Omega Termite and Pest Control

Omega was the most responsive and most reasonably priced business that I talked to. They provided a free quote, and were very punctual. I’ll use them again.

Absolutely terrific service. A+ to the woman who answered the phone. She explained my choices thoroughly. And A+ to Terry, the technician who came out a couple days later. He was thorough, explained the contract, and came on the early side of the two-hour window (which I had requested). He made me feel safe about having pets in the house, explaining all the different green and less green options. I showed him around to the areas where ants had been. He also took care of the perimeter of the house and garden. The ants are gone. But, if they come back, they offer a four-week guarantee. I'd absolutely use Omega again.

I am so glad I found Omega Pest Control. They were out to see me immediately and helped put my mind at ease regarding the rats that had entered my home. They are experts in addressing rats and exceptionally professional. Every single visit was met with swiss style punctuality. The representatives were intelligent, professional and took the time to explain what was happening and how I could prevent further rat intrusions. Omega helped me fix all of the areas that were entry points and did a thorough clean up. If you have the unfortunate experience of having rats come into your house, Omega is a fantastic company to work with.

Omega was the group hired by the listing real estate agent for a house we purchased in Oakland; the inspection suggested that there was termite activity and that "further inspection was needed." We called to schedule service as soon as we purchased the house; they were booking 4 weeks out. We also had them come back to do the "further inspection" where they basically said that there's a portion of the house that's inaccessible and would need to have the structural reinforcement of the foundation removed in order to access it for treatment which would cost an additional $1500. Why they couldn't have said that on the original report is beyond me. Fast forward and the day of our appointment comes. I took off a half day from work and they no-showed. I called to follow up and they said, "sorry, we had to fire a guy." So apparently they fire people without rescheduling their appointments. To me, a lack of customer service is the biggest red flag when it comes to using a service company. They made no amends for wasting my time and so I'll be paying an extra amount to have a different group come inspect.

I ended up using Omega but I am not satisfied with them. They quote at one price and the quality of the work wasn't worth the quote. I thought we came to an agreement about a reduction and then they continue to ask for $50. They started off with way too much and the quality of the work kind a looked amateurish. So I wouldn't recommend them. I wouldn't use them again. It was $600 and it wasn't worth the quality of the work they did. I could've probably got a handyman to do the work. They used the spray they you could've buy from Costco Home Depot yourself. They use [2:59] instead of using netting and just really putting some professional time into it. It was poorly done. They lie about reducing the price and they charged me more. You don't tell a customer you are gonna reduce it and then adding another $50 you didn't agree to. They said if you want us to redo the work you got to be there the whole time. I'm like oh I would have to take off work or you guys to redo what you should've done. Why do I need to be here you are crawling under the house. You should be able to do it without my taking off work. That was a really unreasonable. They were on time. The guy was nice who did the work. The worker shouldn't suffer.

The initial inspection was thorough and the inspector was very informative. Based on the report, we decided to go ahead with the tenting and also have them do some of the minor repair work. The crew that came out were very prompt, professional and thorough. They were pretty careful about not damaging landscaping and putting things away afterwards. We were very pleased with the whole process and plan to use Omega for some of the other repair work as well.

We haven't had any problems and it works very well. We live on a hill side so we got a 3 story home that is build into a hill side so they have to spray all of the hill side as well. Its a the most reasonable rates we were able to find and we really like the service. We don't have to call them they call us. They are proactive and trustworthy. They service is excellent. They are professional, Nice and enjoyable to work with. They require no contract. The prices are reasonable.

This was their 3rd visit and we plan to stay w/ this company as others have not been as reliable in the past.

They would have been happy to do the repairs but they were just as happy to allow me to contact my own handyman.

I had a very positive experience. They were very prompt and Jeff was very efficient and personable. I also found the price to be quite fair.

He found no evidence of termites or rodents but did point out several areas of evidence of other wood-damaging beetles. He also noted past water incursion and its effects, which i was not expecting. If i had known he was going to include water damage, i would have made these repairs in advance. As it was, the report prevented me from getting approved for a refinance of the mortgage. It was good that i was made aware of these problems, but it was a big inconvenience and expense.

Our Omega Pest Inspection was overall a good experience. We requested their services for the home that we were considering to buy. The inspection was very thorough and the inspector carefully detailed everything he found, and ended up being resolved by the seller. While it was a newer ~10 year old home and did not have much rot or pests, there was one spot that the inspector identified as having minor water damage from a one time leak. It turns out it was an active leak from rain (it was a sunny day during the inspection). Not a big deal, but still, it would've been nice to have been identified before we closed.

They were super responsive and fast to come out. They quickly found the potential entry points. Laid traps and developed a plan to check traps and seal the entries. Even pushed us to seal the entries ourselves to save some dough but we asked them to do it any way to make sure it was done right. Fast, efficient, reasonably priced and professional. Very happy!

