All Seasons has provided quality construction services since 1993. In the past several years the company’s focus has become foundations and drainage – areas that are particularly important when you consider the age of the homes in the area, the abundance of hills and California’s winter rains. Proper retaining walls, concrete application and drainage systems are critical to keeping your home protected from rainfall, ground water and runoff. Replacement of old, failing foundations is critical to keeping your home safe and still standing after the next big earthquake.
All Seasons’ experienced foremen supervise every job and ensure that all work will stand the test of time and mother nature.
We build beautiful decks, too!

It took a while for them to get started, due, at least in part, to the pandemic, but once they started the project they were great. The crew were prompt, professional, and friendly. Jeremy, Chan, & Miguel were always extremely patient in answering all of my questions and and responded quickly to resolve any concerns I had. I was sure, I would lose some of my long term plants near where the trench for the drain had to be dug, but in all but one, unavoidable, instance they were careful to leave them undisturbed. If one can call a french drain beautiful, mine is beautiful. We had a massive atmospheric river pass through this area right after the project was finished and the french drain worked like a charm -- not one drop of moisture under the house. In addition, the All Seasons crew often went above & beyond what was expected, rebuilding some steps & shoring up part of my old deck. I'm very pleased with the job they did and would hire them again.
Description of Work: Bring piers & posts in crawl space up to code. installation of french drain around perimeter of house.
I picked up this company because I saw one of their staff members working on a house when I was walking by. I was very impressed by what he was doing. After I called the office, the manager Jeremy came to my house several times to assess what needed to be done. He is an excellent guy. He did a thorough assessment and explained to me what the plan would be and gave me some suggestions. He was very honest and openly discussed with me what options I had. Besides needing to install the drainage pipes and pump, he also suggested connecting the main drainage pipes to the tool shed trench, because the tool shed trench had no outlet. Before the project started, when I had questions, he always responded very quickly and he updated me frequently when they would start the project because their schedule was very tight. During the process, the workers are excellent and very efficient. They did an awesome job. When they started this project, I also wanted to add another project to add concrete to my side path. Jeremy came again and did another assessment and gave me a very reasonable price. I am very satisfied with what they did for me. In the middle of the process, when the first Lead Foreman had a medical problem, Jeremy tried very hard to arrange the second Lead Foreman to come help. I was very impressed. The whole process ran very smoothly. I highly recommended this company. No matter their field workers or the office workers, they are all very nice, professional, and efficient. They are willing to answer your questions and work with you.
Description of Work: My basement had been leaking during the raining season since I bought this house in 1997. I had two previous contractors try to solve the problem but the problem was never solved. I paid quite a bit of money to these two contractors.

Sorry for the delay writing the review; I just got a reminder from Angie's List. Mark was great to work with. He gave us several ideas and options. Helped us work through cost vs benefit of various options and gave some out of the box ideas too. We went with a traditional French Drain. It was well done. The team lead, Miguel, and his crew were great overall - worked hard, communicated well, got things done well and quickly. It has been a few years and IT WORKED! We no longer get our streams through the garage. Yay!!! My slight disappointments were mainly communication & follow up: a new treatment was used on our concrete without notification - or instructions to us; when I contacted the company with questions / issues after the work was completed, I did not get a response (they didn't even follow up to see how the treatment worked and we were told we were the first they used it on); the guys broke a couple things in the yard & didn't admit it (Not worth anything, but we saw parts of a bird feeder in the debris pile. I just want people to be honest if something happens.) I'll chalk that up to lessons learned and just make sure I ask enough questions. Overall, they did a great job and I would recommend them.

In the process of getting our old house in the Oakland hills ready to sell, we used All Seasons Construction to do a major French Drains project. It went well and we were pleased with the work. The previous owners of our new home were not so kind as to have this work done for us. We contacted All Seasons first for an inspection by Mark and then for the actual trenching and drain installation. His people work hard and do hard work; in both instances much of the labor was by hand. Part of this job required work under the house and entry through a living area. At all times the crew was careful and neat. They had to work around the mid December rain storm, but got the job done as quickly as was possible. There was no point at which they could have been working when they were not. This is not something I ever expect to have to do again, but if the occasion arose I would have no hesitation calling All Seasons again and recommend them without reservation.

