It was perfect! Really great. Still looks like it was done yesterday. The only reason for slightly less than perfect score was that is was tough to schedule, although very nice to speak with. I think they were moving offices or something. But once scheduled, everything was great.

They told me on the first call that they were losing money on the deal and seemed reluctant to do the work. Then later I went back to the website and saw they had stopped paying their fees and there were numerous complaints similar to my experience. I'm afraid if they do the work they'll do shoddy work under the circumstances.

Purchased offer Oct 23,they embarked back on 24th, but couldn't come out till November 11. Came to the house but didn't really want the job. Said things like"well we can do this if you're not too picky about How the tile lines up at the wall, we don't do anything above the floor". Had very few samples of available tile with him and none that were good for my bathroom. Never heard from him again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It turned out really nice. It was like a Catch 22 where they wanted a little bit more and I ended up paying more. It was $200 extra. They did good work. They were delayed in getting there because they used the excuse they got things mixed up. He had sent the guys someplace else and then they came to me. They did good work once they were there but I am leery of using them again because I would be afraid of the hidden costs.

I have repeatedly tried to get in touch with this provider numerous times through email and phone calls. The one time I was able to reach someone (Rick), I was told that they could not make an appointment for me since they were re-doing their schedule. They took my name and would call me back later that same day. No phone call. No communication. I have tried numerous times after to get ahold of them to no avail. This company is extremely unprofessional.

I had my kitchen floor tiled. The workers arrived promptly at 8am on Thursday morning and the job was completed noon Saturday.. I am very impressed with the overall quality, standard and workmanship. I bought the standard 10X10 kitchen and paid extra for the additional space. I would definitely recommend this company.

This experience has been a roller coaster ride. I called and scheduled then David the owner called me to cancel and that he was going to loose $$. I'm not sure why this was my problem since it was he that posted the deal on AL to begin with. I then had to explain to him that my job was minimal and had no removal of previous tiles. We then rescheduled, I then had to cancel due to an scheduling problem. I then rescheduled and nobody showed up, I then rescheduled a day later, a guy showed up and said he'd be back in a couple of days. I then called the owner to confirm that this was for sure going to happen. Golan said he'd confirm and call me back. I emailed and called again, no confirmation or call back. Friday rolls around and his guy shows up and the job is done. Phew! The tiler was very nice and professional. Lesson: I got what I paid for but will never do this again, since not knowing if someone is going to show up or not is super stressful. Communication from Audrey was good but they don't answer the phone on some days and don't respond to emails some of the time.

We made several attempts to contact the service provider after paying the Angie's deal cost without any response. We had to contact Angie's list to get help before we finally heard from this company. The salesperson, who showed up late for the second appointment after cancelling initial appointment, did not really seem interested in our ideas for the project. It appeared he was there to inform us the project would cost at least three times more than the price offered in the Angie's deal and far more than a similar project we had completed in our other home with another company. This cost estimate was made before any actual design or materials were selected. In addition to my wife and I, our adult son was also present during the service provider's visit and all of us were uncomfortable going forward this company after that initial visit.

The estimate was clear and, given what would be done, quite fair as it was more than I expected. However I opted for a smaller company due to cost, which did not include as thorough a job.
Description of Work: The owner gave me a thorough estimate for painting and installing closet doors, but the price exceeded my budget. However , a secondary estimate for brick work was reasonable and I will pursue that job.

The installers were on time, polite and professional. The tile looks great. My only complaint is that in moving a cabinet from the vanity to another area, they lifted it from the top, so when I went to replace it, the top and door had pulled apart and now I am unable to open one of the doors and use the cabinet as before. Also the strip bridging the carpet and the tile was not secured on one end. The nail was bent upon pounding it into the floor, so the end of the strip does not stay down. One of the tiles has two small chips in it, and they cut too far into the carpet when they were removing it, so there is a small slice in the carpet. When I called to inform them of these problems, I was told that they don't take responsibility for moving furniture and that if I wanted to cover up the cut into the carpet I could buy a wider strip of metal and replace the narrow one in place. David said he would come our and look at it, but he never did or never followed up with me
Description of Work: Pulled up carpet and installed new tile in bathroom and vanity area. There was an extra charge to lift the toilet and then reseal it. I also had to provide the strip that bridged the carpet and tile.

The deal was good, but I needed extra work done. The estimate for all the extra work outside of the Big Deal was too much for my budget, so it was best for me to go with another contractor to do all of the work, even the work related to the Big Deal.

I got a message via Angie's list. I called them and set an appointment. We scheduled for Friday at 130PM. I had driven 1 hour east back to my home to make this appointment. After an hour, I called them to see if they were still coming. Jason said that he had tried calling to tell me. I did see a missed call at 1PM. I figured this was just to tell me they were on there way. HE LEFT NO MESSAGE EITHER. I was incredibly frustrated. They missed their appointment. We rescheduled for Monday. David came 30 minutes late. He told me that they usually don't do backsplash (why is it written in the deal?). He tried to get me to hire them for more jobs. After an hour of going back and forth, he finally settled on just doing this deal job. As a courtesy, I said maybe the bathroom too. He showed me pictures of backsplash examples and I asked what tiles qualify for the deal. He didn't give me any options except to suggest I go online and look for pics of what I like and send them to him. I did this, and received no response after 3 days. So I called him and he said he "never got it." He then told me to go to home depot and buy the tiles. That's when I said F this.

