Harvey's House Painting

Great, in and out, no time wasted. They were not able to do some finishing work which, I would have liked to know first. Now, that has to be done and we'll have to paint it. Very minor paint in hallway carpet, cleaned up pretty well. Overall, still very happy.

I can't say enough good things about Rich Harvey, his foreman, Wilmer, and the entire crew. It was a great pleasure working with them on this project from beginning to end. They were friendly, helpful, flexible, punctual, clean, and polite. The quality of workmanship is superb. For every detail I raised or problem I presented, they simply and happily responded with a solution, or carried out my wishes. I was skeptical about how our oak cabinetry would look after painting, but we couldn't be happier with the results. Price is very competitive and fair. For any painting need in the future, we now have only one call to make!

Israel and the other two on his team did a fantastic job painting the interior of our home. Disgusting cabinets became practically new and the quality was fantastic. I had to move in and have appliance delivered a few days after they job started and the team did a great job painting the areas required to get appliances and furniture moved in. We would use Harvey's again for our external painting needs when the home needs it.

They did a great job -- very professional and punctual.

One word: SPECTACULAR This was professionalism at its highest caliber. From the moment my husband met Rich for the proposal, it all continued to move higher and higher in terms of service and quality. He was incredibly responsive and so was AJ in his office. As for the paint crew, these guys are "artists." Anyone can paint a house. However, to paint it correctly, with precision, with care, and with the utmost attention to detail...it takes an artist with an artist's eye. My husband and I were in complete awe when we saw the finished product. Rich and his crew made the house feel like "home." Moving forward, Rich and Harvey's House Painting is the only name I'm keeping in my "contact list" for family, friends, and professional colleagues that ask for a paint reference.

They did the dry rot repairs, power washed, caulked and prepped for painting. The dry rot repair work was very good. The quality of painting of the house, fences, and trellis was also very good. The crew was polite and friendly. I am satisfied with the work. That being said, I have some questions about a few aspects of the work. They painted the body of the house in a flat white color as I expected. Two small sections of the house were to be painted dark brown. They used a glossy dark brown paint on those sections, so I now have flat paint on 90% of body the house and glossy on 10% of body the house. I'm not sure why they did this. Also, they painted the wing fences and trellis with glossy paint and it was painted/stained in flat previously. I wasn't expecting a glossy finish on my fence and trellis. Because the backside of the wing fences was not included in the work, the fence now has two different finishes on it--it's kind of odd. And the color matching of the fences and trellis was a little off--it's not as dark a brown as it used to be. These aren't huge issues, but they did impact my overall satisfaction with the work. The crew finished work while I was not home, and they did not put back all of the heavy items they'd moved to paint the house, and they did not put the house numbers back up. I called and they promptly sent a crew over to move the heavy items back into their places. I asked, again, to have the house numbers put back up, and was told they could not do so because they did not have a drill. I had to hire a handyman to put the numbers back up and that cost me an extra $40. So, while I am pleased with the painting part, I do have some issues with the overall experience. Overall, I'd rate it somewhere between a B+ and an A-. Would I use them again? Probably. But if I did, I would ask very specific questions about the paint finish to be used and about the smaller details like getting the house numbers put back up.

This company went above and beyond! 1st, Mr. Harvey came out personally to see the work that needed to get done (1st floor common areas) and gave me a packet with a detailed description of what to expect and what was included in the service. My house has a lot of deferred maintenance with holes, drywall missing from corners and damaged texture. His crew was both professional and very approachable. They did not get irritated if I asked questions or asked them to pay particular attention to something. They patched a very large hole, custom texturized the spots where I removed some columns (both items were outside the original scope) and then worked incredibly hard to finish the job on time. There are many little details they did which made the final product so beautiful. I look forward to working with them on the exterior of the house and on any other future projects.

Wow! Absolutely fantastic. The team met with me the morning of to confirm the room, colors, and schedule. Not even that, though - when they saw what "damage" had occurred to the floorboards around the room, they went out to their truck, retrieved some white paint, and included a touch up repaint to them as well at no additional cost. Harvey's squad was very professional, and once they arrived, they went right to work - no slouching around or goofing off. I was very impressed with their detail. The "whole day" really only lasted about 4 hours! They stopped a couple of times to ask me if their detail job was sufficient, which was a welcome surprise and they absolutely nailed it. I was elated at the final product, and wish we had more for them to paint! We will definitely be recommending Harvey's and using them in the future.

