replaced an existing video monitoring system that had gone defunct with a more reliable set of components. Metrowest provided all the parts & performed the work very professionally: they were punctual, knowledgeable, left the work spaces clean, tested all the units to be sure they functioned as expected, handed over the receipts for warranty requirements, & operational documents. Pricing was fair for the service & equipment. Would recommend very highly.

Upon recommendation from a neighbor, we decided to go with MetroWest Security Systems for our home security needs. From the first call to the installation, we had a great experience working with MetroWest. Jane, the owner, was very informative and professional. All calls and e-mails were returned in a timely manner. Jane came to our home and did a walk-through. We determined together what type of coverage/service we would work best for our situation. She gave us the estimate and we were able to tweak some things to make it fit within our budget. We had to wait a few weeks to have the system installed because they're pretty booked but they confirmed our date/time and they showed up exactly as scheduled. Two technicians came out that day. They worked for the better part of the day making sure everything was installed properly and with care. They were also very professional and friendly, and we felt very comfortable having them in our home. Once everything was installed, one of the technicians showed us in detail how to operate the keypad and all of the functions available to us. We were also informed by Jane that it ever we want to add or change anything about our system, it's no problem and that we can do it anytime. We really like the flexibility MetroWest offers. We are really satisfied with everything thus far and happy that we decided to go with MetroWest as opposed to one of the over-populated nationwide security companies. It feels good to support small business and our local economy. The price may be a little more but always remember - you get what you pay for! I highly recommend choosing MetroWest for your home security needs.

I reviewed this company in detail on 3/27/2012 and gave them outstanding grades and I am not an easy grader. I wanted to protect part of my security system in a different way so I called and made an appointment. The same technician ( Jay ) that installed the system came to my house, arrived 5 minutes early, and went through all the options. He made a suggestion that I had not thought of and it was perfect and inexpensive This guy rerally knows his stuff. Very professional and very smart.. There is nothing more important to a homeowner than to feel you are totally protected and safe in your home. It's not just the system hardware, its the responsivenessof the people that install it AND their after installation attitude to insure you are functional and protected. Everytime I call this company I get spot on expert service. I could'nt ask for more and would never go any place else for home security or protection

Great meeting, creative solutions, great price; then they never called me back. I tried to contact them several times. I made sure that in my messages everyone understood that I wanted to schedule them to do the work. They are a joke. Unprofessional and a waste of time.

He's very professional. The man who came out, James Silverman, is very knowledgeable and very business-like. They have good documentation, good form and set exceptions properly. We did have a couple problems in the installation but it worked out and everything went according to schedule.

We contacted multiple security companies and found Metrowest to be the most affordable while offering everything we wanted in getting our system working. They were prompt and responsive and got our security system up and running in no time.

Jane Silverstein, who runs Metrowest with her husband Lloyd, came by to provide us a quote. She walked us through our options and explained the cost ramifications of all of the possible configurations. She explained that Metrowest does not compete on price -- and they don't, there are definitely cheaper alternatives -- but that they specialize in a high level of customer service. Our experience with Metrowest has served that out. The crew that installed the system were extremely professional. The process took the better part of a day and they worked meticulously and took great care to explain the system. In all our subsequent dealings, they have been professional, friendly and helpful. We would very much recommend Metrowest.

wonderful experience--from the 1st phone call I knew this company has figured out that the most important person in their world is me, the customer. On time, on budget and totally professional and very nice to work with--I have 1 tiny suggestion, the workings of the alarm system are not complicated but you need to master it--a little more "explain" time would have been a plus--Its my fault because I didn't ask a few more questions--anyway, all figured out and I love what they did--The feeling of security is fantastic

My home alarm system needed a new system battery but I don't have/need a monitoring contract. I talked to Jane and she gave me the information so I could do the work myself. It was just as simple as she said it would be. There was no charge, just Jane giving me the benefit of her knowledge. If I ever change my mind about getting a monitoring contract, Metrowest will be the first company I call. Thank you Jane!

Metro West simply rocks. I am the type of person who when I go to buy something, anything, will read reviews and do research for way too long. An alarm for our new home was no exception. I got bids from three leading alarm companies in my area and everything to a DIY kit. We wanted to go with alarm screens on all of our windows mainly because we wanted to keep our spanish 1925 period windows and Jane came in with a price that could actually make that happen. Not only did they have the best price but also their technicians were able to hardwire areas that other companies had told us that because of limited access we would have to have a big wireless sensor. Since I am just getting around to writing these review months after the installation I can also add that all my programming questions (because sometimes I just simply forget) are just a phone call away and answered immediately.

The whole experience with the company has been personal and wonderful. I can't possibly feel better about choosing them for my home security. Jane is excellent with communication and was incredibly flexible with my ever changing schedule. The installation was clean and went very smoothly. When people come to your place intending to drill holes everywhere, you want the most experienced people, and that is Metrowest. So far so good!! Thank you!

Left a message for jane and company. also sent email. Jane called me back the next day and stated that she was dealing with her elderly mother's illness and would therefore have to talk within the next two days. She suggested I email her with some specs. She also mentioned that the company was busy and wouldn't be able to install till later in the month. I emailed her the next day and followed up by phone to ensure they received. She said she would call me back and follow up to come for estimate. Never heard from her or the company again. UPDATE: Jane called me yesterday October 25th. She was upset because she, as she explained, she had sent me an email October 12 with an estimate. As she did not receive any response from me, she assumed I was not interested. I told her that I never received an email and was surprised that she had not followed up with a PHONE CALL as I was very aggressive in contacting her. (I sent an email and then followed up by phone to ensure receipt.) Today, October 26, Jane sent me a copy of the email from October 12. I checked my archived email. Wasn't there. Did not receive. It's a good estimate actually. Fairly priced and well thought out. I wish that I had received it when I originally asked for it. I have upgraded my review to a B. I expect more follow through particularly from a security company. Jane is clearly a professional and I might actually use her for monitoring.

