Description of Work: We were in the process of closing escrow and needed to have some asbestos ducts removed from an attic crawl before we could move in. Seller paid for it, but we found and hired All Clear. Larry fit us in despite a busy schedule because of our urgent timeline and also pointed out that there was asbestos glue on the tiles of our garage floor. His crew came out a week later and removed the ducts from the attic crawl along with the cracked/damaged tile sections on the garage, then also discovered more asbestos ducts in the dirt under the crawl space of our house and removed them even though it wasn't in the job description. In consideration of the extra work, Larry bumped the price $100, which was likely much less additional cost than it would have been had it been in the original agreement. So I was very happy and am planning to use All Clear again soon to remove the rest of those garage tiles.

Description of Work: We had to have about 200 sf of popcorn ceiling abated and about 300 sf of linoleum tile abated (both contained asbestos). After getting a quote from another provider, our contractor (Nick from Rose City Construction) recommended we check with All Clear Environmental for a better price. He was right. Larry came out to the house and gave us a much better quote for abatement and disposal. He clearly explained the process he would use, with three room containment in the garage, negative pressure to keep all friable asbestos in the work area without contaminating the rest of the house, and how to apply for an EPA number for waste disposal. I was concerned about the process because we have a 3 year old in the house, but All Clear Environmental was meticulous and thorough in their process. The only unfortunate thing was the timing - because they did the work on a Friday and Saturday, we ended up being locked out of our kitchen and dining area for an extra day since the asbestos testing facility wasn't open on Sunday to give us permission to go back in there. Small inconvenience for getting rid of that hazardous waste, though!

Description of Work: Larry (owner) is very unprofessional. I called 8/10/14 asking if he services my area since I knew he was located in Hollywood and it would be a drive to my area, but he stated that they do. I didn't have the asbestos report on hand, but I knew the square footage of the areas that needed remediation. He gave me a ball park figure and said he'll give me an actual proposal once the report was emailed to him. I received the report 8/11/14 and sent it immediately to him. He emails me back a question, I answer, and that was the last I heard from him. I emailed again 8/12 to clarify some of my requests, but no response. I understand people change their mind and things happen, but at least be professional about it and send an email so that customers are not left hanging and wasting their time on empty promises. Very disappointed.

Description of Work: I used All Clear to remove the popcorn ceiling in my condo. My condo HOA said I had to use a licensed asbestos removal and abatement contractor. I joined Angie's List specifically to find such a professional. I went with All Clear because they had the most reviews and they were positive. | |Larry the owner was great! He educated me quite a bit about the whole process. He came on time to cost the job. I selected him. Because I did not want to completely move out we did it as a two phase job - I moved everything to the living room and they did the bedrooms and hallway. In the second phase, after 2 weeks, I moved everything back to the bedrooms and they did the living and diving areas. Each phase took one day. | |There was a 2 week lag coz I was doing other remodeling work like plastering, putting recess lights, painting and flooring. Larry accommodated that very graciously (even if it cost me additional fee in getting the permits. Its how it works - every time you stop and restart an asbestos job, you have to reapply for the permit). | |The only thing that I would have appreciated was the follow-up calls after each phase was done to let me know when my other crew could go back and continue with the remodeling. They had to wait for the popcorn to be removed before they could plaster, put recess lights etc. I had requested follow-up calls each time - both by talking to Larry on the phone and by email. The first time I did not get a call back so I went to check the place the same day the job was done. The job was completed so I called Larry to ask if it was ok to go in. I left a voice mail and he called me right back. I also requested a call back the second time after phase two was completed also on a Friday. I did not get a call back. I went in anyway and the job was completed. The other crew moved in right away. I mistakenly called Larry on Sunday (meant to call my other contractor) but I hang up before he picked up. As I was speaking to the right call recipient, Larry called and left me a voice-mail that I could do in. This was two days later though and if I had gone by this I would have wasted two days of remodeling. | |I will chalk this part to him maybe forgetting to do the follow-on calls; one ok. Not sure about the second time. But everything else was great! The job was professionally and well done, done in a timely manner and they cleaned up after themselves. Overall, I had a good experience and I would use Larry again anytime and would refer him to my friends and family. |

Description of Work: Would go with another company next time. They did an average cleaning but didn't show up to clean rugs twice.

Description of Work: Removed asbestos containing ducts from single story 1,700 sq. ft house built in 1976, prior to installation of new heat/A/C system. Encapsulated asbestos in areas where it could not be removed. | |The crew arrived as scheduled, and sealed all vents in hours. They used negative air pressure to keep asbestos contained wile they worked. All ducts/material removed was bagged, and and disposed of in compliance with federal and State regulations. The removal took approximately 2.5 hours with a crew of 3. Work was completed as bid, which included a 10% discount for Angie's List members. We were very pleased with the service.

Description of Work: We made an appointment with Larry of ALL CLEAR. On day of appointment he called & left a voicemail - "to confirm the appointment". But he was a NO SHOW. Never heard from them since. NO Shows are unprofessional - can't trust to do the job.

Description of Work: All Clear sent a very knowledgable and professional estimator to advise us on Asbestos removal. (We have some over-wrap paper insulation on HVAC ducts in the attic, that has been tested positive to contain Asbestos - condo built in mid-1970's) Although they are capable of doing the service, we elected not to - on their advice. There are areas where it would require de-building the interior walls, etc. to access all of it. With All Clear's help, we determined the risk of exposure would be greater during removal than leaving in place. We appreciated their honesty and professionalism. Note: Other companies we consulted with were willing to say anything to get a contract.

Description of Work: Rodents where making nest, birds too and the two where shredding the air ducts over the boys bedrooms. It started with finding them in the garage and then having the ducts checked and they were reproducing in attics as well. The All Clear Environmental Company came out quickly and finished in two days the two attics, the garage and sanitized everywhere twice with time for all to vacate. The team was professional and the job was completed to our satisfaction. They have been out one other time to check and change filters. We are very pleased with the job and the crew. A+ All around.

Description of Work: I called All Clear because I believed my house had asbestos in an abandoned vent and in the old plaster walls. The owner of the company responded promptly with a service call to my Santa Monica residence. He took samples of the suspected areas, labeled them, and then gave me the name of a testing company that would respond to me directly with the results. None of the samples contained asbestos, so the services of All Clear to come back and properly dispose of the materials was not required. I highly recommend this company. They are professional and trust worthy. The process was adequately explained. This is the company I will call to address any of my future environmental needs.

Description of Work: I did not have the service done because the technition did not show up at the schedeled time and called a half an hour late wondering where I was!

Description of Work: I contacted Larry for consulting about asbestos presence in my condo (built in 1978) when the home inspector indicated that I might have it. Larry walked me through the process of testing different areas of the house, and we finally cornered it to floor mastic. Larry's team came over removed mastic from my kitchen/dining room floor, cleaned the air in the room for 24+ hours. Larry even introduced me to a very professional consultant who helped doing the testing after the cleanup was performed. Larry's commitment to time was exceptional as I was in a rush to get this done. He got the job done right, got it done on time.

Description of Work: They were great and did not charge me a thing. They said that my house was safe and it was better to leave the bit of insulation that had asbestos as it was in perfect shape. They seemed honest and were obviously not out for my money.Good folks with a local feel. Top notch.