We have a small house (1000 sq. ft) built in 1946. We'd been meaning to strap the house to the foundation for 10 years, and the Napa quake in August 2014 finally got us to do it. I called in September, and Mark came out within a couple of weeks to do the estimate. He was nice and professional. The estimate was 10,500, and this was the final cost of the job. They were busy with other jobs, so they didn't get to our job until late November. There were three workers and they finished the job in a week. The arrived between 8:00 and 8:30 each morning, and finished by 3. The workers were efficient, clean, nice, and professional. We are very happy with the work that was done, and also very happy with All Seasons Construction. It was a very good experience, and we'd use them again for any contractor needs.

Our 1910-era bungalow had its front corner pillars sinking into the ground & pulling away from the house. Besides this, the sinking pillar on one side was causing our driveway to shift, leaving us with a growing gap at the sidewalk end of the driveway. We hired an engineer to draw up plans to remedy the situation, and the solution entailed sinking 5" steel posts down to bedrock, one within each of the four pillars along the front of the house. We also chose to rebuild the driveway. Among other bidders on the project, Mark studied the plans & gave us a pair of options, which ended up saving us $10K - $15K over other bidders. The team that Mark pulled together managed to do the job in 2/3 the time he had originally estimated. The demolition & subsequent construction went without a hitch; while the house definitely looked like work was being done, the crew cleaned up all debris daily, and there was never any problem with getting into and out of the house, despite all the stuff going on. When a potential issue arose regarding drainage for our new driveway, the foreman mentioned it to me & we had a brief discussion with Mark. We were able to do the right thing without any slippage in the schedule, and at a modest bump in cost. Our house looks virtually the same as it had prior to the work, with two important exceptions: the pillars are nice and plumb, and the driveway runs smoothly to the street without the growing gap it had earlier. How'd it go? I couldn't be happier with the whole process. Well, if it had been instantaneous and totally without charge, yeah, but as far as experiences in this life go, it was pretty much positive.
Description of Work: Reinforced pillars along the front of our house, rebuilt driveway. (NOTE: When I proof-read the review, I saw the category listed as "Drain Pipe Installation - Exterior" ...That's incorrect: this was a structural repair on the front of our house.)

The work went smoothly with a minimum amount of disruption to myself and my neighbors. The workers showed up promptly every day at 8:30 AM and worked until dusk. They came every day (including a Saturday) until the work was completed. There were complications at the outset but the company owner Mark Corrallo and his foreman Encarnacion came up with a good solution quickly which was approved by my Structural Engineer who planned the job. Encarnacion kept me completely aware of everything that was being done and took the time to explain it to me thoroughly. Mark came up with a plan to improve upon the design of the drainage system being installed that would allow future connections if I desired other drainage work to be done. I was told by another company they would have to take my deck partially apart to do the dry rot work but All Seasons was able to do the work without altering my deck. They had everything planned out well so that cement, rock, inspectors all arrived on time. They did a great job of shoring up parts of my deck that needed more support and added designer rock to an area that was cut out for the drainage trough. They cleaned up every day and never left anything in my neighbors driveway. They did a final cleanup that left the whole area spotless. We decided to add some shear wall in the area that was worked on which upped the price slightly but was within the allowance I budgeted. Finally they also deducted from the cost of the job the discount they had advertised on Angie's List. I am completely satisfied with the work they did and would hire them again. Gary Kukus

Mark Corallo carefully assessed the drainage problem causing flooding in our garage. We had other contractors assess the problem but felt most comfortable with Mark's assessment and his recommended repairs. He explained in detail how the repairs would be done and the expected period of time. His workers were prompt, polite, and seemed to be very experienced with the type of project they were doing. The work was completed on schedule. Of course we can't assess how well the new French Drain works until we have a very heavy rain, but looking at the work as it was underway, we feel confident that everything will work as intended. Cleanup was done on a daily basis and at the end of the job.

Thanks for the great review! We'll pass it on to the crew. Mark
The work was completed on schedule as promised. They worked 6 days a week and there were always enough people here to keep the project moving. The crew carefully cleaned up the work area and our driveway every day when they left. We were especially impressed with the care taken first removing broken concrete debris then running a concrete pumper hose into our house to deliver the concrete where it was needed. We would, without question, hire All Seasons Construction again to do work of this type.

