They did a really great job! They explained and showed me everything. I was very pleased. The guys doing the work were awesome! They were even nice to my dog!

The experience was very good. Jim came promptly and looked at the work He provided a quote within a week and came back personally to review the quote and address any questions we had. He was not the lowest priced quote we received but we went with him because he listened to our desires and found ways to fulfill them. Others were more interested in talking us into doing the work in a way they were familiar with instead of what we wanted. His foreman Jose was an artist who oversaw every detail and solicited our opinions and feedback throughout the job. Their crew was very respectful of our property and kept everything clean and neat. As with all construction jobs, it took a bit longer than planned but considering the attention to detail everything was done RIGHT! The whole project came out looking amazing and does not look like a remodel but like it was designed that way originally. We would use Boyce's roofing again and have asked them to quote some of our investment property.

Work was performed professionally and they were able to come out earlier than originally estimated.

Service was excellent but did not receive the total 10% discount which this said would get up to a maximum discount of $500. My total changes before discount was $3,400. I received a total discount of $290 instead of the $340 I should have gotten. The first part of the job was $900 and I got the entire 10% discount. The 2nd part of the job was $2,500 but I was told a maximum discount of $200. I accepted as they did excellent work on the 1st job.

Mrs. Boyce called us right away after the package was purchased, which was a positive. However, he didn't show up on the date we arranged, and didn't call to let us know that he couldn't make it. We finally called him to ask what happened, and he then apologized and rescheduled. He then was about an hour late for the rescheduled time. After looking over our roof, he told us that he would send two men to do the repairs during the following week, but he didn't know what day they would come. He said we didn't need to be at home when they came to do the work. However, since they would be using our driveway for their truck, and would be blocking our ability to leave the garage, it would have been nice to know at least approximately when they would be at the house. The truck arrived on Tuesday morning, with just one person doing the work, and he did not speak English, and so I was unable to communicate well with him regarding my questions and concerns. I assume the job was done properly, but have no way of evaluating it.

Boyce called to tell me they were coming out the day they came, without letting me know in advance. Fortunately it was a day when I could be home. His crew was courteous and efficient. He stayed within his original estimate, but I felt highly pressured to do more work - with an estimate of $10,000 - and I had to say an emphatic "no" several times. I have had no roof issues since the agreed upon work was done, but don't disagree that additional work will eventually be needed on a thirty year old roof. I just don't like to be pressure to spend more than my budget allows.

The old roofs were removed and cleaned up same day. New plywood sheeting was installed on first building and termite damaged wood was removed and replaced. Underlayment and Timberline Ultra HD roofing was installed. On the second building the crew was dealing with 12/12 pitch (roof was very steep) and a beehive that was removed and placed in a bee box for honey production. There was very heavy copper water heating panels that had to be removed and they were removed and lowered without damage. The panels were inset into the roof and had caused extensive damage due to water leakage. The west side of the second roof had to nearly be completely rebuilt because of the bee removal and water heater panel damage. Inspite of difficult working conditions the work was completed in a timely and safe manner using safety harness on the very steep second building. I was expecting quite a bill for the extra work but was suprised to find the fee for the extra work more than fair, which is why I am taking time to write this review. Mr. Boyce was fair and easy to work with even with the difficulty of the work that my job turned out to be. I am a retired contractor and I can appreciate an honest hardworking contractor that Mr. Boyce and his crew turned out to be. My thanks to the Boyce Roofing Company for the great job they did on my home here in Fallbrook.

