+ -1 moreSteve was great! He was on time and did a through job. I was pleased to hear the house he inspected had a good foundation. Steve didn't try to upset me on anything! He had some great ideas on how to modify some draining issues around there property.

+ -1 moreSteve was very responsive and thorough when performing the inspection. There was a scheduling mix-up regarding his faulty cell phone but once we clarified the appointment time and date, he was prompt and efficient. I would recommend him for inspections during escrow, since he understands the time pressure of escrow. He is also excellent in explaining concepts to the client in non-technical language, so his explanations were easily understood. His report came in very quickly after the inspection - it was during the holidays, so the quick response was appreciated. Our client wanted to speak to the contractor directly, and he had no problem speaking to her at length to answer her questions. I had a few follow up questions after the report was delivered, and they were answered quickly. I would definitely recommend Steve for inspections. I have not used him for actual construction, but if he is as responsive and knowledgeable in construction as he is in inspecting, I would have no problem in using him for future jobs.
Description of Work: inspected a condo in escrow for cracks in garage, raised floor in second bedroom and ceiling crack in kitchen/living room on first floor

+ -1 moreSteve was very professional in addressing all the questions I had regarding the issues with my house's foundation. He listened to my concerns and made recommendations specific to my circumstances. I found his price quotes very competitive and reasonable. What really impressed me was that he made suggestions for alternative things I could do even when it meant that he would make less money from the proposed job. My main question to all contractors and technicians that perform work on my house is, "What would you do if this was your home?" and Steve answered this question very honestly and without hesitation. I was very pleased with him.
Description of Work: Steve came out to my home to inspect and assess the foundation, provided a thorough report of recommendations and spoke to me several times regarding the issues my foundation has as well as well as suggested interventions/remediations.

+ -1 moreThe owner, Steve, is very professional and concerned that all his clients feel well-provided for. Any worries we had about timeline or about quality of work were addressed very quickly and effectively. I can't say enough about his willingness to work hard to get a job done properly. His workers did very high-quality work on the foundations, even pouring larger footings than we originally asked for at no cost. This work was so good that after seeing his work on the house foundation, we asked him to come back to do further work by pouring the carport foundation. The rough construction was completed within budget and on time. The only setback was caused by some shoddy work that had been done on our house back in the '50s. He fixed this issue efficiently and quickly, and passed inspection shortly afterwards. Storrey Building is a quality company, very concerned with professionalism and high-quality work. I would hire them again in a second.
Description of Work: Storrey Building was responsible for the upgrading the foundation of our house in preparation for a second story addition. They also did the rough construction for that second story addition, and poured a new foundation for a 2-car carport.

Description of Work: Currently involved with Steve / Storrey Building on a project. Wishing I wasn't! Quoted at 60 days to complete, currently it's even over 6 months and its still his problem after his problem and incomplete. Contract issues, financial inaccuracies in the contract vs. real world, etc. UPDATE: This job was never completed and is currently awaiting arbitration. Steve did not abide by the contract. No change orders were put in writing as per our contract, rather Steve made "judgement calls in the field" going against the engineered plans. The CSLB investigation uncovered damages and we are going to arbitration for up to $50,000.00 I do demand top quality work which is why I believed I hired a high quality contractor... I was wrong. His work is "mickey mouse" and his excuses are endless. Steve himself was never on the job. Contract items were ignored. The framing was not built to plans. The job was stopped by correction notices issued by LADBS which were never addressed as the job was abandoned. His workers left food debris and mess all over my property.