He was straight forward, appeared to be a good guy, professional, on time , and had social skills. He did not spend a lot of time on us, that was one of the reasons I did not choose their services. He basically said I will take this job if you will pay me this amount. The quote was quite high, $65-75,000 to have my entire brick foundation redone. When he followed up afterwards, I explained that the quote did not meet my expectation due to when I purchased the house , I had included an estimate of how much it would cost to repair the foundation. I told him the quote was too pricey but he did not make a counter offer.

Mark was timely in his email communication and arrival on site to survey the project. We spent time discussing the job and he collected the information needed for the bid. Mark was the third contractor to bid on this exact project, but the first who seemed willing to take on the idea of replacing the concrete piers which I had asked about doing as an earthquake retrofit (the extension was built sometime in the 40's or 50's and didn't have any rebar). Mark explained that current building codes require living space to be supported by a continuos footing, framing and sheer walls. Based on that, he didn't think we could get a permit. But I insisted that I would not do any work, ESPECIALLY given that this supported the master bedroom without permits. He dragged his feet and finally told me that I would need to go and talk to the city myself. And that it would be better if I did it anyway since they would be more receptive talking to a home owner vs. a contractor. Ok, fine.. Turns out that the city of alameda is very happy to issue voluntary improvement permits and doesn't require you to bring the whole house up to 2013 building code standards. Great! Moving on... Passed along that information and asked him to drop the work we asked for in the front of the house from the bid and add the earthquake retro using the design that the city engineer and I discussed (a partial wall/footing/sheer). He asked some questions including whether or not this would be an over the counter permit or not. I didn't know. So he came out for the second time to take measurements to update the bid. Afterwards, he kept saying that he felt this wouldn't just be an OTC permit and that it might need review.. take time.. etc. Given the constant friction and seeming resistance to working with permits, we decided to reach out to another contractor with experience with the city. Upon learning that we were abandoning him for both the earthquake retro and the whole masonry project, he sent an email accusing me of using him all along as "free consulting services" to feed his "solution" to another contractor. He went on further that he was shocked we wouldn't be working together, accusing me of hiding the fact that I might be considering other contractors. He felt that he "spent a substantial amount of time on [my] project educating [me] on the right way to do things." Yet the only thing that he did educate me on was that there were new building codes requiring the continuous footing (which is why he tried to press me initially to do this without a permit). But the final solution was one that the city engineer and I discussed. He never suggested doing a partial wall. Whatever the underlying reason for Mark's friction around getting the permits, I will never know. But in the end the fact that instead of simply asking "Why did you decide to go with another contractor", he decided to send me a bitter email filled with assumptions and accusations only reaffirms my decision to go elsewhere.
Description of Work: We reached out to Mark's company to get a bid on concrete/masonry work to install a new driveway and walkway using existing antique brick on our property. We also asked for a bid to install pavers underneath an extension on our house. We wanted to explore the possibility of digging down to add more headroom and replace the piers beneath the columns holding up the extension. All of this was in preparation for a major landscaping project that we had already signed a contract to begin once this work was completed. Mark was the third contractor to bid. Whether or not I made that clear to him specifically, I don't remember. I did mention it to the others. I do know that he didn't ask if he was the only contractor bidding, but I had no reason not to share that information. I'm not sure how that is germane anyway as I would assume that if someone wants a bid, that it's being compared with others, right?

(Member name removed) had me come out to do a foundation estimate for his rear addition. When I arrived, he had a crew on site that was in the process of replacing his garage foundation. I inquired as to why wasn't he using them for this additional foundation work. He said that he needed someone with more expertise for the additional work, which was a little trickier. I spent a substantial amount of time on this project developing a plan and strategizing on the permit process. When the scope of work had been fully defined, I sent (Member name removed) a contract. He asked for some revisions. I sent him a revised contract and then I never heard back from him. When the start date was approaching and I followed up, he told him he was going to use his original crew for the additional foundation work. I was shocked. When I asked him if it was his plan all along to use me to help design the solution but then use his original contractor to do the work, he got angry that I had the audacity to challenge his intentions. This unfavorable review was his response.