Harvey's guys taped, painted, moved a couple of heavy items, and cleaned up everything. They were great! I recommend them without hesitation.

We wanted to get a couple of interior rooms painted before the holidays after doing some construction in the house. I called Harvey?s based on Angie?s List ratings and reviews and was not disappointed. Rich?s crew showed up the day before Thanksgiving, on time and got right to work. They painted the kitchen, master bedroom and master bath in about 6 hours. The job was clean and edges looked smooth. There was a couple of trim places missed due to a miscommunication. Rich sent a couple of guys out and fixed it right away. What more can you ask? We thought the price was fair and reasonable and will be using Harvey?s again in the future.

The project took 2 days. It was easy and quick to schedule. I work in a completely different city than I live and didn't have anyone available to let the painters in. My home was vacant so I worked with Mr. Harvey to provide access to his painters. I posted sticky notes on every wall, door, ceiling with the colors I wanted. And, without my presence his crew came into my home and painted every room to my specifications. They finished on time. They were neat. And I couldn't be more pleased with the finished product. I am not a designer at all and Mr. Harvey provided me with color combo brochures and, as a result, every room looks professionally designed. I chose 12 different colors for my 1050 sq. ft. townhome and I wasn't charged anything extra. Mr. Harvey said the different colors would not change the amount of labor. It's gorgeous and immediately made a vast improvement over the ugly walls and carpet that were present when I purchased it. The paint was done so well, it almost made me forget about the ugly carpet throughout the house....I said almost! I'd recommend them to anyone looking to have interior painting done in their home. I can't wait to move in!!!! I'm overjoyed with the finished product!!!!

It went horrible. I am a pretty patient person, so when they called me at 10:05 to tell me that their guy messed up the time and thought it was at 12:00, I was understanding and didn't get worked up about it. He said the guy would be there in about an hour and a half, so my wife took the opportunity to run an errand real quick and was back by 11:25. When she walked up to the front door she found a pamphlet from Harvey's and the guy had already left. The company called me to follow up and reschedule for the following Monday, but I declined and will go with someone else. I probably would have given them another chance if they had at least attempted to call me and let me know they arrived earlier (even know they blew the first appointed time) than what they said they would. I would have had the opportunity to tell them she was just around the corner and already on her way home. Thanks for wasting our time.

Rich showed up on time to do the initial walkthrough, and provided an estimate the next day. Once we signed the contract, they scheduled us, and showed up the day they said they would. The crew was punctual, and efficient. They completed the entire job in 1.5 days, and left a clean worksite. They caulked everything, were very careful to mask and protect all unpainted elements, and did an amazing job with cutting in the painted edges. They added some nice touches as well, such as painting the gas main and electrical panel box. They used high-grade (Sherwin Williams) paint, and left me with extra. They were careful to do a through walk-around with me at the end, and touched up the few misses and splatters that I noticed. I could not have been happier.

Harvey emailed to say he got quite a bit jobs and wasn't able to fit us into his schedule as we were on a tight deadline. I completely respect and appreciate this. We met with many companies that don't send us an estimate and don't explain why. We will definitely consider using this company in the future based on their professionalism.

We talked with a neighbor that used Harvey's a month before, and they said they were very pleased with the work. We got 4 estimates and we felt very comfortable with Rich and A.J. The crew ( Israel and Juan, sorry I don't recall the other two names) showed up and were friendly and seemed to really enjoy their work. They always asked how we wanted things done. There was an issue with the trim color. Sherwin Williams did not match our paint code from another paint company. Rich was right on top of it, and had a Sherwin Williams representative at our house within 30 minutes. He agreed the color was incorrect and had the trim paint remixed to match the sample. We were impressed with the quality and workmanship. The house looks great and we will definitely use Harvey's for the interior.

