From the day he claimed he would come back, send me over a scope of work he will perform, I HAVE NEVER HEARD FROM HIM. I have left MANY messages via phone and email. NO RESPONSE. I even had a contractor friend call him (who was present with me the day he said that he was at fault for his work), and he told my friend that he would "call me later in the afternoon to set up a time to meet." Of course, no calls were ever attempted. He is a complete liar and totally unprofessional. I have been more than disappointed with his unprofessional attitude and work ethic. I told him I'd be flexible on when the work could be done, gave him many chances but he STILL decided to be unresponsive. I have filed a complain with the Contractors State License Board and they reached out to him for a response. Of course, he didn't respond to them. I am WARNING EVERYONE not to use R.J. Clark and Company (Oakland) for ANY services. This dilemma is still going on and I am certain I will "win." He will have to pay for his work that he installed improperly. I will not spend another penny. And in the meantime, I hope nobody uses him and his business fails. This is the wrong attitude to posses with your customers and unwillingness to make amends for work done wrong.
Description of Work: I hired RJ Clark & Company 3 threes ago to perform a variety of services, including tiling my existing balconies. The entire job was $25,000 which I paid promptly. In Jan. 09, I realized that I had massive amounts of MOLD inside my garage-- right below my balcony. Water has been permeating through the walls and into the garage leaving dangerous levels of mold. I called back Ron Clark, the contractor who installed it and said something is not correct-- plus, it's very dangerous to have been breathing in all this mold over the years. The balcony work wasn't installed properly from the beginning and water continued to leak thus causing puddles on the balcony, water/rust stains on the front of my house from the excess water, leakage and mold into my garage, below the balcony. When I called Ron to come review all this, it took him a while to come. Eventually he did and removed the sheetrock with all the mold. Then he performed a water test to see where the leak was coming from. It was obvious it was from the above balcony and he ADMITTED the WORK WAS INSTALLED IMPROPERLY FROM DAY ONE. He then said once the "rain season" ends he will bring out his crew to redo the entire balcony at his cost. Of course, that is where the problem lies.
