See above. The tech was pleasant, but didn't do what was supposed to be done, and didn't follow through with things he said he would do.

He checked the filter and the lines and gave me suggestions to the siize and abilities of my systems.

We are new owners (1 year) so this was our first maintenance work on our heating and cooling systems. Nick was punctual, courteous, efficient and helpful. He reviewed both systems with us. Our heating was just a couple of years old, in very good condition, and working well. The A/C was old, clogged and somewhat rusty (in our estimation it was probably original to the house so about 20+ years old). Nick checked the unit over, and advised that although working ok, it did not operate very efficiently, which would adversely impact our cooling costs. Also, because of its age, at some point in the future, it would need to be replaced. He then provided a detailed and firm estimate of the costs to replace it, using the most efficient unit for our size house, and the benefits we would gain. Nick did not pressure us, but gave us all the necessary information to make an informed decision going forward. We would be very happy to work with his company in the future.

It all went very well and we were completely satisfied.

Gave recommendations that I could perform myself and a free air filter. Did not try to upsell anything. Knowledgeable and punctual, courteous and professional. I would use them again.

Impressed with the responsiveness of the office staff, especially Serena. Nick came to assess our problem with the furnace and did a good job of explaining the issues and working with us to find an air handler that was half of what most units would cost. He was the 4th person who had worked on the furnace and the 1st to help us fix the actual problem instead of doing a temporary fix that didn't work for both A/C and Heating. Installer Arturo was efficient and responsive to my concerns.

It went great. Nick was friendly and efficient. He got the fireplace up and running quickly. I learned Excel also services air conditioners and solar panels, so we will definitely be giving them a call in the future.

Overall, the experience was great. They showed up on time, did what they said they would do and everything went well.

The gentleman who scheduled our appointment was very friendly and courteous, and he was able to send a technician to our home within a few days (they provide a 2-hour window for their arrival). The technician was also very friendly and courteous. My husband explained the problems we'd been having and the technician set to work. After inspecting the furnace, which is in the crawlspace under our house, he emerged with a filter that was covered with a layer of pet hair that was at least an inch thick (we have 5 pets)! It actually caused the furnace to blow a fuse, so the tech replaced the fuse as well. Once the filter was replaced, the heating worked perfectly. The tech also said that the dirty furnace filter may have caused the AC compressor to short circuit and trip the breaker. It's difficult to test the AC in the cooler weather, but we're hoping that replacing the filter has solved that problem as well (thereby saving us thousands of dollars on a new unit). If that's the case, then we're prepared to declare the Excel tech a genius!

I was having problems with my furnance and he was able to identify the issue and recommend repair. He was pleasant and easy to work with.

Installers were on time, fully explained the installation process, obtained our approval and fully reviewed the operation. At the end they were courteous, professional and customer-oriented.

It was obvious that for the extremely low price of the service special and the amount of time the two representatives spent at our house that Excel made little or no money off that special. Their potential upside was future work from us to fix or replace aging ducts or otherwise improve the efficiency of our heating and cooling. They identified hundreds of dollars worth of work that could be performed, but given that we do not expect to remain in this house for too many more years there was no way we could justify the cost of that work. On the positive side, neither of the two Excel representatives were pushy about the proposed improvements. They did offer some alternatives that could have reduced the cost had we had chosen to do any of the additional work. They were both very professional and polite the entire time.

The technician seemed knowledgeable and said my system was in good shape. I expected him to to a more complete cleaning, but he only cleaned the re-usable filter and checked the system to make sure it was funtioning properly. I was confident that he knew what he was doing, but my expectation was clearly not the same as his.

Recommended a new HVAC unit instead of repairing existing unit.

The young man sent by Excel Air was on time and knew his job very well. He checked and adjusted the system and found the coolant to be low and told me there would be an extra charge to fill it. I was slow to agree , but felt it was best to trust him. The coolant was very low and he had to add more than he had estimated. Today is Nov. 20, 2012 , the heat pump is working better than it ever has , better even than when it was new , 8years ago. I will be calling Excel Air for all my future repairs or checkups.

Everything went well though it didn't take long for the representative to check our system, I think about 15 minutes.

Person showed up on time, did the work in a professional manner, charged what they said, and left. No problems that I am aware of.

They did a great job, described the options well before starting, provided extra filters at no charge and stayed within the estimated budget.

The technician was over 30 minutes late and we did not receive a call letting us know he would be late. While I appreciate the information we got, I don't think it was worth the money.

I bought a coupon for a "30 point" service" . Instead, a salesman checked my A/C for about 1 minute, said that it couldn't be fixed and offered me their products. That is all that was done. Nothing wrong with this gentleman, he was knowledgeable, it is just that I paid $40 for a sales speech. It should have been free.

Fine. Again, only miss technician never looked at Furnace, which I guess was supposed to be part of the review?
