.Dick's Carpet One was wonderful from start to finish. Dan came to give us our estimate, and we were immediately impressed with his extensive knowledge of available products, and what would look the best. We felt totaly confident that he had taken care of every aspect of the project...everything from putting in new baseboards, to wood choices and floor vent options. We chose red oak to match the kitchen - 2-1/2" planks. The wood was unfinished, and would be set, sanded, stained and then finished with two coats of finish. They brought our wood to the house about 10 days in advance so that it could acclimate to our home climate and moisture level. The crew arrived to begin the project, and we couldn't have asked for a better bunch of guys. They were friendly, fast, knowlegable and helped us with everything from moving our furniture with great care to choosing stain and finish coating. They were very considerate of the fact that we were living in the house during the installation, and took every consideration to protect our furniture in rooms that were not being altered and to shield us from dust as much as possible.The installation took 12 days from start to finish, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. Our floors look fabulous! I'd recommend Dick's Carpet One for anyone getting hardwood floors without hesitation.

Flooring neatly installed but some splattering of adhesive on walls & cabinets which was not cleaned up by installer. When refrigerator needed to be moved the plastic rollers on the under surface created unsightly grooves and tracks in the new floor. The company refused to fix the damage stating that, "moving a refrigerator is not considered normal wear & tear but actually abuse". I sent an email to BR-111 Exotic Hardwood Flooring and they did not respond. The people with whom I spoke were very polite but I don't think rolling a refrigerator on a kitchen floor constitutes abuse. That the manufacturer would not even respond to my email makes it very unlikely that I would buy their product again. The quality of the work was good. One board chipped and needed to be replaced. There was no charge but the repair work was sloppy - glue left on adjacent floorboards. Failing to repair normal wear & tear of damage to the floor caused by sliding a refrigerator on its casters is bad.