I originally thought I wanted to replace the highly deteriorated concrete driveway with a new one, but when I spoke with Mark from All Seasons I was impressed with his understanding of a variety of issues like drainage, repairability, and sense of design. He recommended using paving stones instead of concrete. I agreed that this would be an excellent choice and we received fair bid and arranged for demo and installation. Both happened in a timely fashion with an exceptionally disciplined and talented crew. The finished product truly exceeds my expectations and is admired by my tenants and neighbors as well.

The crew that did this job, led by foreman, Encarnacion Hurtado, was excellent. They were highly professional, very hard-working and very careful of our wishes re. the details of the project. The work went very smoothly overall, with no problems. The project took a bit longer than we originally expected due to a permit snafu with the City of Oakland. The crew cleaned up completely at the end of each workday, and they were careful with the front yard plants. The finished product is excellent. I would highly recommend All Seasons Construction for any concrete or foundation work.

I had experience already with All Seasons Construction and was very happy with their retrofit work. Mark Corallo is very professional and easy to work with. This time we wanted to replace a cement walkway and replace a cracking retaining wall. Mark always has great ideas in solving certain issues that he anticipates and is always prompt with an estimate. This time we had Miguel as the foreman for the job and I was equally impressed with him. There are always minor adjustments that need to be made throughout the project and I found Miguel very bright and also an excellent problem solver. He gave me his cell phone the first day of work and always responded quickly if I ever called him, even when I called a week after the project was over. The crew kept the area fairly clean and everything was picked up when they were done. Overall, I am very impressed with the professionalism and quality of this companies work and will certainly use them in the future.

We originally contracted All Seasons Construction for a quote on another project. After Mr. Corrallo was done with this, we asked him for his opinion on our drainage problem. He offered an relatively cheap alternative 'redirect-the-water' solution to a major reconstruction of our exterior drain and sidewalk. When his crew came out, they attempted to find our drainage blockage without doing the entire redirection project. They did a small excavation and immediately found the problem and repaired it. While the job was not what we had originally expected them to do, they did an excellent job and we were very pleased with the result. Very professional, hard-working and efficient crew.
Description of Work: Original job was to install a 'redirection' to an exterior drain that was causing flooding in backyard area. They were able to locate and correct the blockage problem by removing a pipe that had been installed incorrectly.

The work went very well. The construction crew were very neat and very professional. They actually came in one day under the 3-week estimate for the work. I was very impressed by the fact that they were even willing to come in on the weekend. One the first day of construction, the crew chief introduced himself and Mark, who gave us our initial estimate, told us what was going to take place. By the end of the first day, the crew had made significant progress one the demolition. The work was very loud during certain parts of the construction, but the crew was very respectful about the fact that we lived in a residential area and never did anything that was terribly loud until after about 10am. They usually around by 8am and stayed until 4pm. At the end of the job, they walked me through to show me everything they did. They did a great job of matching the paint color on the house when they replaced and repainted the stucco they had to remove. They also managed to avoid disturbing our landscaping. It was both surprised and pleased that they were able to replace the foundation on the front of the house without disrupting any of our plants and other landscaping elements. All Seasons did a great job of cleaning up, and the company came to pick up the dumpster and porta potty just a couple days after all of the work was done. I was very pleased by the quality of the work!
Description of Work: Our home was built in 1926 and the foundation had since been capped once, but it had never been replaced. Our home is built on a hill, and on the weight bearing side of our home, the foundation was beginning to rotate. We had cracks in the foundation as well as increasing cracks in our interior walls. The previous owner of our home had done some limited shear wall construction, but our home was otherwise without any type of retrofitting. After interviewing seven contractors, we chose All Seasons. Although they gave our highest viable bids, they were the most experienced and the most professional and the most clear and concrete in their description of the plans for our home. Most importantly, all of the All Seasons workers were full-time employees of the firm. That was very important to us. We were also compelled by the fact that All Seasons is Diamond Certified. All Seasons replaced the weight bearing side of our foundation, including part of the foundation in the front and back of our house. They also did shear wall construction around the entire home foundation. All Seasons also bolted our entire home to its foundation.
