Do NOT work with them! we were assigned to this repair company through our Lowe's warranty to fix our freezer. The technician they sent was extremely rude and argumentative. He took one look at the freezer and immediately decided that the warranty will not cover it just because it's in a garage. After speaking to Lowe's, we now know that it's completely not true and they already sent us a different much better company to repair it. Both technician and their office had horrible service with bad attitude. They rescheduled with us twice after the original time was set. Their a bad service made our repair time triple.

Five Star Appliance Repair Five Star Appliance Service General Appliance & insurance Service ABSOLUTELY SAME COMPANY. See attached photos. There are multiple names and phone numbers the owner created because of all the HORRIBLE reviews he has received from customers. I hope my horrible experience can at least save someone else from wasting their time with this company. I bought a fridge from Lowes, the ice maker stopped working. I called the warranty service for the fridge and they set me up with General Appliance & Insurance Service. They tried to reschedule after I had already defrosted my fridge for 48 hours. He schedules a second appt. date with an 8am-12pm window. "Mike" shows up at 2:18pm, looks at the fridge and says, "I need a kit to fix the issue". You would think they would know that from the warranty company before showing up to fix the problem. I wait another 2 weeks and defrost my fridge again for 48 hours only for Mike to show up 3 hours late again (no surprise there) and says the fridge can't be fixed because I can't take the ice maker out. I tell him there is no ice in there and that the latch has a an issue and gets stuck, but apparently he thinks that the iceberg that sunk the Titanic was in there. Mike doesn't want to work and says, "I can't do the work if I can't open it and leaves". A minute after he leaves, I pulled the ice maker out and took a photo with the time stamp on it as proof there was no ice. I called General Appliance & Insurance Service and explained what happened. They tell me he has already left and can't come back after four minutes, which makes complete sense since his mode of transportation was a private jet. She then tells me to call my warranty service provider and have them set you up with someone else. I called my warranty service provider and they set me up with a "different" company called 5 star Appliance Service. Learning from my experience, I tried calling them before they show up to tell them he needs a kit to fix the ice-maker. I tried calling them, it rang once and went to voicemail. For two days I tried calling with no response; finally on the day I am supposed to get my fridge serviced he texts me and says, "please text". I thought that was odd for a "professional" company. I texted him with my information describing my issue so he comes prepared. He replies, "We don't have a work order for you" and that he has no idea who I was. Then, a minute later sends "We rejected your work order. Please reach out to your warranty company for additional information". I called my warranty company and the supervisor tells me they rejected the work order because they said the issue was already solved. I said this "new" company CALLED " FIVE STAR APPLIANCE SERVICE" REJECTED MY WORK ORDER BECAUSE THE ISSUE WAS ALREADY SOLVED?????? How would they know that? How would a separate company know what the last company did or did not do? Then the supervisor tells me they are the same company just under different names. Apparently, the only employee for all three of these companies is Mike. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS) This review for Five Star Appliance Repair is the same company as Five Star Appliance Service and the same company as General Appliance And Insurance Service.

I knew what I needed so I got the parts myself. There was a problem and they were nice and put it back together. They replaced the seal which was a major ordeal, then the electronics panel didn't work so I ordered a new one. When I got the panel the repairman offered to come and install it for free. He didn't know if he had anything to do with that problem, those things are real touchy. I was paying for the part so he installed it and make sure it was in running order. The only down side is you are going through a contractor so you can't just call the person who came and worked on your issue, they have to call their people back. That's the only downside - it takes longer to get things accomplished, you have to call the contractor that contracted them. They are reasonable with their charges and the repairman did seem to be very knowledgeable about how to repair the washing machine. I don't have anything bad to say about them I just feel they could improve their communication so they can be working faster. They are certified to work on LGs. We had no way of knowing if the issue with the panel was his fault, no one offered to pay for the part but they did offer to install it for me.

Very happy with the technician sent out. Will definitely use again for all my appliance repair needs.
Description of Work: Set an appointment for Saturday. Mark showed up right on time. After looking over my microwave he stated that the magnetron was bad and needed replacement. Luckily, since he was a GE authorized tech, the magnetron did not cost me anything since its under an extended 10 yr manufacturers warranty. He had one on the truck and after about an hour of work he had it working just fine. Overall, Mark was great. Very polite, cleaned up after himself and answered all of my questions. Highly recommended.

