He did a WONDERFUL job, finishing 4 days under schedule and under budget! That alone is almost a miracle, as far as I am concerned. Our kitchen is gorgeous, open, functional, beautiful. The compliments from friends and family have been ongoing. He and his team were very professional. Always on time. Always cleaned up afterwards. Taped off the kitchen to minimize the dust flying around. Worked around our schedule. Additionally, his team was a pleasure--the cabinet guys, the plumber, the painter, the granite fabricators--all of them did a great job. Also, he recommended people and places that we used who were equally professional--the hardware provider, granite store, appliances. He also had some good ideas, and together, we achieved the desired results without hiring a designer! He answered all my questions. I can recommend Joe without reservation.

I live in the Midwest and also have a home in Carlsbad, CA. My kitchen in California was in dire need of remodeling but I was not familiar with contractors in the area so I joined Angie's List to help identify possible candidates. I carefully read reviews of contractors near Carlsbad and contacted 4 or 5 via email and invited 3 of them to look at my kitchen and talk possibilities. In the end I selected Joe as he was extremely responsive to all of my questions and seemed to have a very positive and creative approach to the remodel. I was not disappointed. From the beginning, Joe made sure I understood every aspect of the job. I felt I was always aware of my choices and how they impacted my budget. He seriously considered all of my ideas even when I could tell he thought some were a little "unconventional". His attention to detail was welcome as was his daily humor. His subcontractors were also excellent, professional and experienced. They arrived every day on time and cleaned the work site when they left. I enjoyed working with them very much. The result was a kitchen I love and an experience that was very enjoyable. I hope to work with Joe and his crew in the near future.

The project went great! We found Joe through our cabinet maker, and as a consequence we ended up with a mix of Joe's subcontractors and a few guys we'd found separately. Joe stepped in and took charge of the project, even when it involved problems with the other subcontractors (who he wasn't getting paid to manage). He was very committed to delivering a quality kitchen, and to getting all the details right. He was very responsive to emails and calls, and was always willing to take time in the morning to go over the project onsite and discuss what was going on. We were on a strict timeline (pregnant) and Joe was always on top of the schedule to make sure the kitchen would be done before the baby arrived. We thought it was interesting - when we were talking to contractors at the beginning, Joe was the only one who didn't try and tack on additional projects ("We can redo the bathroom too" or "It's be a good time to re-plumb the whole house"). He's obviously confident in the quality of his work, and understands that the best way to get follow-on work is to do an excellent job the first time.
