Canova Marble INC.

I am a general contractor and I did an extensive remodel and addition on my residence within the past 12 months. I hired Canova marble to install quartz on my counter-top and island late in 2016. The slab was delivered to their shop sometime after that. And my kitchen was ready for quartz installation in July. The lead time to template was 2 weeks. And the lead time to fabricate was 10-15 business days. (4-5 weeks total) When they came out to template, we were told that the project couldn't be templated because the sub-top was not installed. They also couldn't tell us how thick of a sub-top we needed due to the fact that the cabinet doors were not installed. I put them in touch with the cabinet maker to determine the door set-up and thickness of the sub-top. They spoke several times. I called back a few days later to speak to Robert JR to make sure everything was in order but was greeted by Robert, the father and owner. Despite having talked with the cabinet maker, he refused to provide us with any assistance in determining the measurement of the sub-top that he needed us to install on the island and waterfall. Robert was very combative and employed a very terse attitiude right off the bat. He then proceeded to say "It's not my fault you hired a bad general contractor" and continued with "This isn't the middle east", and "shut your f*cking mouth you f*ck"... So I told him to get our slab ready. He subsequently slapped us with a storage and delivery bill to give us the slab back. All in all, the worst sub I've ever worked with. Robert lacks the professionalism to work with you to find solutions and resolve problems. Robert is racist. Robert doesn't deserve your business. Stay aware and beware.
