We contracted the provider to install an HVAC system. We paid a ten percent deposit, and were told we would get a discount if we paid cash for the entire project. I almost did. Good instincts prevailed, and I paid with American Express. The sales person described the installation. It would take one day, the pipes would go under the house, only a small hole would go into one wall in each of three rooms, and the HVAC would be installed on the side of the house outside. We agreed to an installation date of April 21. We were emailed back with an arbitrary installation appointment of April 17th, when we were not home. We called and set up another appointment on May 12. First sign of a bad experience . . .. A worker arrived on May 12 and basically said 'What am I doing?'. He did not know where the HVAC was being installed and was not working with a project manager. He then described that the proper way to install the system would require running the tubes outside the house, significant damage to walls (ripping out entire sections) that they were not responsible for repairing, and that installation would take at minimum three days. After this short conversation we cancelled the project. The salesman promised a product that the company did not intend to deliver. We are good customers, so the company suffered a sincere loss in trying to push us into a compromising situation. We are in process of reversing the charges with American Express and will update this review based on our experience of securing a full refund for the $980 deposit.
Description of Work: We hired Temperature Control to install a Mitsubishi HVAC system into an 1110 sq foot house. The salesman promised something the company did not intend to deliver, so we cancelled. Wasted a day off from work.
