I contracted with this electrical contractor to perform the full electrical scope of the new construction of my single-family residential home. My experience with them was a disaster! It couldn't have been any worse. At first, when John was trying to sell me their services, he made his company sound very professional. However, this couldn't be any farther than the truth. In reality, his business is a sham that preys on individuals such as myself. Once he has locked you in, by signing the contract and paying the first deposit, then you see who this guy truly is. After signing the contract with us, he immediately started dumping all of the work on me. He claimed that since his price was low, I was the one who had to deal with the City and handle all of the communications. I reached out to the City to get temporary power so that he could perform his construction. As I was coordinating this, JGA mobilized and got set up on my jobsite even though framing was not even complete yet. Generally, electrical work does not start until after all framing has been completed. Throughout this time, they lagged in communication, and would not let me know what they were doing or why. They performed no work other than setting up some tools and materials. Unbeknownst to myself, the temp power that DWP had brought was the wrong type. JGA informed me, and, as I attempted to get the correct version brought out, John started complaining, even though, in reality, I was the one doing the work that I had paid him to do. He offered to correct the problem with the City for $300, which I gladly said that I would pay as soon as he resolved it. However, the next day, I saw his crew demobilizing the jobsite to take his stuff away and disappear without any notice. When we tried preventing this, since we had already paid him, and I did not want him to run off with my money, he called the police. However, he was able to take everything and disappear without any work, calling me a sick woman and leaving me to look for another electrician. He said he would not return my money and would not complete the work. What disappoints me even more than his failure and his scamming of my money was the timing of this whole fiasco. His irresponsibleness happened at exactly the worst timing, creating delays in my house schedule, which are now going to cost me a lot of money. Now that we had to wait months for framing to be completed and we are ready for the work to begin, we must wait months more to find a new electrician and coordinate everything.
