Gersain Gonzales Landscaping

The initial work that Gersain provided us was decent - albeit very rushed - but since then he has no-called/no-showed on multiple occasions. Not responded to phone calls or texts. Etc. I would caution anybody that is considering hiring him to not get your hopes up as he is extremely unreliable.

Over the years, Gersain and his crew have consistently exceeded my expectations. My yard is kept in pristine shape, with healthy green grass, lovely flowers, and he has even taken care of water features at some of the properties he has serviced for me. He will always do whatever it takes to offer exceptional service. Thank you for 17 years of outstanding landscape care!!

Gersain himself is incredibly nice, when I would have an issue he would respond quickly and his services are very affordable. The quality of the service however, wasn't up to par. I was never able to relax and rely on the job to be done properly. Every week I had notes. I had badly hoped that things would eventually get better, because I liked Gersain, but they didn't. We hired him for more than just the weekly and quot;mow and blow,and quot; we also needed our roses de-headed, weeds pulled, etc. We also asked that they point out any dry spots in the yard or any sprinkler issues. We were happy to pay for additional services needed (and we did- we added additional sprinklers and many drip lines), but it wasn't because they took the time to point out the problem, I did. The drip lines were poorly installed (loose tubes without stakes, cheap heads, and some didn't reach the actual roots of the plant) and some of them have broken and now we have 2 dead plants. We also have a large dead spot in the yard due to spilled fertilizer. When I addressed issues regarding the drip lines being crappy (and not all of them had been installed), the spilled fertilizer and the dry/dead corner of our yard, I was given excuse after excuse. One big excuse I was able to prove him wrong on. I had hoped that they would offer to come and fix the problem or at least ask for another chance, but instead, they easily gave up when I mentioned and quot;ending our services.and quot;

I found Gersain via Angie's List and based on his glowing reviews I was happy to have found him, unfortunately, in my case, he did not meet my expectations. We had had an excellent gardener for several years so maybe I'm spoiled but I was very specific with Gersain about what I wanted done - all beds weeded, shrubs trimmed, soil tilled, any debris or droppings picked up, flowers deadheaded and of course the lawn mowed and edged. Unfortunately it was as if I explained all of that and it was instantly forgotten. Most of the time his crew were here and gone (2 guys) within 30 minutes. It was just the most small fraction of a step up from mow and blow. However, I did like Gersain so I called him several times to explain things weren't being done (for instance they allowed a shrub to grow over several sprinklers and their solution was to charge me to add risers to the sprinklers rather than trim openings out for the sprinklers as have been done for over a decade), I would say, the weeding was not happening and he would say they didn't know what I meant by a weed (trust me, this was not a mystery). I gave them one more shot yesterday and they did do a slightly better job but still left tons of dead flowers on the plants around the yard, since taking over the yard they never once trimmed a bush or cleaned dead stalks off of our papyrus, it was just not a good service.

Gersain and his crew do outstanding work. He keeps my yard well manicured the way I have asked, and has replaced my timers and old sprinklers. Pleasant person, that seems to take pride in his work.

He is wonderful. First of all, what I really like that other landscapers didn't do, is that he pays attention to things without me having to ask him to. He brings things to my attention that I hadn't noticed before. My flowers are opening like crazy. Some gardeners just don't care about things like that. They clean up really nicely after their time and the only way you can tell you were here was that everything is blooming. They don't leave anything behind, nothing is broken, they just to a very wonderful job, I really like them. Before I had hired him, I had a valve that needed changing. I had already bought the valve but had not put it on yet. He told me he could come by earlier in the week and put it on for me. He came that day and changed it out for me and I didn't even have any service with him yet.
