Southland Heating and A/C was one of the companies we contacted to install a new furnace, a new A/C unit, and new ducts. Matt Alba was prompt in his response to us, came over within a day or two, and explained every aspect of the job--the equipment, the work needed, the rebates available, all financing options, and answered all our questions thoroughly and candidly. The estimate he provided was the lowest, but we really chose Southland because of Matt's professionalism. All the work was completed in one day, and Southland's team of installers (Rudy, Willie, Joe, George, Abraham, Fabian) was as thorough and professional as Matt. They consulted with us on every aspect, and really did a great job. We couldn't be happier. This is a great company, and we recommend them without reservation.

Ray, the owner, came out for a consultation and was very professional from the start. He was knowledgeable about all the products I inquired about and offered me lots of information so that I could make the best decision for my situation. I settled on a Trane heat pump and the installation was made 3 days later. The installers, Rudy and Vince, were fantastic. They were extremely professional, very knowledgeable, and answered every single question and concern I had. I had a leak in the previous heat pump unit and the air flow in the house was inadequate. Rudy was able to figure out the issues and was very thorough with his inspection and installation. Truth be told, Southland Heating and Air was the only estimate I got for the new Trane heat pump unit. After meeting with Ray, I had such a good feeling that I cancelled two other estimates. Their price and professionalism made me feel like I didn't need to go with anyone else. I am 1000% certain I made the right decision. I am so very happy I went with Southland Heating and Air. I would recommend them to anyone looking for any heating and air conditioning needs. Be sure to meet with Ray and have Rudy and Vince do the installation (although I am sure all of their installers are great).

We own a home built in 1957 that had no AC, an old FAU, and ducting wrapped in asbestos. We had about 5 or more quotes from other companies on Angie's List and Southland not only beat those quotes by 5k, but their work was excellent. They had the asbestos removed in a few hours and I didn't even have to leave the house. The HVAC was installed the next day in a matter of hours by a crew of guys who were extremely polite, punctual, and efficient. My new HVAC system is absolutely amazing, my house heats and cools off in minutes and the whole home air filter provides a huge difference in my air quality and even how the air smells when the heater is on. The most impressive issue by far, however, was the owner himself (Ray Mendoza).When Ray came over to do the quote he was completely and totally honest. When he was explaining things to me, I purposely played dumb, asked a lot of questions, and gave him plenty of opportunities to upsell me and never once did he try. He was totally honest about what I needed and never once took a chance at making more money. I had other companies try to sell me HVAC units that were too big for my house or high efficiency equipment that my climate zone didn't need. This told me that Ray and his company care more helping the home owner, then making more money. If you need HVAC, don't waste your time with any other company.

Jake tried diligently to replace my old unit. He thoroughly explained why it was impossible. He and his colleague were on time, courteous and professional in every way.

They are wonderful! All of the technicians know their business. They are just so wonderful overall. They had to take out my old furnace which was really old. They didn't break anything in the process, and they left everything clean. Everyone was so careful of the things in my house, I was very delighted. I'm so happy I found them! They have the best customer service as well! If you have a problem, you call them up, and it is instantly corrected. Everyone with the company is excellent!

Was the only knowledgeable technician out of 3 suppliers that was able to diagnosr the issue to a particular part, actually drove all the way to Chatswort to get the new part and instgalled it. Took pictures befoer and after the tuneup to demonstarte rthe clean burning of the gas flow after tuning the proper gas pressure.

They had six guys here who worked all day until they were done. They cleaned up after themselves. They were very professional and got the work done in one day.

Ray came to the house and actually sat down and described exactly what the service would include, where the ducts and heater would go, how long it would take and all the other little details that other estimators did not give me. The company also provided two year, interest free financing, which was the closer. Their crew was very professional, friendly and careful. They left everything in good working order and the house spotlessly clean. They were not the cheap bid, but proved the old adage that you get what you pay for. Would highly recommend their services.

Matt the salesperson was punctual and personable. He worked with us to provide everthing we asked for ( proof of documents, options on brands of units, etc.). He was ultimately able to offer us a very competative price. There were delays the day of installation ( evidentally what was there before was more complicated than anticipated ) but the installer had a good attitude and worked into the night in order not to leave us without air conditioning during the hotest week of the year. It would have been better if there had been two workers rather than just the one person so it could have been completed earlier in the day. Ron the operations manager was always available for phone calls the day of install for my concerns and questions. All in all I'm glad the unit is in place and that the process is behind us. Now just cool air and a better electrical bill in the future.

