ERC Cabinets

This is the third time I used ERC Cabinets. In the past, I had a vanity built for a bathroom, cabinets for the garage, and a desk for a bedroom. This time I needed a vanity for another bathroom and Eric proved himself once again in building me a vanity for another bathroom. The vanity was absolutely beautiful, built with high quality, and skill. Some cabinet makers compromise on quality with the materials they used, but Eric does not do this. He worked well with me in the designing aspect until I was satisfied. He was patient when I had to delay the install of the vanity due to problems with the tiles I chose. When the tile problems were corrected, Eric and Julian quickly set up an appointment for install. They arrived on time and installed it perfectly. They were professionals, cleaned up afterwards and did an excellent job. I would definitely use the ERC Cabinets again as I still have a kitchen to remodel.

Dealing with Eric was a NIGHTMARE. He came well-recommended. It started out well; he was cheerful and confident. He said this job was "easy." Please note that other cabinet makers commented on the good condition of my cabinets and they did not need to be replaced or refinished. But I wanted to go from blonde wood to painted wood. Everyone estimated a 1-2 week time frame. The job was supposed to take two weeks. He only spent two days doing the actual painting. The rest of the time was all mistakes and fixes. It was a clown act. The cabinet was installed upside down, the paint peeled after one week, the color on the same cabinet doesn't match itself. After two and a half months of this clown act, we told Eric he had to finish and we would hire someone else. The paint began peeling along the crown with a week. He blamed people who weren't even here. He blamed everyone but himself. Other contractors told me it was "shameful" what he was doing. He was supposed to be done before Thanksgiving. The job was finished at the end of January! He ruined our holidays. No kitchen over Thanksgiving and Christmas for a job that was supposed to be done a week before Thanksgiving. He never showed up when he said he would; he showed up unexpectedly. He held up other work and would not answer his texts when he knew he was holding people up. The cabinets do not match the toe kicks. I have pictures of everything. The man is a train wreck.

Eric knew exactly what should have been done when the drawers were first installed (by another vendor). They should have been installed approx. 3/4" inside the cabinet space to avoid hitting the cabinet door hardware. It was an easier fix than I anticipated and the work took him less than 30 minutes. He left the site clean, and the result was a perfect fit. He also gave advice on another project we have, which I plan to begin in the Spring 2015.

An A+++++! Eric provided one of the best experiences I have ever had!!! Not only did he build an additional 8 ft wide closet, but he designed it both inside and out in ways that exceeded my expectations. Because of his background and experience I was provided with ideas for options that I had not even considered i.e. flexible rod placement, the opportunity to have the option to switch from closet rod to shelving in what ever proportion I may need in the future. The opportunity to have a custom cabinet with multiple doors instead of just a closet was a master stroke for easy access! The workmanship was outstanding and the work was done in a timely fashion. In summary, I now have a great closet that blends with the other cabinetry, plus a storage space that can continue to adapt as our needs change. I received a super value for the dollars expended and couldn't be happier. Eric is at the top of my list for future needs and I have no hesitation to recommend him to all!

The carpenter, whose name is Eric, did a good job. The desk exactly matched the color of our wall unit which is laminate and not real wood. Because of the heavy varnish that he did, we don’t press on the wood when we write on it. He does a lot of work from contractors within the area. He was referred by a contractor we found at Angie’s List. Apart from the cabinet that he did, we had a dining table that was refinished, and he recommended something to do with it and I think this is above and beyond his work. The job he did was a bit complicated. He had to strip down the piece of furniture and had to deal with plywood that is not always best for staining. So, I recommend that people should get a quote first before letting him do something. I will also recommend him to do kitchen cabinets, although he did not do mine, because I saw some of the cabinets he did in a shop. I don’t know what he can do with other projects and I’m not sure what he can do with antique furniture. Our desk is ten years old and he was able to change the color particularly to a darker shade. We dropped the desk on a Saturday at his shop we picked up it the following Saturday. We did the quote through a text message. He was very convenient to work with and unique given the fact that we transacted through cellphone and dropped it off on a Saturday. He could be moderate on price but his quality is very high because he really did a good job. He was very nice to deal with and I will recommend him.

My mother-in-law had problems with her cabinet maker by not returning her calls. We searched Angies List and found cabinets. The owner took time to go over all the details of building the vanity, giving suggestions for a better designed cabinet, and signed a contract. ERC Cabinets fully abided by the contract, built a cabinet that wow'd my mother-in-law, and even surprised her with soft-closed drawers/doors. ERC Cabinets was very concerned with pleasing the customer, showed up at her house on the date and time specified, and made sure her bathroom was cleaned up of all installation debris. She was so pleased with this business that she hired them to do her garage cabinets. Kudos to ERC Cabinets for a job well done
