+ 0 moreHume were punctual and it took them several days to put out the termite report because according to them a general contractor was needed to evaluate the damage. They came back with a proposal that amounted to $43,000 which was very suspiscious. We had two other termite companies evaluate the damage and both of them came fairly close to $10,000. Hume was obviously trying to make a big project out of it. We ended up using The Bugman which turned out to be a very professional organization.

Description of Work: I hired Hume & Company to take care of a termite problem. They repaired the damage from termites, and also replaced some wood that had been saturated with moisture (wood fungus repair), and basically re-built my patio.

+ 0 moreThey were awesome. They were very thorough. They pointed out some areas where I needed to do some work to replace some wood. They did a fabulous job.
Description of Work: I used Hume & Company for termite work for one of our rental properties. They came out and did a full inspection of the building and they spot treated for termites and they did some scraping of some mold and treated that as well.

+ -1 moreA neighbor recommended Hume and Company as we were searching for a trustworthy, experienced company to ensure that our home was free of termites (our neighbor wasn't so lucky, but were pleased w/Hume and Co). Hume and Co offered a complimentary pest and termite inspection. Mike was prompt and very thorough, even assessing areas in our attic that are typically very difficult to access due to our home design. Thankfully, we were termite-free. We're sleeping much easier -- thanks!

They tell me what I need to do and could do. There is zero pressure to buy. I'm impressed with their customer service and knowledge. Description of Work: Hume & Co. have been our pest control/termite experts for close to ten years. We called them to do inspection today after a little over 3 yrs hiatus. As usual, they were extremely thorough and professional. Dan Hume did inspection inside and out (including attic on a warm day), then recommended remediation that made sense. They will be coming back in next day to treat several areas of termite infestation and some dry rot. Dan also gave us practical advice on related issues (eg dry rot). and suggested some local roofing co.'s he felt we could trust. We're impressed with Hume & Co.'s honesty and experience. They are not the cheapest company - other pest control co.'s might be less expensive. But if you want your home to be treated in a quality manner so termites don't cause damage we wholeheartedly recommend Hume & Co.