I bought a Big Deal for a tile backsplash for my kitchen. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate the times David was available to come and show me tile samples, measure and give final estimate. 10 minutes before appointment time, David called to say he wasn't in the truck that had tile samples, which made it pointless for him to come by. So we rescheduled for two days later. Again, I rearranged my schedule and left work early to be home for the two-hour window during which David would come to my house. He didn't show up. He didn't call. And nobody from GMS has attempted to contact me since, either by phone or Angie's List message. Very disappointing. I can't see me ever calling them for a future job.

Called GMS to get additional details on the work that was included in an Angie's List Big Deal. The deal for $399 included labor and materials for 40 sq ft of tile. I told them I already have leftover marble and limestone from other areas of the house that I want to use for the work I described to them. I set up an appointment for them to come out and look at the area that I wanted to remodel. I also wanted to get a quote for some additional work. They called me after I booked the appointment to cancel because they said they did not have the expertise to work on anything other than basic ceramic tile. I appreciate the honesty. But it is a little scary that the level of expertise from a company that purports to be able to remodel houses is so low that they can only handle basic ceramic tile laid in basic patterns. I am also surprised that Angie's List would promote a company with such a low level of expertise.

DISAPPOINTING!!! Appointment was scheduled 1 week in advance. On the day of the appointment Jason called to see if I could reschedule for 2 days later and offered a $400 discount if I would do so. I told him I wanted to make a decision by then and had another appointment already scheduled at that time. He said it was ok and would send out his best guy. David arrived over 1 hour late, sat in his car for 30 minutes in front of my home before ringing the doorbell, basically had a bad/non-chalant attitude. Seemed to quote everything at least double the price of other quotes received. Provided little information and insight and told me I would have an estimate 2 days later...it's a week later and still no communication from him.
Description of Work: Waste my time! I have yet to receive a quote, which I was supposed to have over 1 week ago. David arrived over 1 hour late, sat in his car in front of my house for at least 30 minutes before he rang the doorbell, basically had a bad attitude and seemed to quote prices that were double what everyone else quoted (I have at least 4 quotes). My husband was sitting in the den and listened to the conversation, basically had the same feeling/impression...we will NEVER USE GMS!

Provider showed up a bit late. Explained that the square footage of deal was half of our small kitchen (smaller than our small bathroom, too) and that it would take more $$ to do the job. My fault for not measuring. Brought in a variety of tiles to show. He was courteous enough. We'll HAVE to use him and pay more, as we've already invested $399.00 on the deal.

David first came by to inspect the kitchen area. It was larger than the area covered by the deal but the additional area was quoted at the same price so the whole area was included. We arranged for the work to begin a week later. I then chose the ceramic tile from several samples. The contractors showed up promptly at the appointment a week later. They had to make a trip to Home Depot first. Upon returning, they began the work of removing the linoleum tile. For about three hours, they worked on removal and installing the ceramic tile. They were short a few tiles so they had to return a couple of days later. The contractor called ahead and arrived timely. The remaining area was completed in about an hour. Very happy with the finished look!

Initially the team never showed up for the morning appointment. I got different stories about why but just when I was about to give up for the day they showed up--at 2pm. Because of the late start the whole experience was less than perfect. They worked 3 hrs that day, as I was unwilling to let them stay till 7pm as they requested. The next day they showed up early and on time, but said they could only work a few hours as they had another job. This made the whole job go three days which was very annoying as I was scheduled to go out of town and had to move things around and cancel plans. The team was apologetic, but made it clear that the other job was more important and.the promotions had backed ip their schedule. On the third day of the job, the person in charge who booked the whole thing finally showed up and offered a terse apology for the inconvenience. But that was it, no other concessions. To summarize the other frustrating aspects of the project, there were at least 6-7 phone calls trying to sort out the scheduling, the "no-shows" and to remind them of the fact that I had 2 pedestal sinks, and ask them to use an experienced crew for that. When the crew came they confessed they didn't know how to handle the sinks and the supplied information had not been shared with them. After much worry on their part over the first day, they brought someone with them the second day and figured it out. It turned out to be not a big deal. The crew was fairly neat and considerate, but not perfect. They kept spilling water on my wood floors and rug, and it didnt improve even when I pointed it out and asked them to be careful. They placed the toilets and sinks in the bath and shower while working, and left them both a mess after the job was done. I noticed one of the toilets was leaking several days later, but I tightened it up and it was fine. This was typical-- great work on the floor and then half-hearted follow up. Now, the floors...They look great and turned out just fine. I was worried about the grout, and the guys took great care redoing the area where I wanted the cracks fuller and flush...So not a pleasant experience, but all in all a good finished project, and a pretty good deal -- I think!
Description of Work: Original price was for 399.00 installation of a small bathroom floor in ceramic tile. This did not include removal and reseating of toilet which was an extra 75. I decided to do the second bath while they were here and the quote ran about 15 a sq ft not counting the toilet reseating etc. I paid to upgrade to a higher quality of tile for the second bath-- about an extra 1 dollar per foot. I asked to see some other selections but there were only 3 for the sale price and surprisingly only 2 more choices if I paid extra.
