Escape To Paradise

We were stupid enough to purchase 3 time shares over several years. We realized that we were in over our heads and wanted to sell all three of them. We first listed with a time share reseller in Florida. Do not ever deal with a reseller from Florida. If you do your research 95% of the “resellers” are in Florida. That is because the laws are very poor and the resellers can promise anything and the state has no power to protect the consumer. We found Escape to Paradise was supposedly based in Newport Beach, CA. We contacted them and were given assurances that since they were based in California that they were honest and reliable. They told us that our upfront fee was to help them purchase Disneyland tickets to give away to entice prospective time share buyers to come to their presentations. Well we fell for it and listed our three time share for $1,200 with the assurance that the way they market the times shares they would be sold in a timely manner. We reviewed the listings that we sent them and each one was not listed as we requested. From then on, they never responded to our phone calls or emails. Their invoice states that they will refund your money if you are able to sell your timeshare within 20% of their listing price. They set the price so high that not even an idiot would pay their asking price. We were able to finally rid ourselves of the three times shares. We have repeatedly asked for our money back. They do not respond to phone messages or emails. In fact the three time shares we listed are still on their website! They are experts at avoiding Consumer Affairs, the Attorney General and the California Real Estate Board. They have the gall to have the BBB seal on their invoice. When I contacted the Better Business Bureau, I was told that they had an "F" rating with over 100 complaints of fraud, just like us.
