. Garett Baird was prompt, pleasant, and professional. We would recommend him to anyone who requires air conditioning service or replacement.

I regard Garrett Baird as the most friendly, sharp, and diligent contactor of any type that has done work for me. I really trusted him too. He was prompt, courteous, and kept me apprised of the work he was doing. Garrett asked me up front what my needs were in an A/C system rather than trying to sell me on something. I felt very comfortable with the information he provided to me. I wish I would done this review earlier.

Thompsons Heating and Air Conditioning was by far the best company I could have hired to do the work on my home and is a prime example why I always go with the companies I find on Angie's List. I look for a company that I feel is not ripping me off, that will provide full and competent service on time- and that I feel will answer all my questions if I have them and I usually do. Was sure to get other estimates before I decided on Thompson's and am so glad that I went with them. They of course did their whole job here at the house but also followed up with my getting the required inspections by the city. A job well done.

Of the four quotes we received, Thomson had by far the lowest price. As the heater they were offering us appeared relatively highly rated, it seemed like a good deal. To install the heater in our attic, they needed to remove some garage door-like springs that hold the fold-away stairs up into the ceiling. When trying to re-install the springs, one of them broke. The guys were very apologetic and handled everything pretty well. As they had to order parts, it took awhile to get repaired - maybe 2 weeks. During this time, the stairs could still be folded up into the ceiling but they hung down a bit. Not really a big deal but not super great either. Having now had the heater for a couple of months, I can say that it works pretty well. The biggest challenge we have is getting both down stairs and up stairs comfortable. I guess that's a common problem - hot air rises, right? Not that I have any proof of such things but I do wonder if their duct work calculations were a bit off. Then again, maybe its good that most of the heat goes upstairs. Makes it cheaper to keep the house warm at night when everyone is upstairs asleep. The guys at Thomson were always very nice, very punctual, and very responsive. I think they did a real nice job and would have no problem recommending them to a neighbor. Am I super thrilled about how the project turned out? No but I think it turned out fine and I think Thomson did what they said they were going to do.

Garett replaced the circuit board and then found the illusive bad sensor. He did not have a replacement sensor with him and promised to come back out early the next morning. He came back as promised (and was a little early because he knew we had a tight work schedule) and replaced the sensor quickly. This is the second time that i have had Garett come out to repair something and, as always, he was responsive, helpful and true to his word. Another great experience with Thompson. I will use him again when the time arises.

Prompt, courteous, skilled, pleasant. They arrived on time and finished quickly. I love these guys! I have referred them to friends as often as possible. The original installation was less than half the cost of the estimates provided by competitors, it was accomplished quickly, cleanly and effectively. I haven't had a moment of trouble from their work.

We bought a house in Rancho Bernardo that did not have AC. We got 4 different quotes from various companies and Thompson's quote was by far the lowest. After some deliberation and lots of questions to the owner Garett, we decided to go with Thompson. They scheduled the work pretty soon after we decided and were done in days not including some small loose ends that were resolved later. We would highly recommend them to anyone to make their home improvement/repair budget go further.

Crew came out and finished the hob in a quick and professional manner.

This man named Tom answered the phone. I explained that I needed to have an exhaust fan in the bathroom replaced. He said he would come out the same afternoon but I would have to go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get the one I want. I ran out and bought one. He came out and from the minute he got there both my husband and I felt like he was trying to sell us something. After spending too much time talking and telli g us we needed a new furnace and new ducting he told us that he could not install the exhaust fan the same day anyway. He also wanted $250.00 and acted like he was doing us a favor at the time. Installing a new fan should only take an hour at most if someone knows what they are doing . He came without a ladder claiming that on the way to our place his ladder fell,off his truck. Perhaps this was true.. We provided the ladder He moved the trap door from my hallway to the attic to look into the attic but did not go up. This door was freshly painted since we just moved in and had the entire lace done. We did not notice until,after he left that he must have had really dirty hands because he left hand prints and dirt all,over the door. We now have to have it repainted. We would never call this company again.

Garrett was very cordial and arrived promptly. He checked everything and determined that our furnace was sound; it just needed to be reset. He also checked all our heat outputs to make sure there was proper airflow. Will definately use in the future! On further note, I had written out a check for the services and told him we found him on Angie's List. He was having a 15% discount for Angie patrons and gave me time to rewrite my check with the discount!! A true professional!!
