We were 100% pleased with every aspect of dealing with this wonderful family owned business. Brad and his assistant installed our front entry door and sidelight expertly and we were tremendously pleased with his work. There was one particular type of door that we wanted for our kitchen that we thought would be out of our price range but Robin checked around and found one for us that fit into our budget. This is one of the best companies we have ever dealt with, they returned our calls promptly and they were punctual - very courteous and professional, as well as giving good advice on decor and design. We felt that they really cared about us as clients and that they actually care about the work they are doing, we would highly recommend them to anyone and we plan to use them again for some more windows that need to be replaced on our house. The only reason our contractor did any of the installation was because we had ordered and taken delivery of the windows and doors but had to have them on hand for when the (new construction) was 'ready' for installation. After seeing the work that Brad did installing our front entry, we would have no hesitation having him do any other work at our property. I just can't say enough good things about this company, we love them.
Description of Work: We had about 12 of our old crank windows replaced with new windows, and 3 entry doors replaced. We ordered the windows and doors from Finely Finished and at the time we were having quite a lot of work done at our property so our contractor installed the windows and two of the doors. However, Brad (from Finely Finished) installed our front entry door / sidelight.

I thought that Finely Finished had a very nice advertisment in the phone book. So, I called them and asked that they send someone out to give me an estimate. An appointment was made, and Chad came to my home......it took a second visit before I felt confident that I was making a good choice. The door was installed in a timely fashion. And, it appeared to me to be at a good price. Chad and his sister kept in touch with me via the telephone. This business is family owned, and I like that idea.
Description of Work: After two visits to my home, I felt I had enough information to make a decision about what type of entry door to order--fiberglass, fir, or mahogany. The people I dealt with were courteous and on time. I think I have a very nice entry door that was installed correctly.

We hired Finely Finished because it is an "offshoot" of a company that we had used in the past (Quality Windows and Doors) and had been very satisfied with. Chad Swanson is the son of the man who had installed our windows before. Chad said he had been working with his dad for years (his father has since retired) and we hoped he would be just as professional as his father. The quote seemed competitive and the brand of windows he would install is a reputable company, Milgard. We had some communication miscues in the scheduling of the job---some of which were frustrating to me. There were delays in the arrival of some parts they needed and instead of calling me immediately to tell me that, they waited hoping the parts would arrive in time to make our installation date. Because I thought the parts had arrived, I had already scheduled other workmen assuming the job would be finished but then I found out that the parts had NOT arrived and so I had to reschedule everything again. This was not a major issue but I take it as a sign of the relative inexperience of the company. (It's a family business---Chad's sister is the young woman answering the phones and doing the scheduling.) The installation itself went reasonably well except for two issues. 1. The screen has at least a quarter inch gap where it is supposed to lie flush against the window frame. This seems to be the fault of the window manufacturer. Even so, when we pointed it out to Chad he minimized our concerns. It seemed to us that he, as someone who makes his living in windows, ought to agree that a quarter inch gap where the window and screen should meet (tightly!) is not acceptable! He left that day essentially saying that our expectations were unreasonable. He did come back the next day (see my #2) and brought some weather stripping to try to fill that gap. He put it on but there is still a gap AND within two weeks the weather stripping has come entirely off in one of the windows. Finely Finished called us (I have forgotten her name...it might be Angie???) a few weeks after the job to check if we were perfectly satisfied with the job. We mentioned to her our dissatisfaction with the quality of the Milgard window. She said she was surprised and said that Milgard would certainly come out themselves on the warranty. She said she would call them and we should hear from Milgard within 24 hours and if not, we should call her back and let her know. Milgard DID call us and we are expecting a visit from them on 6 August. We'll see! 2. The second issue is what troubled me the most. We had just had our house painted a matter of days before the installation (the scheduling conflict!) Two of the windows are on a very hidden wall of the house and it is true that no one would ever see them. However. When we went around to look at the outsides (before Chad had finished) we noticed that there were two new gouges in the plaster right by the window frames. I try to be a pleasant person to work for so I didn't go running to him to point out his mistakes. I assumed he knew and that, as a professional, he would take care of it. When they finished, he had all his gear packed in the van and wanting his check. He never mentioned it. When I brought it up, his answer was again to minimize it. I don't remember the exact words but it was something to the effect of "they are very small." I told him that didn't matter and that I thought it was reasonable for me to expect my walls to look the same as they did before he started the job. I mentioned that they had just been painted and so I was rather particular that they stay nice! He told me he wouldn't have recommended that I have the house painted before the windows. Yet, we had discussed that very thing when we talked about scheduling the job. He says he only talked about the power washing and not the painting. I may certainly have misunderstood that but it is still ridiculous to suggest that I should expect to have damage to my walls. We came to a settlement that we could both agree on---I withheld $100 from the check until it was fixed and he promised to come over the very next morning and fix it. Which he did. And he brought the weather stripping with him the next morning as well. So the end of the story is that I have new windows. The installation itself seems fine. They were very tidy while they worked. But unfortunately what I remember is the lack of professionalism in having damaged my walls and not telling me. And then having to argue about it! It would have changed the entire character of my experience if he had simply said, "I'm really sorry---we banged up your walls a little. I'll take care of it."
Description of Work: Had four long (floor to almost ceiling) windows replaced. Two of them were all louvered and the new window is just plain glass. The other two windows had louvers just at the top and we changed them to "canopy" opening at the top. They were all retrofitted.