My Whirpool Gold refrigerator of 18 months was over freezing so I called the warranty company for the second time (the first time this happened was 9 months before) and was given 4 different companies to call. After checking Angie's List, I found the first 3 were rated "F" and the 4th one was given an "A" rating (only one review) back in 2009 so I called them on Monday, 7-25-11 and was told someone could be out on Wednesday, 7-27-11. I asked if there was an earlier appointment and was told no. I later received a call from Michael stating Mark could come out on Tuesday, 7-26-11. I was very happy and began to believe the sole "A" rating in 2009 was accurate. When Mark arrived he was in my house no longer than 5 minutes and said the problem was the control board. During this time it was discovered the refrigerator section was not cooling and the contents were beginning to get warm so I asked when it could be repaired and he said he needed to order the part and it would take 3-5 days to receive it. I let Mark know that was unacceptable as I have a mother with Alzheimer's/dementia and a father recovering from a broken hip. He repeated himself and said 3-5 days and left my home. I was shocked and appalled by his lack of compassion or interest in my situation. I immediately called the Lowe's warranty company and spoke to Noel, a representative, who stated the same thing - 3-5 days to receive the part so I asked to speak with the supervisor (Christy) who also stated the same thing 3-5 days to receive the part. I was also told I needed to wait 72 hours before I could get a rental refrigerator which totally blew my mind. My sister and I were constantly on the telephone with the warranty company for the next few days speaking to Claudia and Davey trying to get my parts expedited faster until I could not take it anymore. My sister took over and began calling the warranty company to discover that the part for the refrigerator was out of state and Christy (supervisor) would request for next day delivery. We learned that the part was ordered late on Wednesday , 7-27-11 in the afternoon. To date, August 2, 2011, I have been without a refrigerator for 8 days. During this past week my sister and I went to Lowe's on Thursday,, 7-28-11 where I purchased the refrigerator and they were very sorry for what we were going through and immediately took us to the appliance department where we selected a loaner refrigerator (at no cost to us) which was delivered within the next few hours. It had already been three days since the problem began and the full contents in my refrigerator and freezer were destroyed but at least I was able to get replacement foods needed for my parents. Lowe's has intervened on our behalf with the warranty company and told General Appliance & Insurance Services how dissatisfied they were with the service we received. I then received a phone call from the warranty department on Wednesday, August 3rd and was told by Shane that if the part was not in by Thursday, August 4th by 1:00 p.m. they would issue a return authorization for me to get a new refrigerator. I received a call on Thursday, August 4th at 3:00 p m. stating that the part(s) were in and that someone would be out to fix my refrigerator on Firday, August 5th between 8-11 a.m. I let them know that was not convenient as I needed a more exact time frame due to the scheduled meals and medication I need to give my Mom. I was told by Michael from General Appliance & Insurance Services that Mark would be out at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, August 5th. I waited and waited and Mark showed up at 9:40 a.m. and he was a rude, condescending individual who consistently took phone calls speaking in a foreign language while trying to fix my refrigerator. I asked him how many parts were to be replaced and he said two; the thermastat and the control board. I let him know along with the warranty company that I had pulled the plug on the refrigerator on Wednesday, July 27th as there was a burning smell and water was leaking on my kitchen floor and that both the refrigerator and freezer were not working and would these parts fix the problem. He said the refrigerator and freezer are not separate from each other they are connected. He then began to unscrew the freezer section and putting the screws in his tool box so I got a cup to put them in. I was concerned that these screws would get mixed up with other things in his tool box and he made a comment of saying "I hope that I will be able to fit the screws back in there proper place". I asked Mark why it took so long for the parts to arrive and he said it was back ordered. I let him know that no one had contacted me regarding the status and he said that has nothing to do with him it is the problem of the warranty company. I asked him when the parts arrived and he said I don't know you need to contact the warranty company. I then asked him if he could show me how to clean the filter area of the refrigerator and he said "just go and buy a brush but you better be careful because if you do it wrong and break something it will be your problem". I asked him if he could clean it for me and he said "no". I do not have a vacuum cleaner or brush and If I did it would cost you $150.00 for me to do it. He also said the next thing that will break will be the compressor since they usually last for 5 years. At this point, I wanted him to finish the job and leave. I remained somewhat composed but was raging mad at the less than professional manners this person exhibited. My sister and I went to the store where I purchased my refrigerator and was told that a full report would go to the manager of the warranty company and that General Appliance & Insurance Services would also get a full report of the dissatisfaction I received during these horrible 10 days waiting for parts to be ordered for my refrigerator. I let the store know that I had not received any updates from the warranty company nor from General Appliance & Insurance Services. I do want to comment on the wonderful, wonderful people at Lowe's in Burbank, California who went out of there way to help my sister and I during this difficult situation by getting a replacement refrigerator to us ASAP.
Description of Work: The services performed on my refrigerator was as follows: replace thermastat replace control board I called for service on 7-26-11, Mark came out of 7-27-11, the parts were to be expedited over night delivery. The parts were ordered late Wednesday, 7-27-11 and I was contacted on Thursday, 8-4-11 at 3:00 p.m. that they had arrived and someone would be out on Friday, 8-5-11 by 8:30 a.m. Mark did not show up until 9:40 a.m.. He was very unprofessional and condescending and quit annoyed during the time he was in my home. I asked him if he would clean the filter of my refrigerator and he told me it would cost me $150.00 and for me to go and buy a brush and do it myself. After removing the old thermastat from the bottom of the refrigerator he left it in the bottom and took the new one out. While asking him some questions, he threw the new thermastat where the old one was laying and then said, I hope I pick up the right one. I could not wait for him to finish and leave my home.

I chose this company because they had the lowest service call fee out of 8 companies that I called ($49.95). They came out the next day. Their technician called 30 min before as requested and showed up right on time. After about 10 minutes he informed me that the coils on my unit were bad and it would be $89.99 to replace them. I thought that the price was very reasonable and told him to go ahead. After about 20 minutes the job was done and the unit was functioning fine. Overall, I though he did a great job, cleaned up after himself, was fast and efficient. I would defiantly use them again and recommend to all my friends and family.
