The washer started leaking water yesterday and I called an appliance repairman. He advised me the washer is shot and he has seen this several times in the last few years with Maytags. The machine has a 10 year warranty but when I called Caston's they said the only way I could use the warranty was with the card they gave me when I bought it. I had the receipt and all the original paperwork in a bag but there was no warranty card. Caston's said they could not help me without that card. I insisted the model & serial number should be good enough for warranty service but when I gave them the numbers they said they didn't exist in their system. Then they said I was mistaken and did not buy them at Caston's. I supplied them with the date, time, amount, and name of the salesman but they insisted I was wrong. They claimed my name, phone number, and address did not show up in their system either. I bought the set at Caston's to support small businesses within our Valley so I was POSITIVE where I shopped. They refused to honor the warranty and I bought a new washer at Sears today. I can't believe I can spend 1,400.00 on a washer and dryer and have the washer last 4 years. I also can't believe I can spend 1,400.00 in a store and be told I am not "in the system".
Description of Work: I bought a Maytag washer and dryer set in 2006 for $1,400.00. It was delivered on time and with no problems. I paid cash for the set.

THEY CALLED, AND GAVE ME A 3 HOUR WINDOW WHEN THEY WOULD ARRIVE. THEY CAME within THAT TIME FRAME. SERVICE WAS FINE, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
