We had a great experience having our furnace replaced with Atlas Heating and Air Conditioning. A different company originally recommended that our furnace be replaced and we got estimates from a total of three companies. Atlas was reasonably priced. The estimator Keith was very responsive and patiently answered a number of questions about various options. He gave frank assessments about what would be involved in a two-stage furnace, higher-efficiency furnace, central A/C in addition, or a heat pump. The installer Joe arrived right on time, worked all day, clearly explained our new thermostat, and left the work area cleaner than he found it. He also patiently answered my questions about maintenance. We're still waiting to complete the permit and MERS inspection but overall we've had a great experience.

Great contractor. Punctual, helpful, professional. Definitely knows the business and the intricacies. Did not end up doing the work as the overall project was too much $. But a great experience with them getting a quote.

I did not use Atlas, but their representative was extremely professional and great with follow up. l. In the end however it came down to price and scope of work.

Unless they were using a power tool, I didn't know that they were here. They were here for three days. The guy had to come up the stairs and into the house and two new holes to put duct work too. I never knew he was there. When he left upstairs there wasn't a speck of sawdust or sheet rock. Total with electrician to run a line was under $8,000. I have three other bids. They asked for the square footage of every room in the house, the size of the windows, a complete layout of where the ductwork was and everything else, so they could go back and do the math to see if the unit would fit, it's a relatively new furnace would be sufficient to the house. Everybody just came in and said you need this unit. If there's an A+ for installation, I'd give them that. I would use them again, anytime. They're price was middle low for what I got.

I have them come every year to check on my furnace. The quality is good.

Excellently. We discussed my needs. I was given options appropriate for my single-story house of 900 square feet, and the pros and cons of each options were clearly explained. I made my choice, then the Atlas crew completed the work on time and cleanly. I have had cozy winters and comfortable summers ever since!

Most things went well, except for one thing. the duct work needed to be installed higher at the entrance to the laundry room, which I had to point out. This was promptly done. They did give me a small discount in the beginning and told me about a 6 month installment pay plan, which I took advantage of.

I made the mistake of saying 'sump'. The response was 'We don't do plumbing, nothing that involves water'. My insistence that the 'sump' was part of the furnace fell on deaf ears. Needless to say I said 'Thank you' and ended the call. Updated: The owner contacted me with sincere apologies for the mistake made by a new employee. The owner gave me a certificate for a discount on future work. She demonstrated the kind of responsiveness and professional that corresponds to the good ratings Atlas has received.

very professional. I worked there as a Sheet Metal Apprentice. That was some 30 years ago. I knew from my experience working there that the job would be done to my satisfaction. They even came out to do a service call after the warranty was up on my furnace but they repaired it for free. Simple adjustment on the gas valve and it was perfect. They were a great employer then and still deliver quality.

I called to ask if they can take a look of my project in Sausalito and they answered me " we don't go that far". I check again their website and it still says " We serve Alameda-Contra Costa- San Francisco- Marin county". Very lousy.

The system worked great after the repair. The original A/C system installer had not properly estimated the amount of air space required to cool a house of 2200 square feet. Atlas determined the problem and took care of business!

Other than a hickup with an external vendor work was very well done, system works. Atlas worked around city of piedmont noise ordinances, and was able to handle exterior look objections at city hall to get approval. Passed inspection with out any problems. Their external electric contractor worked well. We've used atlas before for heating and AC issues at other properties and will use them again.

The cost was $4,000 for two different units. It was a tough job. I have used them before. They are pretty reliable. I am a retired contractor and I also used them on a job for me. They moved an air conditioning unit for me. They were good on that one too. I would tell a friend to give them a call. They are responsive and they have done well for me.

Although I know they are on the expensive side I feel the work was pretty good overall. I only scored them a B on quality as they left a 3" x 3" hole in my wall above the new thermostat which they did not fix even after I requested that they do so. Otherwise they were very professional. They showed up on time and completed the work in the time frame they said they would. I would most likely use them again but after checking a couple of other options as well. Update: They finally called me back in regard to the hole in the wall and promptly set up a time for them to repair it. They showed up on time on the scheduled repair date and fixed the issue. I am very happy with the results as well as their customer service overall.

Mike Sherman showed up on time and was very professional. He spent quite a bit of time taking measurements, asking questions, and answering ours. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient during the process. Afterwards, he was prompt with the initial estimate and continued answering more questions. Due to a planned vacation, I wasn't in touch with Mike for some months, but once we reconnected, everything got back on track. There were some communication issues that delayed the process, but given the busy time of year, it's understandable. When it came time to schedule the work, Will was the primary onsite and did a fantastic job. He was on time, professional, knowledgeable, patient...much like Mike. Additional communication problems lead to the install being delayed, but they were promptly corrected. When I expressed some frustration over the issues, Lisa, the manager and owner, immediately addressed them and went above and beyond to smooth things over. Given the consistently good ratings, I know my experience was a fluke. Mistakes happen, it's a part of life. It's what you do to correct them that counts and Atlas ensured I will remain a loyal customer for years to come. Thank you guys for the awesome overall experience. We're loving our A/C already!

They definitely deserve an A. I have had 2 basic maintenance services since then. The service was very professional. I have experienced no problems with the product.

We divided our approx 2k sq ft home into 2 units (upstairs/downstairs) so mom could move in downstairs. For this reason, it was very important to have a separate control system for the heat. The house isn't exactly huge for 2 units so it was very difficult to find the right heating system that could manage this request. We were told by our architect and also by our building contractor that we needed someone very experienced to do the job so we could be sure the correct unit is installed. We had several companies come out and with each request, we asked for the most experienced person to visit our home for the quote. When I called Atlas and explained our specific needs, I was connected with Bob Tuck, the owner. He came out the following week and did an VERY THOROUGH inspection. He spent much more time than any of the other contractors and provided us with a very detailed description of his recommendation and why he make each choice. My husband and I were very impressed. The other companies also seemed quite good but we just KNEW that Bob was going to get the job done right. There was no question. Although Atlas were slightly more expensive, we were happy to choose them to complete the job. I'd rather pay a little more now and make sure it's right the first time. We also needed a new custom built air intake that was in an awkward position in our home and we obviously wanted to keep as much of the existing duct work as possible. Atlas was able to do both. There were several unavoidable issues that came up throughout the installation and Atlas managed each one quickly and professionally. Bob came out on the first day to make sure his team had a very clear understanding of what needed to happen. He provided them with detailed drawings and they seemed to know exactly what they were doing. All of the staff were courteous and respectful of our home. It was a great team of people altogether. We had some issues with the inspectors but it was NOT because Atlas did not do their job. There was poor communication with the city workers which caused delays. Bob and his team were here to help us through all of it and we got a terrific product in the end. We've been using the unit now for nearly 2 months and it's terrific. Much quieter (nice surprise) and much more efficient than our previous unit. Both zones are working great independently and also when they demand heat at the same time. We're so pleased that we went with Atlas!

They installed a furnace in my parent's house in the 1950's.

It went fine. They came and made recommendations. I expected it to be the kind of thing that they found problems and they wanted to upsell services but they just didn't. He told me it was actually in great working condition and we don't need probably anyone for 10 years. They were probably at my house for about 45 minutes. He didn't have enough coolant. He offered to come back another day, but I wasn't able to take that much time off of work. That was a little frustrating, but it was not a big deal. I would probably give them 4 stars.
