 + -1 morePaul was quick, efficient and very professional. He even took a look at our remaining 3 chimneys while he was on the roof!!! He was kind enough to provide me with some good quality info on all the chimneys as well as recommending a remedy for the smoking fireplace. I was impressed that he did not pressure me to have him install the recommended remedy. Instead, he told me that I can easily order it online and have my husband install it. When I asked him how much he would charge to install it for us, the pricing he quoted was reasonable and he even mentioned that he have the parts and can return the next day to install it. Based on my experience with 3 other chimney guys, I would DEFINITELY recommend Paul!!
Description of Work: Paul cleaned and inspected our fireplace in the study. He noted that we were missing a rain cap and offered to install one for us.

 + -1 moreHe cleaned the chimney in 07 and also installed the "rain cap" atop the outside of the chimney. In 09 I called him back to clean the chimney again. Paul is fast, clean, lovely to be around - with his beautiful English accent and earthy charm - and he is honest. He told me I only need to get my chimney cleaned every 2-3 years (per my usage). A good guy. His surname suits him well. Goodacre.
Description of Work: Twice I have called upon Paul to clean my chimney, in 07 and 09...I heard of him "word of mouth", before I was an Angie's List member. The above date listed is not accurate. Frankly, I don't remember exactly what dates he was here. But it was twice, and this winter was the most recent visit. Just wanted to give him a gold star rating so that he will get more business, as he so deserves!

 + -1 morePaul did an excellent cleaning job on the chimney. The ash dump door was completely broken. Rather than try to sell me something I didn't need (I never use the ash dump,) Paul suggested I simply block the ash dump with a simple sheet of heavy-duty metal for just $20. I know a new door would have cost much more. Paul was on time, pleasant and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need.
Description of Work: Paul swept the chimney and cut a metal square to cover the ash dump.
