+ -1 moreWe had a fantastic experience with West Coast Awning. The owner Alfred came out for a free consultation and proposal for a retractable awning for our patio. He was very helpful and informative in his recommendations for fabric and design. We got a proposal within 24 hours and moved forward within a few days. Our shade was beautifully fabricated and installed in a very short 10 days and we are thrilled with the look and the comfort it provides. Highly recommend West Coast Awning!

+ -1 moreReplacement of the awning and supports went ok. Nothing special. But when it came to the wind / sun sensor, nobody including Alfred had a clue. After much stalling and delays, he tried to install a remote only wind / sun sensor to a hard wired system which I am advised by the manufacturer cannot be done. After the tests of the wind sensor failed, he said he would get information and come back to see that it was functional. Never saw or heard from him again. I finally contacted the the manufacturer (Somfey) and got a referral for someone to fix the problem. Cost me an additional $550 to get it done right. Wind sensors are a critical component of any retractable awning. Not being able to install one correctly and then disappearing when the tests fail doesn't speak very highly about West Coast Awning.

+ -1 moreThe owner Alfred arrived to give an estimate and was able to give me a price immediately. He mentioned he also had a showroom, which I then visited a few days later. He and his wife Monika were both there and took time to speak with me and my husband and answer any questions and additional concerns. The work was started within a couple of weeks and once started, it was finished in less than a week. Alfred's crew was professional and Alfred came in frequently to check on the work. He or Monika were always reachable by phone as well if I had a question.
Description of Work: West Coast Awning replaced my old wood patio cover with a new aluminum cover with open lattice. They removed the old structure, hauled it away and did an excellent job with the new cover. The owner, Alfred and his wife Monika provided personal service and I loved that they had a showroom to visit so that I could actually see the product on something more than a tiny sample swatch! Alfred was attentive to our needs, gave us a very competitive price and went the extra mile that a customer always appreciates. He installed several lights on the posts and ran the switch on the inside of our house so that we could turn them on and off easily. He even returned to patch and sand the wall inside my home. His crew was punctual and professional. They cleaned up after themselves each night before leaving and even touched up the paint on my trim and gutters wherever they had installed the new beams. The new patio cover looks great. It's hard to tell that it's aluminum and not wood and the best part is it will be maintenance free! (At least I hope so....can't vouch for its longevity yet since we just got it, but I'm anticipating it lasting for many years to come!)

+ -1 moreVery good quality frames and fabric -- have stood up well to weather, wind, etc. Installers were on time, courteous and professional. Pricing was reasonable.
Description of Work: Constructed and mounted two fabric covered metal frame awnings for our home. Later returned to remount one of them in a slightly different location.
