Carney fence

Where to begin with Carney Fence, these guys are true fence craftsmen. They showed up everyday on time, ready to work. They did what we had asked and in a way that showed they truly cared about the end product. We had over 200 feet of new fence to install and they did an absolutely fantastic job. What impressed me most was when James came out for the estimate he discussed intricacies of our fence install that previous companies didn't even notice, that right away set them apart. Their cost were right inline with the other companies, but again, we felt their attention to detail elevated them in our mind. We would no doubt use them again and without hesitation recommend them.

James and Joe Carney were fantastic. Completed the job in 3 days, cleaned up everything, no mess left behind. It's just the two of them and they are a well oiled machine. They even discovered a bee hive up in my hill! Bees have since been safely removed. Don't hesitate to use them. They were wonderful to work with.

James was very professional. Was always on schedule from price estimate to job completion. Karen also made sure to return calls and provided timely updates on schedules.

We just bought this home and the dividing fence was falling apart. James came out for a bid and pointed out all the problems and how we could avoid them in the future. He also used a much better wood, cedar that was 1" thick as opposed to 1/2" pine that was falling apart. James uses wood screws as opposed to nails which will keep the neighbors dogs from pushing the boards out, again. They put up a beautiful 80 foot fence in a day. James gave me a quote that as a total cost was comparable to other bids we had, but his materials and method was superior to what others quoted. I would highly recommend using CARNEY FENCE for your next fencing job.

I called the company for an estimate, and James came out (on time) and took a good look at what I wanted to do. He took his time and really listened to me. He gave me a quote right on the spot. His price was in line with other estimates that I received, but what sold me was his positive and no pressure attitude. I like that the work is done by him and his brother--no subcontractors. And, unlike other fencing companies who wanted 50% down (BEWARE of any contractor who wants this!) he wanted just the standard 10% down. After speaking with other fencing companies, James really stood out as someone I wanted to do business with. He and his brother showed up as scheduled, and demolished (and hauled away) my old, tired termite-ridden fence and gate, and installed a brand new one. They were efficient, and did a great job. They put in three horizontal railings for extra stability and longevity, and used screws rather than the silly staples that most fencers use. The fence is beautiful. i would highly recommend this company.

Carney Fence is a real "mom and pop" business. James came out to look at our property and give us a bid on the job. His mom Karen scheduled the work. Then James built our fence with his dad and brother. This company / family was an absolute pleasure to work with. They are prompt, efficient, and competent. I previously had my two side fences replaced by other companies, with less then satisfactory results. One company used numerous warped boards and I had to make them come back and replace those boards. There were no such problems with James. He hand-picks all his wood to make sure you are not getting any warped or otherwise problematic lumber. In addition, he uses screws to attach the boards to the rails, so you don't get those "run marks" caused by rusting staples. Besides being good at what they do, the Carneys are just very nice people. I highly recommend them.

It is a small business, two brothers, and they were very good about working with us about splitting the cost of the fence between us and our neighbors.

Did not return multiple calls (4) over five days. I left detailed messages for nothing. I guess business is great.

I asked James Carney at Carney Fencing to provide a neighbor mine and me an estimate on a fence replacement for a fence between myself and the neighbor. James showed up on time and quickly took the measurements he needed in order to come up with an estimate. He took the time necessary to ensure both my neighbor and I were satisfied that all our questions were answered, and provided us an immediate estimate that we both found to be reasonable. He explained where he sources his fencing materials and even showed us the type of fasteners he uses to secure the fencing. James carries a binder with samples of his previous work which also helped us in determining what kind of fence we wanted. He was happy to provide references upon request and appeared eager to satisfy his customers. His reviews by previous customers on popular review sites indicated James goes the extra mile to keep his clients happy. This was particularly important to me as James really had three different customers to keep happy on this job: my tenants (the house is a rental), my neighbor, and me. His bid on the job ended up being the most competitive but it was really the combination of his responsiveness to phone calls and his obvious desire to provide great customer service that led us to select him and his company. One other item that helped tip the scale in his favor was that James provided the estimate on the spot. Once we selected him he kept his word and charged only the amount he bid. He made no attempt to upsell or otherwise add to the price of the job by “discovering” extra work that needed to be completed. James is not only the contractor and business owner, he actually does the installations himself, which also helped in our decision to select him. James started and completed the job within the times he specified, using the materials he promised, and according to all terms to which we agreed. James and his crew work cleanly, leaving no trash or other items behind for my tenants or myself to clean up. The fence itself is beautiful and my tenants were very happy with the results. This fence increase both their privacy and improved the environment in which they live, and I would happily recommend James to anyone considering any type of fence work in the future.

The lady next door to our rental had passed away and her daughter wanted to sell the house. She asked if we would help out with replacing the fence between the properties. We notified our neighbors on the other side of the rental and they also agreed to go in to replace the fence. She made an appointment with Vista fence and they wanted contact information for all 3 families. She didn't have it so they said they would not come out. She ended up making an appointment to get an estimate on only her fence. Meanwhile I showed up and so did the neighbors on the other side. Vista Fence stood us up and were not nice when she called back. I also called them and they said we were not on the books and there was nothing they could do. That's when I joined Angie's List. I contacted Carney Fence and James said he was busy the next week but would come out and meet with all of us any time that weekend. Our neighbor was flying back home in a few days so we were on a short time line for making a decision. He had pictures of his work and was responsive to all our needs. We had gotten another estimate from a neighbor but the estimate from James was so good we made the decision on the spot. The fence is beautiful and they really got things done quickly. We used redwood on the sides of the house and wrought iron in the back. I am so pleased that we were able to resolve this complex situation so quickly. Three families, three fences and it's all came together on schedule. . . and we’re all excited about the workmanship. Unbelievable!!!

My husband and I used Carney Fence to replace three posts and gates that had deteriorated and weren't very functional. James, the owner, came the next day to discuss our options for repair or replacement, sent the estimate promptly, and was a delight to work with. He scheduled our work for the next week, came when he said he would each day and did exactly what he said he would do. We found him to be professional, thorough, and honest. Work was done on time, on budget, and the gates are beautiful and function just as they should (which is important because we have a pool in our backyard). We're very happy with our new gates. He and his brother are hard working and the kind of contractors you want to do any new fence, repair, or fence-related work. We highly recommend Carney Fence. Call them first, you won't be disappointed.

It went great. James provided an estimate the same day that he came to see the fence. I was able to schedule the work to be done within a week. James arrived on time, worked quickly, cleaned up the area after the work was done. He finished the project earlier than expected. He is knowledgeable, professional, and a great problem-solver. I highly recommend his work.
