I can't recommend Jim Gardener Construction highly enough. The extensive structural work on my property was completed on schedule and on budget and I am completely happy with the work. Jim did a thorough inspection, provided me with a detailed estimate, and answered all of my questions prior to beginning the job. Job foreman Luis & his crew arrived every morning at 8 and got straight to work. Some of the work required that they work in my neighbors' driveway and the crew communicated well with them before and during the process and were very respectful of my neighbors' property. Jim was available by phone & email throughout the project and responded to my concerns and questions promptly & thoroughly. Once the project was completed the crew cleaned up so well you never would have known they were there. Jim came by to inspect the work upon completion and answered all my remaining questions. All in all, this was a very positive experience. I hope all of my future home improvement projects go this smoothly!

I called and left a meg gage 2 x regarding wanting to get an estimate. Never got a call back from anyone.

They did a fabulous job! They replaced our stairs. H did a great job, very impressive. Everybody that he had working with him, were fabulous, and they came right on time and they did everything perfectly. They were very impressive. He was expensive but totally worth it. His workers were terrific. The way the bricks were laid out was perfect. The way they were working together was perfect. They were such a great team. They were exquisite. They were highly recommended. The railings that they put in were perfect.

Jim and his crew completed a driveway job for us in August 2012. They started on time and completed the job almost within a week and within budget, and this was a large driveway (fits four cars) on a slope with drainage issues. Jim was great to work with and his crew couldn't have been nicer, especially to the neighbors who were impacted by the job almost as much as we were.

He is fabulous. My husband and I are familiar with contractor's work since we have done five houses in the last fifteen years. He absolutely told us the time frame that he would be done. He was finished with the work at the time he said he would be finished. He is a good communicator.

I have a detached building that was originally constructed as a garage, then crudely converted (by previous owners) to living quarters about 40 years ago. By 2009, the structure had deteriorated to near-collapse and I hired a contractor to renovate all but the slab. The first winter after completing that work, water seeped in around the slab and thru the section of the original foundation that had not been replaced. A French drain had been installed along the rear and one side of the structure 20 years earlier, but it had not been positioned low enough to be effective. The slab along the rear wall is below grade and the original French drain had been located ABOVE the slab. At that point, I interviewed several contractors to correct the drainage problem and ndash; and hired Jim Gardner Construction. Jim struck me as being very knowledgeable. He was willing to discuss the problem and options in great detail, answering all my many questions. He also helped me understand the differences between his bid and that of a competitor. His bid was higher, but I felt more confident that his proposal would be more effective at correcting the problems. Together we nailed down the details, resolving several issues involving where to locate, wire, and drain the new sump pump. When work began, Jim arrived with a large crew that worked steadily and efficiently. They showed up on time and cleaned up at the end of each day, taking care not to damage any plants. They were especially diligent not to damage or disturb parts of the existing irrigation system located where they'd planned to run the pipe from the sump pump to the street. On top of that, the workers were very pleasant and friendly. Quite a few times during the job, a separate crew removed huge piles of accumulated debris. The workers also helped me out by removing the toilet, washer, dryer, and hot water heater (plus many large and small stored items) from the garage before beginning to demo the old slab. They also returned and ndash; at my convenience and ndash; several months after job completion to move everything back inside. If I ever need more foundation and/or drainage work done, I would definitely hire Jim Gardner Construction again.
