Quick response to estimate request (three days). Began work 9:30AM, 4/25. Professional in demeanor with beneficial recommendations for an improved job. Clear and specific regarding possible costs for an unquantifiable potential site condition, "hardpan". Punctual and focused work. Of concern to us was overnight security of our homes posed by an open fence. He did the work while maintaining the fence closure for our security. Mr Mcmullen works alone, and constantly checked with us as the work progressed. This is a great benefit to the homeowner since any questions that arise can be immediately addressed. Another advantage...no "crew" members stomping around in our yards, flowers and planting beds. Mr McMullen is amazingly fast, thorough, and builds a product both functional and attractive...without skimping on quality. The job came in exactly on his estimate with a very reasonable amount added for additional work we requested and failed to identify at the start. Work site cleanup was excellent. Any "response" problem might be attributable to his necessary reliance upon his voice mail service while working. My neighbor and I unequivocally recommend Mr McMullen, and wish all our contracting experiences had been, and will be, this good.
Description of Work: Approximately 100 lineal feet of 6-foot high dog-eared boards, three rails, concreted 4x4 posts on 8-foot centers, all redwood. A 4-foot, site fabricated, redwood gate, 20+ feet of "double finish facing" ,and 40-feet of "kick-planking". Site cleanup.

I won't call again.
Description of Work: I called the owner to get an estimate on fencing. He answered in an irritated way as if I had inconvienenced him by the call. He was definitely not motivation to get my business. Next................

Chris provided an accurate estimate and explained the pros and cons of the different materials. He was busy and scheduled the work for three weeks out. It was worth the wait. The price was easily the lowest in the area, and the quality of the work is first rate. The new fence is straight and level, and the tongue and groove boards are beautiful and leave no gaps-total privacy. Given the quality and cost of redwood fencing material available, the cedar is a great alternative. He was on time, and worked long hours to finish the job on time despite a few problems working with the existing site. Cleaned up afterwards and carted off all the old materials. A straight shooting, honest contractor.
Description of Work: Replaced 96 feet of old wood fence that blew down. Chris removed the old fence and built a new 6 foot high fence using first quality Post Master steel posts set in concrete, three redwood rails with tongue and groove cedar fence boards. Price included two gates which were custom built to match the site conditions. One year warranty on materials and workmanship.

When called for an estimate, Chris was informative about materials and best installation. Price was 25%-40% off other quotes. Chris required that my neighbors and I remove overgrown ivy from existing fence, and also required 8 weeks advance scheduling for mid-summer installation. However, when the time came, Chris was there as promised, was very professional, left no mess and completed the job in one day. My neighbors shared the cost of the fence (their share is included in the above price) and are very pleased as well.
Description of Work: Removed 98' existing fence and installed new overlapped cedar fence along one side of house and a 5' cedar gate. Had to incorporate 25' of relatively new existing fence in the middle of the fence run.

Unlike other contractors, he came on time and went right to work. He continued to work until the job was complete and clean up was done. There is no question that he knows how to do the job.
Description of Work: Tear down and replace 78 feet of fencing plus 6 feet with gate. Posts are cemented in. Clean up and take away old fencing.
