Bedrock Solar's team was excellent in all regards of the installation. Jan Strand is the owner and is involved in every aspect of the project, from initial contact, project proposal, obtaining local permits, installation and final inspection. Jan's thoroughness made the installation process very easy for me. I like to know what I am buying, so I had done a LOT of research on solar panels, installation, local requirements. Jan expertise and experience were evident based on my own research. And his willingness to spend time and discuss the entire project were greatly appreciated. As for price, after hearing all the options from the big solar players, I decided that out-right purchase was the best deal for me. Bedrock Solar's quote was about $3,000 LESS than the closest competitor. Big bonus for me! Highly, highly recommend Bedrock Solar. I am posting this review over a year after my work was done. This is because Bedrock Solar just completed installation of solar panels on my daughter's home and she posted an excellent review. So I thought it best to get with the times and provide feedback on my experience with Bedrock Solar.

Living where we do in East County, it seemed a bit foolish not to convert to solar power as we get so much direct and prolonged sunlight for much of the year. Especially considering the higher temps and related power consumption from using our A/C in the summer! The issue for us was always cost and whether or not we were choosing the right company as there are so, SO many out there these days. After meeting with our 5th company, and only the first to not hard sell us (none of that "you WILL buy from me!" nonsense we'd been getting), my father recommended we get a quote from Jan at Bedrock Solar for comparison as he had done my father's installation some time prior and he's has been extremely happy with everything so far. I know my father to be exceedingly detailed in his due diligence, so I did not hesitate in contacting Jan for a quote. He was very personable and quick to respond, with zero pressure. The best part about taking the time to contact him was that his quote came in nearly 25% below the lowest quote we'd been given to purchase a system to date with warranties that were 20% longer! The fact that we'd be supporting a local business only added more icing to the cake. Once we were ready to move forward, Jan took care of all the needed permits and paperwork and kept us up to date with how things were progressing and what our timeline would look like. On his survey visit, we let him know that we'd had some issues finding a reasonably priced contractor to install the solar powered attic fan we purchased some time ago. He let us know that he knew someone (David) that would be able to take care of it while they were doing the solar install. As soon as the city processed the permit, Jan contacted us to schedule and we were off and running. The team started work on Tuesday morning and actually had the panels fully installed by the end of the day. The attic fan was also installed by that time though we ran into the issue of the house having no gable vents (odd). David advised that he would come back the following day with the rest of the team and take care of cutting the vents while they took care of final adjustments to the solar system. He did a fantastic job! The vents look like they've always been there and thanks to the attic fan getting proper ventilation, the temp in our house dropped by 5 - 7 degrees almost immediately! While he was doing that, the rest of the team were taking care of the two requests I had (to trim the rails and tie up the cables for cleaner aesthetics and my own OCD sanity) as well as painting the conduit to/from the breaker box to help it blend in with the roof and house. Everything now looks like it has always been there! At this point, the novelty of watching our meter run backward has not worn off and I'm not sure that it will for a while yet. I'm so thrilled we went with Bedrock Solar. There were truly professional in their work, looked out for our cats and dog while they were working so that none got out (as they often attempt to do), and assisted us in finding someone to completed the installation of our much-needed attic fan. For a cost comparison there, I had reached out to several AL providers and the lowest quote I had received was for $600 to install with no cutting of vents. Had the vents not needed to be cut, the charge for the day's work would have been $300 and as mentioned, the work done was excellent. I would highly recommend you reach out to Jan at Bedrock Solar if you are looking to take the plunge to renewable energy. You will not be disappointed!
