Response from Ken Colgan Plumbing & Rooter
A gentleman met me at the building site and informed me that the building & safety department had “red tagged” the unit and would be by in the morning to inspect the work being done. Once a work site has been red tagged all work is halted and no work can proceed until it is inspected and approved by the building and safety department. At that time, I was informed that the homeowner’s association had also been trying to contact them to find out what work was being done. Their contractor had removed all the plumbing fixtures, tile, shower pans etc. and would be reinstalling everything as soon as they were able to resume work. They said they just needed me to pull a permit for raising a shower head. Something about this didn't seem quite right. I informed him that a permit to raise a shower head would not be enough to satisfy the building & safety department based on the work already in progress and that their contractor would be the best person to guide them through their current circumstances. Had they told me this situation over the phone I would have given them the same recommendation and not needed to go over there. Given the fact that I never even met the member, I don't know how she was able to judge my professionalism, as I was simply there to give an estimate and no work was ever performed.