We found the estimate competitive, the personnel courteous and informative. The installation was within the timeline indicated. The installers were punctual, pleasant and professional. Our preferences were incorporated. The whole process proved easier than we thought. We are glad we decided to utilize this company.

Met with Jane to get an estimate for an alarm system at my rental property. She wrote up a very clear & reasonable estimate, and I signed up to have the system installed. The installers came at the appointed time, were very professional and installed everything perfectly. Since then, the system has worked great and I'm about to have them install a second alarm in another rental unit. The 3 months of free monitoring for Angie's List customers is also a nice bonus. Would definitely recommend!

Too bad an A+ isn't available. Jane was super flexible, accommodating, and reliable in scheduling our first appointment. She was prompt, exquisitely kind, and professional. She had creative and detailed ideas about elements of the system that exceeded even those of three other security companies and a Police Sergeant who had surveyed the home. Above the others, she was principally chosen for her professionalism, flexibility, clear dedication and knowledge, and kindness; on price she was also very competitive but was such that beyond that the dollars were competitive, she provided value. She, as the embodiment of Metrowest, is clearly someone with whom you would want to have a long term relationship as they watch over your home. Once again, super dedicated to having the system installed, and done properly with a straight forward yet flexible interface. Team members arrive either four minutes early or right on time, with clear communication about when to expect them. Her team with Lloyd, Slava and Jay were shocking in their skill, professionalism, patience, patience, patience, and care--treating the home as if was their own, with full and ready explanations of anything one would desire--going well above the call of duty and sticking to it until it was all done. All of them take such care, and have a wonderful personality--a real pleasure to work with. Really a remarkable team. By the end, you feel like family, and have a special comfort in knowing you are being cared for. And cared for you are--just set it off by accident a few times (not a suggestion) and see how fast they are on it. And surprise surprise, even the monitoring personnel are nice as well--reassuring and kind as you are apologizing for the false alarm. All in all, a great experience. We met with a few different security companies before METRO WEST, but after meeting with Jane we really felt they had the most to offer us. A very reliable well run business. All the installers were great to work with and very thorough in training us to use the system...they even told us we would set it off at some point in the first week (because everybody does) and we did. It has been a couple of months now and we couldn't be happier with our choice. We have had to call in to the office a couple of times and all our questions have been answered promptly and happily. A great company :)

Met with Jane who was right on time, very nice and low pressure. She gave her recommendations a fair quote and saved an installation date while we made our decision. I am a software developer so I was very interested in the tech details of the system and how I could connect it to a home automation system in the future. She referred me to her husband Lloyd who spent over 30 minutes with me on the phone describing sensor options, wiring approaches and controller choices. After much research I decided that Jane's original suggestions were what we wanted except the we upgraded the controller to allow for future expansion and added more security screens to include every window. Her staff installers Jay and Slava showed up right on time and were a pleasure to work with. I am very picky about wiring and these guys were good! Jay was great at working with me on installation decisions and Slava was amazing at getting wires to places that I thought were impossible. Jay and Slava also mentioned how great Jane and Lloyd are to work for and that they really look out for them which meant a lot to me.The only subcontractor was the alarm screen company which was on time, on schedule, on budget and great to work with. The install took 2 days and the system has worked perfectly ever since. I love that we can leave windows open and know that the screens are still alarmed but my favorite part is that the panel tells me when I forget to close the garage door!! I love supporting this husband and wife team and their independent business.

It was a pleasure to work with Jane from Metrowest and I highly recommend using them. Everything from the initial appointment to the installation went smoothly and according to plan. We just moved into our new home, and feel safe and secure with our system.

MetroWest are very personable and attentive to your needs. I highly recommend them. We had our security alarm installed on a Saturday and everything seemed great. We had one issue with our phone. I called Jane and they had Lloyd come out at 8 PM on a Wednesday night and fixed our issue. These people care about their product and deliver a great service. I highly recommend them over an ADT or other service.

I worked with ADT then with Protection one were disappointing it was very difficult the to make appointment to come to repair your system even if you pay extra, but now switch to Metrowest Security Systems they very professional highly recommended

Great service. Had Llyod (owner) come out at reconfigure my existing ADT system to work off of MetroWest monitoring. I knew that there was a potential for it to be complicated as ADT sometimes "locks" out the brain (much like cell phone companies lock their phones), but Llyod knew what he was doing and came prepared. He had all the documentation required to reconfigure the system, and reprogramed it perfectly. This did take some time though - as he had to call Honeywell (Alarm manufacturer) to get the code to unlock the brain and was put on hold for quite a while. But all and all... great service. This is a rental unit and we had a very tight window to work in as the tenants work from home, needed the phone lines, and counldt be distuirbed with alarm testing/sirens througout the conversion. Llyod did all re-programing without breaking the phone curcuits, and when the tenants went to lunch, he did all of the testing, dialing, and noise making. He came and left exactly on time. A big thanks to MetroWest for working within a tight time frame. The only time that worked for the tenants was a morning appointment with a lunchtime alarm testing. MetroWest was very sensitive to this and worked around everyones schedule and got the job done. I am having them come to another unit I have after the first of the year. Cannot reccomend them enough.

It went very well. The one who came out to estimate was well informed, professional and efficient. The two workman who installed the system were really a joy to have around. They were very personable, upbeat, helpful, and obviously experts in their field. The alarm system is easy to operate and we have been very pleased with it.
