Description of Work: I had hedges around my house cleaned up and my lemon tree trimmed back. Julio did great work and would hire him again for any jobs I need done.

Description of Work: Service provider refused to honor coupon, said they were "no longer providing services for this coupon." If they were not able to honor the number of coupons sold, they should not have offered it in the first place.

Description of Work: It took numerous calls to get a response, then two no-show appointments before provider showed. I thought it was odd that no measurements of my lawn were taken, as the big deal was for a landscaping plan--but was told - "don't worry, I just pace things off, and I have a really good sense of dimensions." Yipes! Subsequently, I have received no plans, have made calls and emails inquiring--and finally did get an email reply from one of the co-owners, who stated that her husband had left her with all of the kids, and she didn't know anything about my plan. Yipes, again! Does Angie's list do ANY due diligence on firms that you offer on your promotions?

Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal with Green Retreats Landscaping for an assessment/analysis with plans on March 18, 2013 and I emailed them to set up an appointment. They called back on March 20th and we agreed to meet on March 27th. Julio showed up on time. I explained that we needed work done in both the back and front yards and wanted suggestions and estimates for work in both. Julio explained that the deal was only for the front or back yard and not both. So I decided he could concentrate on the front yard. Julio kept telling me that he was very busy, but would work hard to get my job done in a timely manner. He seemed a little frustrated that I was unsure about what I wanted and didn't really offer many suggestions or new ideas. We discussed my vision and talked about different materials. He began sketching what our yard currently looked like and wrote down that the estimate would be for brick on the patio. Julio said he would make up a design and that I could expect to receive it by email by the end of the week of April 12th. I emailed on April 29th checking on the status of my design. Within 15 minutes, I received an email from Amber (Julio's wife) apologizing for the delay and that she would remind Julio again. I then sent an email on May 8th stating that I had still not received my design plan and that I checked my spam and trash emails just in case they had accidentally gone there, but no luck. On May 24th, I sent an email stating that I would be forced to contact Angie's list and take action for services paid for but not provided if I did not receive the plans in hand by May 31st. On May 28th, I received an email from Amber apologizing but that the reality was that Julio walked out on her, their pregnancy, the other 5 kids and on the business at the end of April. She would be going to court tomorrow and the lawyer was to hand over all the business paperwork, so she would hopefully have my plans by the next day. On May 30th, I received an email from Amber apologizing for the delay and the plan was attached. When I opened the attachment, I was shocked and frustrated to see that my "plans" were only the original sketch that he drew at my house back on March 27th. I decided to then contact Angie's List for help in receiving a refund for the amount I paid.

Description of Work: Their office called the day before my scheduled appt. to reschedule due to weather conditions. I was not able to reshedule when they wanted so the original time and date were kept and he did show up on time. I explained what I wanted, he had some suggestions. He showed me some of his work (pictures) then went about measuring. I wrote down my e mail address and he said that he would try and get the estimate done within a day or so, but that it might take up to 5 days (Monday) as he was so busy. He assured me that it would be no later than Monday the 25th. I never received an estimate through e-mail or phone call. I have two suggestions for the company; Remove your sunglasses at least for a moment when speaking to your customer. Don't make a commitment that you cannot keep, especially when you tell a customer how important your family name and reputation is on the line with the business that you own/run.

Description of Work: Julio started out very good and at that time he had a helper since then he has become a 1 man operation and things take a little longer but the quality is still good. Julio works very hard and is concerned about getting things right.

Description of Work: This vendor was not able to service my area. They wanted to accommodate the purchased deal but were just too busy. I received a prompt and hassle free refund from Angie's. That was the best part of the transaction.

Description of Work: They worked hard. I missed their special by12 hours so I paid the full amount. Their cleanup was thorough but I provided the 6 bags for cleanup which were left for me to dispose of. I am not sure whether they were supposed to take the grass and clippings with themor not. They also left a large pile of cuttings behind one bush which I only discovered today. They should have told me this rather than me having to find it. In mowing the lawn and edging they scalped the grass in places, The services provided were to mow and edge the lawn and do an overall cleanup.

Description of Work: I used him to install a drainage system in my backyard to help drain a flood area.

Description of Work: Came on time for the estimate/assessment of the job needed. Said he would arrange to return to do the work on Saturday between 8-8:30AM. Did not show up. Called the number--someone answered--she said our work order was on the schedule but that he was at another job. Julio called back a few minutes later saying he was in the hospital or going to the hospital--his story kept changing. He said his wife had been gone, he had to take care of the kids, didn't want his wife to know about his back injury (for which he apparently was going to the hospital for)- arranged to come on Sunday to do the work. We canceled and do not intend to reschedule. No services provided.
