Here’s how I pick a service provider: First I go on-line to look over the options, then I read all the reviews, and then I call one company directly to chat. If they impress me, I ask them to come and view the job site, then give me a bid. This time, after a review of the MANY high-quality reviews for Mastercraft Interiors, I contacted Scott, the owner of Mastercraft Custom Interiors. We chatted, he came by the next day (a Tuesday), he saw the site, we discussed the job and colors, he delivered a detailed the bid the next day, we accepted same day. The very next day, he came by with color books to choose from, we discussed them at great length, then he directed me to a quality local paint store to get samples to try out. I got them, slapped on the walls, decided it was good and told Scott it was a go. I thought for sure it would be weeks before we got started and got done, which worried me as I have a very complicated travel schedule. To my pleased amazement, Scott somehow rearranged his life, worked from Saturday through Tuesday, was back Wednesday to put all the switch and outlet covers back on, helped me put a few tricky shelves back on the walls, and was packed up, cleaned up and out mid-day. It was awesome. It was a very tricky paint job as a bad remodeling job 15 years ago created some fancy footwork to paint in some areas. I’ve never seen such an efficient team (Scott + Jerri, a licensed professional who also got right to work). Incredibly meticulous painting, extremely careful about clean up. Just a beautiful job all around, including some delicate patching and caulking to address the poor workmanship from years ago. Scott is a master craftsman, he not only helped pick paint out by suppling many Benjamin Moor colors, but told me where to go to get the small sample paints. He prepped, filled spots in the ceiling of my 112 year old home and then prepped, sanded and final coats of paint. To tell the truth, I first thought the “owl gray” maybe a bit to blue, but once dried it was exactly what he said it would be and what I wanted. The ceiling is simply white as is the top molding down to the picture rails which are black, the walls are owl gray and the baseboards simply white, this gives the feeling of vaulted ceilings in both the front room and dining room. The built in china cabinet is done in simply white along with the windows in both rooms. I am a carpenters daughter that loves natural wood, however Scott had a really tough time convincing me that leaving all the window casings the natural wood varnished would not look right with the rest of my plan, that it would look miss matched- he was right!!!! And I am so very grateful for his knowledge I now love my living room & dining room and can’t wait to put my new dining room lamp on the ceiling. I highly recommend Scott for any interior painting, I was amazed he uses no tape but free hands all straight lines, I actually sat and watched and couldn’t believe it. This man is fabulous and when I do the kitchen he will be the first person I call. Thank you Scott for such a wonderful job done quickly along with agreeing to do 1 room at a time because I had no where else to put my furniture. Your a true gem.

Scott was great! I hired Scott to paint the inside of my condo before I moved in. The work was executed really well, and he was very easy to work with. Aside from painting, he also went above and beyond in fixing some holes and a section of peeled back wall surface that looked pretty bad before he got started. My condo looks great now, and I would absolutely recommend Mastercraft for interior painting work.

This is the second time we've used Scott & Mastercraft for painting in Berkeley, and both times it's been fantastic. This last job even required some tedious paint matching and touchup behind a newly installed toilet and Scott was happy to do it savings us from repainting the whole bathroom.

Great. Scott is a skilled painter and at the end of the project I was amazed how smoothly it went. I had dreaded having the painting done, but Scott and his team were efficient, cleaned as they went from area and area, and kept me informed about the progress and estimated time for completion. I wanted to stay in my house while it was being painted. Scott arranged for our bedroom to be completed first, followed by my office.. I was able to keep working and out of their way throughout the painting project. They never made me feel like my presence was a problem for them. The new paint has made all the rooms look freshened up. I wouldn't have waited so long to have them painted if I'd known it could be accomplished so efficiently and pleasantly.

Scott Wojno of Mastercraft is indeed a master! He knows about color; he knows about coverage. He does what he says he's going to do--with enthusiasm and imagination--and he does it on time. You could not ask for a better painter. I was moving back to the Bay Area, and I ended up needing to have the house painted while I was still in Chicago. As a rule, I want to be present when I'm having work done, so I was a little apprehensive. But Scott did a perfect job and finished exactly when he said he would. When I arrived with my moving truck, the house was beautiful: painted to perfection, and every room was clean and ready to occupy. I cannot recommend Mastercraft highly enough!