We bought our new house a few months ago and while the home inspector could tell that one wall had been repaired from water damage, he couldn't tell if there was still a problem since it doesn't rain much in the summer in San Diego. Once the winter rains started we could see a stain appearing on the same family room wall, and decided to call a roofer for help - not knowing where else to start. I searched Angie's List for the nearest / highest rated Roofer. I called Boyce's Roofing and Repair early on December 26th, and spoke to Jim who was happy to listen to my issue and stop by for a look that same day. He was able to identify that the problem was water seeping in from the deck off the master bedroom. The original estimate was much lower than what we paid, but he delivered the verbal estimate with the understanding that they could uncover more work when they took a closer look. I was comfortable enough with Jim that I didn't look for a second estimate. His crew (led by Jose who is awesome) came by the next day and started "digging" into the problem. Both Jose and Jim were able to clearly show me where the problem was, and how the previous owners "fix" was faulty. I received the new verbal quote and authorized the work. The team showed up at 9am the next morning and got to work. The job had to be halted after about 6 hours due to more rain, but the crew was back right after New Years to complete the job. From start to finish, I'd say it was about a 10 hour job. That includes lifting the deck, removing the old flashing, removing some stucco, and then building it all back up again - the right way. Jim's crew is great - really friendly, polite, kind to our dogs, and cleaned everything up so you wouldn't even know they were there. We've already had our first rain since the fix, and all seems water-tight. :) Jim provides a one-year warranty on his work as well. I would recommend that anyone in need of Roof Repair give Jim a call.

We did not have the luxury of shopping around for a roofer before picking a company. We found Jim Boyces Roofing on Angies List and and found Jim to be very professional and kind. He seemed like a hard working and honest contractor and quoted us $6800 with an additional $500-$1000 of work depending on the damage once the roof was removed. The crew began on time and completed there work in just over 5 working days. They arrived when they said they would be there, and worked late to get the job done. They were EXTREMELY clean the entire time they were there; they constantly cleaned up after themselves and never left the environment dirty or dangerous. I was happy that they explained every part of the process and talked about the quality of materials they use and how they would be installed. Jose was in charge of the job while Jim was away and constantly double-checked the work of his crew. Jim and Jose seemed like the type of people that would tear down their work if it was not done properly, and redo it to make sure it is right. The only issue I had was that, on the fourth day, I was informed that the additional cost of damaged parts and labor was going to cost $2150 ($1150 more than what was originally quoted). I displayed my discontent to Jim and he broke down the cost into parts, labor, and explained that the extra work that was required in order to complete the job right. I had him cover a 'pergola' type area above my front door that was approximately 3ft x 3ft and I had them install two extra vents in the roof for bathroom vents. This was not discussed in the job quote and could easily equate to the additional labor and material cost not anticipated. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend these guys to anyone who wants the job done right. I was thoroughly impressed and it was a good experience leaving me with the peace of mind that my roof is as good as new. I would get estimates from other companies as I cannot accurately compare what I paid to the rest of the market, If the price is right or even close, I would fork out the extra cash to have Jim and his crew do the work.

I was impressed by the neatness of such a messy job. My neighbor remarked on how quiet they were. Also, they cleaned up after each day. They completed the job ahead of schedule.

Total construction time was 4 days. The crew asked us what time was best for them to start and stop to minimize impact on our lives. Once we selected our roof and set the date, he and his crew worked very quickly to remove the old roof (in less than 4 hours) and start replacing the old lath and plywood sheeting with new sheeting and shingles. He was careful to warn us that the actual cost would go over his estimate if he found extensive dry rot in the old roof that needed to be replaced. On a 30 year old roof, that is to be expected, and we ended up going about $700 over budget due to that. He was also kind enough to add plywood to our attic while the roof was off. This was something we had been unable to do for years because we couldn't get any plywood into the attic through the access hatch. He had his crew lay down plywood across our attic and helped us increase our storage space dramatically. Throughout the project, Boyce's crew was friendly and respectful of our property. They took note of our plants and bushes near the construction areas and made sure not to harm them. They were continuously cleaning the construction up during the day, and always left our house neat and tidy at the end of the day. There were never any nails on the walkways, driveway or lawn. Any large debris was stacked out of the way until it could be hauled away. I cannot recommend anyone higher than Boyce's Roofing. While I hope to never need him for this house, I have recommended him to my family and friends for any of their roofing needs.

On the day promised, the two man crew removed the ceramic tiles over the area, replaced the bad lumber, they found no indications of the rot spreading, they primed it, replaced the weather proofing and tiles. They replaced two cracked tiles which is common when you mess around with ceramic roof tiles. They were very professional, detailed and expediant. We have experienced a few downpours since with no leakage experienced. The work is warranted for one year by Boyce.
