They quoted $79 as a service call. And we were told that ADDITIONAL labor and parts would be charged if needed. The repairman came out, took a look. It took him one minute to diagnose. It was a faulty wire which was repaired within five minutes. Before he did the repair he informed us it would be an ADDITIONAL $60 to reconnect the wire and add a new .50 cent clamp. Something that literally took him 30 seconds, and about 4 minutes to put it back together. We complained, got on the phone with the office, who told us there's nothing they can do, it's their policy. Finally they shaved it down to about $120 if we'd pay cash. Hello IRS - they aren't reporting this one, I assure you. We told them it was unconscionable to hold us hostage...to just be willing to leave after we pay $79 and do nothing, when the actual repair was negligible. They didn't care. Folks - this is their deal. Charge a high service call fee, then hold you hostage to pay the rest or they'll just leave you, $79 poorer, and with a machine that still doesn't work. ANY reputable company would have considered 5 minutes of labor a throw in with a $79 service call. ANY reputable company. Say NO to service scams. I wish my husband had listened to me, and got a provider from Angies List - but he didn't...he used these people because he vaguely remembered having used them in the distant past. Never again...
Description of Work: Washing machin wouldn't spin or drain. Turns out it was repairing one wire.

We purchased a home that was in some disrepair. The KitchenAid oven door had been pulled off the oven and the glass had been broken. We called this company, explained the problem. They indicated they would order the glass and then call when it was available. They then called and said the glass was in stock and they would install it on a particular date. They indicated they would call a short time before they came out. They never called or came out. We called them back, and they stated that the glass had not arrived yet. They called a couple days later and said the glass was in and would come out to install. They showed up without calling ahead of time so that we weren't at the house. The repairman installed the glass in the middle of the living room, left the broken glass on the floor and didn't put the door back on the oven. When we realized what had happened, we called them back and they said they would send the repairman back out. Then they called back and said that there were no hinges and they would have to order the hinges. They called a couple weeks later and indicated the hinges were in stock and set up a time to come out. They then came out with one correct hinge and one mismatched hinge. I called them back and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that the supervisor was in a meeting and/or on a call the entire day. A helpful person, Beatrice, then scheduled the "service manager" to come out to install the correct hinges after we moved into the house. He called to say he was on his way to the house and showed up an hour later. The oven finally was fixed.
Description of Work: Replace glass in oven door and reinstall the door on the oven.
