Everything was going well -- price quoted was fair. After they removed the AC unit from the roof of my home I was informed that they would not proceed with the job because I wanted them to have a city permit. At the beginning of the job I was asked if I wanted the work performed with a permit and I responded yes. I was left without AC for my home in the middle of a hot spell in June. I found another company that will do the work, but must wait two weeks without AC in my home. Very unprofessional and questionable that this company would only want to do work without a permit.

After reading reviews on Angie's List and finding out that they do installations for Costco, we chose Around the Clock (even though they were the most expensive of the 3 quotes we received) because we wanted to make sure we did not skimp on such a major project - installation of a new HVAC system. While the system is working great and our house is much cooler than with our swamp cooler and/or window AC units, we were disappointed with a few aspects of the job. As far as when the crew was on the job... they were on time, clean, and the job got completed in the time that they said it would - 2 days. My concerns came up in the days/weeks after the job was completed when a contractor came to the house to look at some additional work being done. Part of the quote from our job was that they would "remove" two existing floor gas heaters in our home. When the contractor and I were looking at repairing the hardwood floors where the heaters have been removed, we found that one of the heaters had actually just been left under the house in the crawlspace. A few minutes later, I asked my contractor to check out the attic because I knew that the workers had smashed an asbestos vent pipe from one of the old heaters so they could run electric wires through it from the crawlspace under the house up to the attic and eventually the package HVAC unit on the roof. I know that health issues arise with asbestos when it disturbed (like smashing it apart and leaving it exposed in the attic.) The contractor confirmed that this was the case and he was rather alarmed and surprised that a "retail" top-dollar job had been done with these methods. After talking with the owner, Alan, about my concerns, his response was basically this is the way that things are done. He said that leaving the heater under the house is called "dropping" the unit and that the unit was too big to remove out of the crawl space. I think that with some effort and a Sawzall it could have been removed, but either way, I wish that they would have been clearer that they were leaving smashed up appliances under our house. I told him about the asbestos pipe and he told me, again, often times that is "how it's done" because it's the easiest way to get the wires through the house. When I told him I had safety concerns about the asbestos being exposed, he said that the workers should have put some kind of coating on the exposed areas as a protection against any of the asbestos fibers getting airborne. I sent him photos confirming that there was no coating applied. During this call, he mentioned something about "sealing" the unit to the roof (to protect against rain penetrating where the HVAC and the roof meet) and that it had not been done yet because they thought maybe we were getting a new roof very soon. This was the first I had heard that the job was not complete and I don't know where the idea of the new roof came from other than our roof is old and going to need to be done in the next few years. Alan said he would send out someone to coat the pipe and do the roof "sealing". They came out that day or the next to do the work. After talking to the worker about the pipe (same guy who was heading the crew on the installation days), he acted like this was a waste of time and told me, "We never put this coating on these asbestos pipes when we break them." That was disconcerning and it made me feel like the owner doesn't really know what his crews are/are not doing or, more likely, that they just are doing whatever they need to do to get the job done quick, cheap and easy. Overall - the big disappointment for me and my wife... if we wanted the job to be "quick, cheap, easy, and maybe cut a few corners, we would have gone with a different HVAC company that was much cheaper, and we would expect that because "you get what you pay for", but we didn't, we went for the retail installer and feel that the job was less than retail.

They promised to arrive before 10 a.m. and got here around 8:30! I thought that was great. Art checked out the heating unit in the attic and explained to me why it was malfunctioning and what needed to be done. He fixed it in an hour or less. He was very polite and explained everything carefully. I've used this company before and will gladly do so again.

They were prompt and professional. The work was quite difficult as the house is a 1920's house with many levels. We also did zones for the various levels. Performance has been quite good, and I can already see savings on gas consumption. They did come out and make some adjustments after the system was installed and that was done quickly.

He did lecture me that I need to pre-heat the oven for 25 mins which I have never ever done, for my oven to function properly and I think that is ridiculous. I followed his advised but noting is working out. The muffins are not browning and rising.

I'm so thankful to have found Around the Clock Heating and AC. The woman in office was so nice and helpful when I called. Work was done promptly. Everything was explained. Serviceman showed up on time and was reliable and followed through with everything. System is running well and is repaired. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. They were great!

The repairman knew exactly what was wrong by the sound of our AC. It was either the motor or the capacitor. He had a new capacitor in his truck and showed me with a power device to prove it was new. And yes, that's all that needed replacement. He tested our AC several times to make sure our AC was functioning properly before leaving. He put the motor back together. Paid on site. Process did not take long. All went well. I would contact this company again if I need future repairs for my heater/AC.

They are wonderful to work with. They give me a reminder call, set it, show up when they come, and the same guy that I see for 10 years. So it's good. I know when we originally went with them to install the air conditioning, we got several quotes and it was a good price and we were impressed with the company and stayed with them. Around The Clock is very proactive in scheduling services, very polite when they do so, and very easy to work with. The service professional is always very friendly, very clear about any maintenance beyond regular repairs that need to happen, great communication in general and very friendly.

Perfectly! They gave the best estimate, were extremely professional. They came on time, did all the work promised, never had any problems, never asked for any extra money, and finished on time. They also cleaned up beautifully. The men who did the work were very nice, respectful, polite and clean. Absolutely great experience.

The same guy always comes, so he knows where everything is because he helped install it.

When my air conditioner went out, my stomach dropped...not only because it was triple digit heat but all I could think about was who should I call, were they going to be any good, were they going to take me for a ride, would I possibly be able to believe anything they said. When I looked at the reviews for this business I was very impressed and thought I would give them a try. What a wonderful business! I called first thing in the morning and someone was at my door in about three hours. That alone surprised me because I thought I would have to wait several days just to have somebody come out to diagnose the problem. My problem was diagnosed very quickly and all the one of the parts was not available until the next day, they returned the next morning to complete the job. They were so professional, very punctual, explained everything they were doing what the cost was going to be. I am so thankful to have found this wonderful business and would highly recommend them to others .

We decided that the cost of replacing the part wasn't worth it so we went with replacing the entire unit. Someone else was going to come back out but we had scheduling problems, so I reached out to other companies. It wasn't bad scheduling it was just busy. The charge was for a standard service fee visit. They were fine, the cost seems to be the going rate. They came out very quickly.

I appreciate that they walked me through what the problem was and explained my options and were mindful of my future plans for my house and gave recommendations on long term plans and not an immediate way to fix things.

Called Saturday night left a message, they called me back Sunday at 9am and got a technician to us at 11am. Great response specially for a week-end call and after record breaking heat week.

It didn't go well, their prices made no sense and when I questioned it they walked off the job. I expressed my dissatisfaction and they said they didn't want a negative review. When I agreed to the price and have them do the work they walked off the job.

I have a service contract with them; I had for a number of years. They're very good. They usually come in twice a year. I'm very pleased with them. They change filters and check the furnace and air conditioning units. I think it's a fair price. They're very good. Their quality is very good. We haven't had any major issue that requires them to do something that would be a test to their quality. They keep the place warm in the winter time and cool in the summer time. They're probably better at keeping track when they have to come out than I am. They give you a range, I wanna to say three or four hours, they're always in the range. I think we had pretty much the same guy every year except one exception. I would highly recommend them.
