I WENT PERFECTLY. HIS WORKER CAME IN TWO DAYS TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS.

The team came out at the appointed time, got busy, and replaced the cracked and broken mission tiles on my roof. They knew what they were doing, which is very important to the owner of a home built in the 1920's.

Had roof inspected following purchase of home. Tile roof was in good condition, however, when the roof was installed, the installer did not put valleys in the roof to allow for proper drainage. Boyce Roofing came out and replaced any broken tile, and cut 16 valleys in the roof. Roofing crew was very friendly and explained what they were doing. They showed up for work 15 minutes early, and worked all day. Each day they cleaned up and hauled all their materials away.

A rep showed up on time and took a look at the tile roof and told me that the roofing paper underneath the tile needed to be replaced at a quoted price of $7000. I told him I could not afford that at this time but asked him to seal my vents and fix a broken tile. Also to please call me when the guys will show up. Nobody called and workers were at my house the same day. It took them 12 minutes to seal the vents and fix my tile. 12 minutes cost me $149. You do the math.

Boyce's Roofing & Repair is a small, family run business; something that was important to me. It seems that the owner tries very hard to do the job right: he uses only his own employees; he has insurance/worker's compensation coverage; he was clear on all work to be done. His crew showed up bright and early each day and worked until sundown. At the end of each work day the crew sweep our driveway of nails and other debris that landed as they worked throughout the day. You could tell the crew was proud of the work they did and was happy to show us how they had completing their work. Our experience with Boyce's was as good as it gets. We are very pleased with the work performed; it was done in a professional manner and at reasonable cost.

We purchased the "Big Deal" on 11/12. This was for a full roof inspection, refastening,/renail up to 25 tiles, resealing up to 5 plumbing and heating flasjhings. Our first appointment was canceled on the scheduled date and on today's appointment (12/9) was an hour late as per Mr. Boyce. We do understand that in this business you run into problems and appointment are sometimes delayed. Mr. Boyce is a very friendly, outgoing, nice man. However he never brought up the "Big Deal " and he asked why we called him. it was our fault that we did not to bring it up immediately. He did a thorough search, pointed out the problems and gave us an estimate of of $11,000 to the repairs he deemed necessary. After he left we discussed the results and just what exactly the $149 was for. We understood that our home required a lot more work than the "Big Deal" offered us. I called Mr Boyce and eventually he remembered what this was for. After prompting he said he could do some type of small repair for the cost. .We are still not sure just what the BIG DEAL is? The company truck says FREE estimates. So I can only assume that we are paying the company to generate our own lead.. Unfortunately, this is the second Angie's list service that we have tried and found it wanting.

I trusted his judgment, but I didn't feel like my roof was "tuned up" when he left.

They arrived on time and completed the work quickly. Several loose tiles were fixed and the roof was inspected for problems. Very pleased with the service and the company. Would use them again.

The owner of the company came and checked over the roof. He just gave an estimate for $1200. He did not come out to do any work which was suppose to be valued at $400, just gave an estimate. His truck has a sign that states, "Free Estimates". Basically, he charged $149 to give me an estimate for $1200. He said he does not do the work, has workers that would come out and mentioned he would charge $400 just to take a bird's nest off of the roof. Would never do business with this company.

They have done an excellent job for me at a very competitive price and I am very much satisfied. They came for an estimate and the workers showed up the next day. They were done by noon.

Jim Boyce quoted a very reasonable price when compared to two other quotes that we obtained. His foreman, Jose, and their team did a good job, worked around the solar panels, cleaned up after themselves, and finished within the alloted time. They had to replace some wood due to termite damage, which costs extra in accordance with our agreement. If your tiles are particularly dirty, you may want to ask Jim about power washing because that was not included in our job. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Jim and his team for work on Spanish tile roofs.

First, I showed them the concerned areas regarding the roof condition and they said they could fix them within the Big Deal price. They went up on the roof and found more problems. The cost to repair all the problem areas was over $1000, so I did not accept their bid since I needed more time to think about it. They pushed some tiles back in place (about 15-minute work) and left. They did not do the work which was supposed to be included in "Big Deal" I purchased. I feel I paid $159.00 to get an estimate and 15-minute work. Waste of money!

This was an Angie's list Big Deal. I had seen a broken tile on my roof from a neighbor's house above mine and decided to have the roof looked at. The Boyce rep arrived at the appointed hour, carefully inspected the roof, pushed a few tiles around the edges back into place, sealed a few cracks, showed me the pictures of broken tiles he discovered during the inspection. He gave me an assessment of my roof, and recommended replacement of 20 broken tiles. Then he presented me with a quote for $475 to replace the broken tiles. While I appreciate the professionalism and the few minor things he did, it didn't seem like $159 worth of work. I feel like I paid $159 to have someone come out just to give me a quote. I would have felt better if at least part of the Big Deal had applied to the proposed repair. Buyer beware. I had the work done by someone else.

Jim Boyce was first of all clear and easy to reach by phone. On the day of our service, his crew was timely and efficient. He was very thorough and honest. His crew that came to help seemed like men I could trust and enjoy working with. I plan to use this company again the future, once we can afford to make the necessary repairs.

They were excellent. I chose him because I found him on Angie’s List and they have a special going. They are highly professional and they know what they’re doing. When they say they’re going to do something, they do it. They have an excellent roofing staff. There were 3 people who came out and the owner came out occasionally.

We purchased a coupon for the company through Angie's list. What we didn't know was how little could be done for the amount purchased. Although we appreciated the inspection, we did not budget for the list of items that the company came up with to do. Therefore, we could only afford a couple shingle cracks repaired and some nail-heads hammered down. I did not feel we really "got anything" out of the coupon deal. That was stuff we could have done on our own. It would have been much better if the company described the coupon as going "towards" a repair service, not covering full repairs. I understand it's a case by case thing. They were very nice and competent in what they did. I gave their professionalism a "B", maybe "B-" because the worker who came out, just looked like a guy off the street - no company shirt or logo. At first, I didn't know who came to door. I was the only one home, so it was a little disconcerting.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was very good. There were no additional charges. They were very user friendly, punctual and professional.

Provider was punctual and followed up with me to schedule the appointment. Work performed in an efficient manner and they explained to me what was done and the repairs made to the tiles.

Work went well, but the technicians came without notice and I was not at home. They were able to do the work without my being there, but I would have appreciated some notice.

Upon the original quote, he told me it would be a little more than the $159.00 big deal I had purchased. The work went very well, and I am happy with the results - his assistant was a great worker. However, once the work was completed, he told me the remainder of my bill was going to be $900. I suggest that before any work is completed with this company, that you get everything in writing.

The work went well, very professional, and they were totally honest in my opinion of the assessments. They showed me pictures of the areas rather than making me get on the roof. Work was performed in a timely fashion.

I was happy with their professionalism. The true test however, will be with the first rainfall.

They called us after I paid for the big deal. I think that my husband would recommend them. They were very professional and very nice people. They did recommend that we get a new roof. We would use them again.