Left a voicemail requesting an estimate for exterior painting on 10/14. On 10/16 I entered a quote request on his website since I did not receive a call back. Have not heard from the company since then. I am assuming they don't need the business.

Mr. Harvey was very professional and the work performed was outstanding. He responded the following day to my request for an estimate, provided a complete portfolio of his company including a copy of his bond. His estimate was very reasonable, the exterior of the house is stucco which he recommended not to paint since it was in very good condition which saved me about $2500. The work was completed on the days he scheduled and was on time. I will definitely be using him again in the future.

I was promised 8 hours of painting. The guy who scheduled me was super accommodating and pleasant, they got me right in. Wilmer came out, showed up right on time and was delightful. He finished the project in half the time expected so I asked if he could come back on a future date and do 4 more hours? Again Harvey's accommodated my request and two guys showed up this morning, moved some furniture I wasn't able to move and repainted my Living room, (The color I'd chosen at Home Depot that I thought was grey looked baby blue so I got a new color.) I am more than happy with the price, workmanship and professionalism provided! Great job guys!

Wilmer arrived ready to work. We made a brief pit-stop to Sherwin Williams (at my suggestion, and they were having a SALE) and then returned back to my place. No fooling around. I explained to him what I needed done, and he got to it. He covered everything in plastic (furniture, baseboards, tables, chairs, etc), covered the floors in drop cloths, and then began scraping off the old paint from the ceiling. Then he sanded it down. After, he primed and applied the paint. And it turned out lovely. Then he turned his attention to my walls. One wall was a breeze, as the previous color was neutral, so there was no need for a tinted primer. My accent wall was a little more difficult as the former color was a deep color and it required 3 coats of paint, which Wilmer graciously applied. Wilmer cleaned up behind himself and the walls/ceiling look fabulous. I can't wait to have the crown moulding and new baseboards installed.

This is an update to my previous review. Due to extenuating circumstances Rich Harvey of Harvey's House Painting was unable to fulfill my request for an estimate. In the interest of fairness and compassion, I offer my apologies and condolences to him and his family and have revised my review accordingly. I contacted this company on 9/7/15 for an estimate to paint the exterior of my home. On 9/17/15, I received an email via Angie's List messaging system from Rich Harvey that he had come out to look at the house and would be sending me his bid later that day. On 9/21/15, I again contacted this company to find out if they had sent me the bid. No response. Today is 9/25/15. I have yet to hear from Harvey's House painting and I have not received a bid. I'm beginning to realize that one cannot depend on the ratings given to service providers. It's misleading because it is not a true representation of how a service provider extends customer service or customer relations to all customers. That includes potential customers as well as past customers. Customer service is service extended before, during and after a sale of such services. Subscriber's to Angie's List patronize a company specifically because of its rating on service. If a business is inconsistent in this regard, then the overall rating should reflect good service as well as the bad. That includes customer relations not just services provided. When a business disrespects a potential customer, the customer's time or the customer's expectation of a business's willingness to follow through, don't expect glowing accolades.

Wilber came out exactly on time to start the job. He was friendly and easy to work with. He first removed 3 large mirrors from the walls then proceeded to wipe down the walls before beginning the painting. The two-coat paint job was excellent and he cleaned up everything before leaving. I will have additional painting done later and will call Harvey's again. I felt the price was more than fair for the time spent ensuring the job was perfect. If all the painters are as detailed as Wilber, then this company is a sure winner.

It was fine. They came out right away. They had to come out to retouch some things but they did the work and came out promptly.

Purchased the interior painter for 8hrs deal for $320. I was very hesitant as this is my first time using Angie's List and have been very frustrated with painters that I've tried to contact outside of Angie's List. This went as smooth as can be. One painter showed up on time and ready to work. I provided 5 gallons of paint which wasn't enough. The painter offered to go get the extra paint that he needed to finish the job as I had just put my sick baby down for a nap. The paint looks great, he cleaned up after himself, and got the job done in the allotted time. It was also 100+ degrees out. I'm very pleased and will try Harvey's House painting again.

We are very happy with the quality of the work performed. We highly recommend Harvey's House Painting. We will use them again to meet our painting needs.
