Trying to sell me a new system

Needed a new furnace to replace my 26 year old Carrier furnace. I called several companies from Angie's List. The best quote by far was fromThompson Heating & Air. I wanted a brand that was highly rated and so I did alot of Googling and reading of Consumer Report articles. The salesman Garrettcame and was very professional and not a hard sell. He gave me several quotesand I selected the Trane 2 stage furnace. They offer a 10 per cent Angie's Listdiscount which is a good selling point. I signed the contract on Thursday and had my new furnace installed the followingMonday. The installer was easy to work with and left the area neat and clean.Working with Thompson Heating was a pleasure. I've had the furnace for onlyseveral days but so far I'm very happy with its quiet performance. I would definitely recommend this company based on my experience with them.

Thompson service personnel called my home on Jan. 5, 2012 to inform me that my furnace had ran the recommended number of hours between regular routine servicing. An appointment was made for me at the time of the call for a furnace Tune-up on Jan. 6, 2012. The day of the appointment the Service Department called to confirm the Service Technician was on his way to my home. The technician arrived shortly after the call. Kyle L. (my service tech) was personable, professional, efficient and informative. He put on floor protection shoe covering and went right to work. He performed the tune-up service, informed me of the results and suggested tips to prolong furnace life, comfort and a way to save money by becoming a Service Club member. All in all this was an enjoyable experience. Kyle L. is a terrific technician and person.

Jerry was thorough and professional. He explained what he was doing and showed me the parts that were replaced. Jerry cleaned up after himself and provided educational information. As a female I always leery of having repairs done. I did not feel taken advantage of nor did I feel spoken down to, which is refreshing.

The technician was pleasant and efficient. He had to leave to pick up a part but returned quickly and completed the work in a timely manner.

I received letter regarding $78 inspection special so I decided to give it a try since my furnace had not been looked at for at least 8 years. Stephanie called me back and went through the process in great detail and with wonderful ease and professionalism. We were able to schedule the service call for a time when I would not have to take off work. Adam R. called ahead to tell me he was on his way and arrived on time. Since I'm somewhat sceptical by nature, I'm very particular about service people coming in to my home. Adam was impressively professional and displayed the confidence and know-how to put me at ease. He took time to show me, and make sure I understood, what was wrong with the furnace and what would be involved in the repair. Overall, it was an A+ experience.

Mike arrived on time and was very professional. He got right to work cleaning the system and identifying the issue. He explained the work that was needed and explained the cost of each. The work was completed quickly and everything is running great now! Very pleased.

We had a very old and complicated system of 2 gas old furnaces (25 and 30 years) to heat our house. They were noisy, inefficient and costing way too much so we finally came to Angies list to see about replacing them. After receiving several bids we chose Thompson to do the work. We really liked that we were dealing directly with the owner and his partner. They were extremely knowledgeable and came up with a proposal that was better than we thought was possible. It did't hurt that they gave a very competitive price. The actual work was completed in the same deliberate, thoughtful and careful manner with the greatest attention to detail and quality workmanship. They had to almost completely re-duct the entire house including some making some very tricky custom made plenums. Throughout the installation they were considerate of our space, cleaned up completely and kept us informed on all aspects of the work being performed. In the end they provided us with a new system that is even better than we imagined. Highly recommended.

I supplied the part, so he charged me for the labor. He was competent. His price was a little high; but I needed to get it done, so I paid him. Everything works fine, so I don't have any problem with that.

I'm thrilled with the repair and price.

The job done was great. He found something that was infact very inexpensive to fix that everybody else missed. I would absolutely use his services again in the future.

The price wasn't cheap but he did a nice job. He was very knowledgable. I would use him again in the future.

We spent $225 on that service and he gave us a 10% discount for the list. Our impression of the company was very good. He came and knew right away what the problem was. He did not have enough Freon because it was at the end of the day and he called his supplier. He went and got it and whatever he needed came back and did the job, and that was nice. We are going to use him to do a yearly maintenance for our units.