Omega was able to send someone out the next day to inspect and trap rodents on our property. The $300 covered an investigation into where the rodents were getting in and advice on how to block them, as well as a total of 4 visits to trap and remove the rodents. The technician that was sent did not have experience on how to repair the rodent damage, nor could he quote us a price for any additional work, he could only explain what was going on, how the rodents were getting in, and how to block them. We could however request someone else to come out from Omega to give us an estimate for additional work such as structural repair, repair of rodent damage, etc. Overall I was happy with the company's professionalism, and that they were able to come out so quickly. I like that they trap rather than poison the rodents. I like that Omega can also do structural/repair work, and I don't mind having to call out a different person that specializes in a different area (instead of having someone giving me advice that may not be qualified to give it).

I called Omega for a bid as I was going to get 2 other estimates. They insisted on seeing the other bids before they would consider giving me a price. Since when is this a fair practice? They were not very nice over the phone. I told them I just wanted the best price they could give me. They refused unless they saw the other bids. We went around like this (I am not sure why I continued to argue with them) until I finally said that they are probably not the company for me. Very bad customer relations.

They are responsive. They get the job done. I would use them in the future.

Terry from Omega has been just terrific. Punctual, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Exterminator is not my favorite call to make, but he has made it OK. We were at wits end and tried everything we knew how to do and what advice we could follow. He knew just what needed to be done, did what he said he was going to do, and followed up to make sure everything was OK. He caught what needed to be caught and helped us look at preventing anything in the future. If I have to do this again, I'll do it with Omega!

They had given me a list of to do prep work before they came to my house. They were on time. Once they arrived at my place they went over what they will do and how it will help me and then started the work. they were done with in 2 hours. They did a thorough job. They came back to my house after two weeks to see if there were any bed bugs, if yes they would spray more medicine. Luckyly they found no bedbugs. I called them after a month for a doubt that my wife had regarding a bug we had found, they came by promptly and explained. Touch wood we do not have any bed bugs now, it has been a year since we got their service.

Very good, initially we couldn't find the nest as it was mid-day. They told me what to look for at night to track the nest. They did not charge for the first trip. Once I found the nest I called them back out and they exterminated at that time.

The owners of the house I am buying contracted with them; I don't know much else. They do inspections, pest eradication, stuff like that. Their inspector was great and their prices are good. I will continue to use them in the future.

Earlier this year, we suddenly discovered rat droppings in our house shortly after we cleaned out a rarely used tool shed in the backyard. We found the droppings in the living room, kitchen, and dining room initially, and believed we had mice. I thought I could take care of the problem myself so I bought and set some traps in those rooms. Over the next couple of weeks, I solicited advice from family, friends, and salespeople from different hardware stores regarding a variety of traps and bait. I also researched online, reading hundreds of product reviews and general suggestions about eradicating rodents. Nothing I tried made any difference, and the situation grew more frustrating and unpleasant as the food bait even disappeared but no rodents were caught. In the mornings, we saw partially shredded chair cushions, tablecloth, carpet mats, etc., and even woke up several nights hearing the rat or rats gnawing on our closed bedroom doors. In desperation, I checked out Angie's List for exterminators, read the various reviews, and chose Omega in Oakland to come to the rescue. And that's just what they did! I called and spoke to Matt, who told me they were temporarily short-handed but he would have one of his techs get back to me soon and hopefully someone could come out within the next week. In light of past experiences with other contractors and bearing in mind that he'd said they were short-handed, I didn't expect to actually hear back "soon." But I did. Matt called the next day just to touch base, and the following day, Jeremy called. Again due to prior experiences with other companies, I braced myself for the news that nobody could come out for another week or even more. Wrong again. Jeremy came out the next day, even though we live on the Peninsula. And he was great! He was not only punctual, he was early. He was informative, thorough, and generally very helpful, not to mention polite, pleasant, and often funny. We made the necessary arrangements and scheduled his weekly visits. He surveyed the situation, both indoors and outside, suggested preventive measures, offered advice about the various types of traps (including all the things I'd done wrong in my misguided efforts to do the job myself), explained some of the habits of rats and mice, and generally provided reassurance. And to top things off, that very day he caught and killed a rat that he'd flushed out while setting traps -- using nothing more than a flashlight! I'm pretty sure that particular service isn't generally offered by exterminators, but Jeremy saw a chance to get the job done, at least partially, and didn't hesitate. I knew then we were in good hands. To try to prevent future problems, Jeremy sealed one of the rats' means of entry and suggested other things I could do to keep them out. Since I couldn't afford to have everything done by Omega, and was unwilling to trust any other company, my brother later helped me implement some of Jeremy's advice. I really appreciated that Jeremy didn't try to talk me into spending more than I could afford but was willing to point out areas of concern. That kind of helpfulness seems more and more rare these days, particularly in the current economic environment. To sum up, we soon were rat-free and still are. It was an incredible relief to my family and me, and we owe it all to Omega. I highly recommend the company, and would like to thank Matt and especially Jeremy for taking good care of us. (I apologize for taking so long to write my evaluation, but my life became quite chaotic for awhile. I never forgot, though, and finally found the time to sit down and really explain what an excellent job Omega did for us.) Great company, great job, guys!
