From the first phone call from James to the end of the job he listened, suggested and took his time to explain why and how. He was on the job site w/ his crew which is what we wanted. We felt confident with James and were happy with the end result.

James Kennedy is a wonderful human being and a superlative contractor. James returns call when he says he will, is always on time ,very experienced and responsible, very fair and knowledgeable. He is a man of his word and he delivers ahead of time. The personal ethics and work ethics extend to the members of his crew who are first class in their skills, quality of product, timeliness, sense of honor in themselves and respect for others. They were always on time, demonstrated their trade skills which included problem solving , critical thinking, preparation, design and execution of tasks with the care and eye for detail as if working on their own home. The latter is evidenced by taking some extra time at days end ,to put things in cleaned up order at the end of the workday, having their own sense of not just restoring order but actually improving the environment. In my daily experiences, when I observe someone doing a really good job with a great attitude I look forward to complimenting them and passing that along to their employer or supervisor. These are the people that may not make the headlines but ,more importantly , they contribute to our lives pleasant , civil, less stressful and out a higher quality. I am very grateful that James Kennedy of KDOC returned my request for services Himself!( vs several robo -call pre qualifiers-ughhh!) That was a very fortunate day for me! I love my re-do of my patio and enjoy it every day. I could not be more pleased with the results. ***WE HAVE TERMITES THROUGHOUT OUR BRAND NEW DECK DUE TO SHODDY CONSTRUCTION AND LACK OF FINISH WORK NOT DONE BY KDOC CONSTRUCTION. *** We have a beautiful-looking new deck which KDOC Construction finished in May. I say *beautiful-looking* because at first glance - it is. However, the work on the deck, and especially the clean up, was never completed by James. THIS IS OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THEIR WORK: After the wood railing was installed, I asked James to caulk or fill in the spaces between the spindles, the horizontal wood support beams, and the posts, with some sort of sealant. He said no - they are fine. Well, now they are not. We have termites at every post due to the spaces left in between the wood. Now we are stuck paying to have the entire deck fumigated. Less than 4 months after construction. In addition to the above issue, James left rebar from our old deck sticking up - knowing it needed to be ground down for safety reasons, a patch of spilled and dried concrete in the middle of the patio. Also, demoed our bbq countertop with promises to replace it (as an additional job) but thought later that the job was too small for him - which left us with a block wall and rebar for most of the summer. Initially, interactions with James were easy, friendly, and amicable, but quickly turned very strained when I asked him to finish the above items with no success. The nice guy that I stupidly paid before the last details were done quickly disappeared. So sad.

KDOC has a great crew who work hard and are customer centric. James is a pleasure to work with and is eager to please.

James & KDOC Construction did a great job replacing 18 deck scuppers that were galvanized steel and had deteriorated with new custom made solid copper scuppers.

This company, and James (the owner) are beyond Terrific. They are professional, knowledgeable, thoughtful and competitively priced . They resurfaced my patio and went to extra lengths to get the exact color and texture I wanted. They offered up suggestions to make maintenance easier for me after completion. . The technicians took good care when I g removing my plants and made sure that every nook and cranny of the patio was covered correctly. and finished properly. Extra care was taken start to finish - no short cuts - to apply the four coats needed to reach the effect and color I wanted.. James supervised each facet of a three day job and everything was cleaned up after they left each evening. I cant applaud this company enough. They are true PROS and I wouldnâ t hesitate to recommend them for any facet of the construction business. They do it all! - correctly, safely and to your specifications.

James and his crew are fantastic to work with! After interviewing and getting bids from at least ten other contractors, I hired KDOC Construction to replace our existing deck that was falling apart. It is a large deck (10 x39 ) that spans the entire rear of our house. It is accessible from upstairs and provides a huge entertainment area both upstairs and underneath, so the top needed to be resurfaced and waterproofed, as well. We were leaning towards simply repairing it, and the other guys that we met with would not even entertain that and just seemed to want to sell us decks that were super tricked-out and overly decorative - which is not our style. Most of those bids were extraordinarily high and had things we did not need or want. They wouldnâ t even discuss replacement. When James the owner of KDOC came out we talked about the pros and cons of both options and we decided to go ahead w the total replaced... a great choice! He and his crew came every day (a few days off for materials to cure in between) and worked like crazy until the end of the day - never left early - ever - and cleaned up their work area at the end of each day. I was so impressed at the communication between James, his crew, and me. I always have a definite picture in my mind and was able to get just the look I wanted. Our new deck is beautiful! I highly recommend James Kennedy + KDOC Construction!!
