Work started July 6th. Moses (owner of Advantage Concrete) and another person moved misc furnitures out of garage to back yard and I supplied the tarps to cover. Moses used my dolly to move the refrigerator. Demo of garage began July 8 by a concrete subcontractor on and concrete pour done in one day on July 12. The construction of the office began July 15 by a subcontractor, Neptali. Neither Moses nor the concrete contractor did a good job of cleaning up after, so I began sweeping up and washing down the floors and walls. After multiple wash downs of the floors, I noticed that the water was not all flowing down to the drain, but was pooling up in two main areas. One next to the side door near the hot water heater (approx 16 sq ft) and the other along the 17 ft long existing floor(new concrete is higher). Prior to work being done, I twice asked Moses(both verbal and email) if they will be careful with the hot water heater and furnace and how you would do it His reply was "We do this all the time, don't worry, you don't need to worry about the details" To make sure my appliances were OK, I called Schmidt Heating Co to assess the stability of the gas furnace and PG&E to check the gas line and stability of the hot water heater. The hot water heater was determined not level and the concrete below the furnace blower was badly cracked open with loose sand exposed. The main issue of contention is Moses's insistence that the concrete was done well and he doesn't see any reason I have a problem. His concrete contractor were not very good at cleanup and left concrete spatter on my walls, stairs and other exposed areas. Aug 2nd, Moses hired an uncle Robert to resurface the stem walls, pillers, cracks between the stem wall and new concrete, apply molding next to the floors inside the office and to clean up the spatters. That job was done well and on this day, Moses seemed in a calmer mood and it seemed like we could come to agreement on what had to be done to complete the job with an agreement that he would take less money to complete the project, but after he discussed the job with visuals over Skype with his father in Washington state, he turned completely around with a new revelation that he was right all the time and began posturing to intimidate me. That day some good work done by Robert, but unfortunately overshadowed by Moses's overall demeaner. On 8/4 Tuesday evening, Moses texted me that wanted to come over between 1-2pm and on 8/5 informed me a plumber will be arriving to check out the water heater and furnace. Moses arrived at 11:30am and after a Hello started on telling me to pay him his money and began to audio/video tape on his phone our conversation and videoing my garage to use as his legal steps to put a Lean on my property. I asked Moses why he is doing this and he said he's only protecting himself because I am refusing to pay him. Then he proceeded to video the Contract to state what is owed. Moses kept stating that he is a licensed contractor with years of experience and has never had a negative statement about his work. Iwas not asked nor did I agree to video on my property. I told him to stop but he refused to listen. To me, this an intimidation tactic and I asked whether he does this with other clients. And about the money, I told Moses, I would have no problem paying once the issue of the differences in opinion about the concrete is straightened out. He asked me to pay him $8600 for the completion of the framing. Which I agreed to do tomorrow. One of his reasons to come over this morning was to have a licenses Plumber look at the hot water heater and a licenses concrete contractor check out the concrete work. Moses said then we would have and unbiases look and assessment of the finish product. The plumbers from Starboy Plumbing came later than scheduled but did arrive at the time Moses said, but Moses come back 30 or 40 minutes after they left. The plumbers said the hot water heater was off balance, but could be easily balanced by the contractor. Moses called me later and said he talked to the plumbers and they said it was OK. I told him that's not what they told me and will contact Starboy Plumbing to find out how an easy answer got messed up. Moses said a licensed Concrete contractor postponed his appointment till 10:00am and I told him I also called a licensed Concrete contractor (Gonzalez concrete 415-822-8384) eo arrive at 8:30. So we'll see whether Moses will abide the assessment of these concrete contractors. I know I will and hope Moses will also because I'm getting tired of his constant childish behavior and intimidation. My hope is that my concrete floor will be corrected to drain properly and Moses will own up to it by paying for it. Every one of the issues would have be averted if his concrete subcontractor would have done a good job. Plus that I'm sure both his concrete and general contractor who built my room are not licensed. Plus that he puts a tax onto his Contract which I told him my CPA said is "Not Legal" in California, but so far has not paid any attention. Based on those two issue, I should probably file a complaint with the Licensing Board or the Insurance Company to check whether he has a bond because certainly he seems good at manipulating me as a client. I would rather not go through that as Moses down deep seems to be a good person, but he knows how to give me sleepless nights. Why did he force me to spend all day writing all this? My wife and I are in our 70's and 80's and should not have to endure so much. Maybe I'm asking for too much and will be willing to negotiate a settlement amount. Hopefully the assessments by the two concrete contractors will bring us to a better place. Let's Hope.

Client was refusing to pay for work completed. He even had another contractor come to evaluate the work I completed, and the other contractor confirmed I did a great job. Client reluctantly payed after much whining and I voided the remainder of our contract.

Compared to previous companies I've contacted dealing with Concrete Repairs, Every question I had was answered in details. The person in charged (Moses Kato) was not only friendly but fast in response to the questions I had. I was also charged a reasonably price for all the work performed for this project. I would definitely recommend them to other customers needing the same repairs.

Moses replaced my old driveway a few years ago. Moses and his crew were clean and efficient. I was so pleased with my new driveway I asked him to install a concrete slab to the side of my house for additional parking space. His prices were competitive and his work still looks great after all these years!