Garret arrived to give me a quote. He was professional and courteous. He looked at the existing heating systems and gave us a quote. That was on a Thursday. I also received a quote from another provider and Thompson was less expensive than the other provider. I put a deposit down on Friday. They were able to begin the installation the next Tuesday. On Wednesday I had air conditioning. The entire process from initial call to installation was less than a week. I would recommend them highly.

Tom came to our house and provided an estimate on replacing our old heating and air conditioning system. We decided to use him and he came in and replaced all the ducts and the heater and air conditioner. Aside from one vent being orginally placed in a spot we didn't like - they changed the location at our request - everything was done as expected. They were clean and quiet and very respectful of our home. We trusted them so much that we had them continue the work while we went on a vacation and when we came back almost everything was completed. All questions were answered satisfactorily and we had tons! I would recommend Tom and his crew to anyone who wants their heating and air conditioning installed the right way the first time. We are so happy and our home is warm when we want it and cool when we need it.

We are happy with the work they did in the house. They were very professional in the presentation. We got four quotes and they made the lowest quote. We made sure we were talking to them. Somebody told us something but for a different merchandise, so we were careful with that and didn't miss out. They gave us a schedule and they stuck to it. The owner and his partner we liked having them in the house very much. They were plain and courteous. They kept things clean. They came in on time and did the things they were supposed to. We were just going through the premise and stuff and so they may have to come back with the people to re-do the testing for the county for the air conditioning part. We have to have cool enough weather so that they could do the heating part. I think that's fine, so I think he is coming sometime next week for that air-conditioning part. There is no reason to the question the quality, the county inspector hasn't been here yet, but the inspector who came has so far not found anything wrong with the heating part of it. I have already recommended them to a few people.

I considered them due to a recommendation. They appeared professional and knowledgeable for the most part. They were pretty punctual. They were good, but I just didn?t have a great feeling about them. I ended up going to somebody else.

I had a company come out to do an annual cleaning of my furnace. While they were up there they noticed more problems with my ducting system. They told me that it would cost $1200 to fix the issue. So I went on Angies list and found Thompson Heating and Air. I called and spoke with Tom. He scheduled an appointment when I was available (after work) to come down and give me a quote. He quoted me $625 to replace and repair all the problems that I had with my furnace. They were on time and did a wonderful job. They charged me what they quoted me and my furnace has never worked as well as it does now. These guys are great.

The initial meeting included a thorough description of all types of Trane air conditioning and heating systems. A written proposal was presented describing the air conditioning and furnace I had chosen including costs. The work was done the following week within a two day period. Mr. Thompson even brought over two of his own space heaters since we were experiencing cold weather at the time. The owner and co-owner returned several days later with the inspection team from Anchors Aweigh to assure that all work was done properly. I was continually asked if I had any questions or concerns during the entire installation procedure. I also received a call several days later to determine my satisfaction. I would recommend this company highly. One caveat though...the condenser for the Trane A/C system I chose is very large and needs to be positioned at least one foot from the house. Caution customers to check on the area first to determine whether the unit will leave enough space for people to pass by easily.

The sales person came out to give us a quote. He was a nice older gentlman who was knowledgable and experienced in A/C. He was able to give me a quote on the spot, but it took quite a while to do this. He wasn't as prepared in knowing some of the specifications of units that he was offering to install. Overall, he didn't seem that professional. The quote was one of the lower ones that we recieved but I wasn't sure about the quality of service I would be receiving.

Everything went very well. They were professional and personable. Their pricing was fair and they met all of their commitments. They didn't try to sell me more system than my home needs. I would highly recommend them.

They were fabulous. They were exceptionally neat and did a good job of explaining what all my options were. They made great recommendations and helped me make an informed decision. I would absolutely use them again.

I interviewed more than 5 candidates for this work and found that Mr. Thompson was the most technically knowledgeable and was most comprehensive in answering my questions and most open to my ideas. Mr. Thompson patiently provided technical explanations and presented alternative ideas to all my questions, but unlike others, he did not quickly discount my ideas before presenting his. After extensive discussion about the project, he presented his offer which I found to be the most comprehensive and price competitive among those presented to me. Throughout this extensive overhaul, Tom and his crew performed excellent job and displayed professional and courteous attitude. Overall, I am extremely happy with the end-result and have been enjoying the systems everyday since they were installed.
