BURKHART BROTHERS DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION

They were really good. The outcome was really good, that we are having a hard time to recommend them. There were two accidents bringing water damages from what they were doing. They unfortunately stuck on the price. They were really disorganized, but were always on time. They were very good with cleaning up after the job. I think the supervisor did not work well. The guys have a good integrity and did a good work, with high quality. They did not charge me with any extra money for the accident fixation. They were trying to make everything right. Their customer service was also good. Overall, they have a B.

Cannot recommend. Many of the jobs were poorly executed. Now I have plumbers open walls and ask "Who in the world did this plumbing?" Had old, very valuable antique doors to be hanged and they were cut too short on the top and the bottom. To his credit Mark Burkhart stopped his worker from cutting even more off the door and instructed him to add more wood to repair them. I have since found out that these mistakes were due to a lack of experience, and they did try to repair the mistakes they made - but so many should not have been made. Did a marble slab shower for me. The dam was supposed to be long pieces of marble and ended up looking like a patchwork quilt. The slabs of marble on the wall were incorrectly attached to wall with oily silicone. Oil seeped through marble and left large oily spots all over marble. Told me that I was "too picky" about the marble and that it would clear up. When it had not done so after a month, still claimed it was going to change. I have many pictures of this marble after 4 months. The owner of the slab yard where I purchased the marble came to see it and was shocked. He and every marble installer who saw it said that it would not lose those spots because it was installed incorrectly. When I tried to explain my worries about the marble to the Burkhart Brothers, Brian Burkhart started cursing profusely and left, refusing to return. Brian and his crew left immediately, leaving jobs in the middle of being completed and a big mess surrounding those areas. As horrible as this sounds, these are not unlikable men. Mark is certainly the calmer of the two and he did admit the marble was installed in the worst way possible and gave me a partial refund. I would say that their crew is young and relatively inexperienced, having only done this type of work for a few years. Their work is inconsistent. I have seen very nice work and very poor work come from them.