We bought the $40 deal for an air conditioning diagnostic. The deal guaranteed that they would get in touch with us to schedule the service within 48 hours. We needed the service ASAP and sent two emails and left two voice mails for the vendor within those 48 hours and never heard back. The vendor was non responsive.

Trust the reviews, Southland is top notch. Matt was very thorough he provided me several options for what I could do. Not once did I ever feel he was trying to "up-sale" me on service/equipment I did not need. He was honest straight forward and to the point. Southland has employees that are honest and totally trust worthy! I needed a complete AC/Heating unit, hoses, vents….EVERYTHING. it was an investment that has paid off already (approx. 11K). Southland pricing is very competitive and fair. Again, he never tried to oversell me on something I didn't need. and most importantly, professional. It's also his attention to detail, walked the home making notes, and by the shoe covers, which impressed me most. I had a couple of companies provide me estimates. Southland stood out from the start. I highly recommend them! Fantastic phone etiquette. Matt is clear, straight forward, and has very neat handwriting. Professional and down to earth. When Matt arrived at my home to take a look in the attic to see the furnace and all the rooms to measure the vents it was already at 6pm. I was expecting someone eager to go home. However, Matt was the opposite. He was thorough and didn't seemed rushed at all. He moved around the house in a respectful manner, very careful to not move anything out of place. I'm pretty sure he even wiped clean the cobwebs off the ceiling corner of my bathroom. He quoted more than one option and provided a reasonable rationale for each, in such a way I understood. Matt didn't try to impress with too many jargon to sound more technical. He seemed to genuinely want me to know and learn about what the problems were and the options for how it could be fixed, within the price range I could afford. He made me feel comfortable to ask anything and to verbalize my main concern (money). We were able to get the AC brand we wanted and researched (Lennox.com) for a price we could afford. I am VERY VERY grateful for that. Compared to other companies, Matt really stood out. I wasn't made to leave a voicemail. I wasn't made to wait days to get a call back or an initial appt. I didn't have to have my husband present to make a decision as one competitor required. The crew Matt sent to my home on 4th of July weekend to do the install was lead by Martin. Martin and his team were as respectful and as professional as Matt. Martin and his team, listened to our concerns and delivered products and services that met our needs and expectations. They did a CLEAN JOB and were pleasant conversationalists with a good sense of humor. Before this weekend, the temperature had been running well into 90's in my house. Having to stay at home due to lack of work, you can imagine how uncomfortable I have been for several months without a functional AC unit. It is my pleasure to write this review at a comfy indoor temp of 75 degrees.

The install went well. They had to get a crane out to our lacation to get the unit to the roof. I was a little nervous that it was going to fall off the crane and come crashing through our condo but it didn't. The people were friendly and they took time at the end to show us how to work the thermostat and gave us a few other pointers. Matt was kind enough to follow up with a us and we really appreciated that. We have recamended them to family and frinds and I would definitely recommend them to you! One last thing is that our electric bill has gone down to approximately 1/3 of what it used to cost us so the switch will eventually pay for itself.

I would like to thank Southland for their honest services. I had called out a few local vendors who were trying to just sell me a new system, without even looking at the problem. I new that I had an old system and should have replaced it many years ago, however it could not afford it at the time. Their tech showed up on time, had a very professional appearance. He looked over my system and actually gave me repair options. Although I was very tempted to just repair, I ultimately decided to replace my system. I new that spending $450 might last me this summer, but there was no guarantee and all I have read is that this year could be the hottest yet. After giving me his repair options, I told him that I would like to consider a new system. He called the office and requested that the owner of the business come out and personally quote this job, I thought that was a great jester. The last company that came out, simply sent out a salesman that had no clue, except that he was trying to sell me a 16K system and if I signed on the spot he would discount it 2K, He actually told me that If I decided to wait the price would go up, It felt like I was buying a used car!!! I hate to say it but it was one of those big box places, they got my name as I was leaving their warehouse. It took them 7 days to get back to me and than drilled me to see if I could afford their system, than finally a week later a guy smelling like cigarettes shows up looking very sloppy, he looked like he had spent the night drinking. I could not get him out fast enough, than his office called and I told them my experience and they insisted on sending someone else out.......Ya right!! Ray, the owner showed up in time. Went over a few options, he new that I was on a budget and I could tell that he understood my situation. He explained everything so clear that I felt like an expert after he finished. He made it clear that I did not have to sign up now, like the last company had done, and to take a few days to consider his proposal. I told him that I did not need more time and wanted to schedule it as soon as possible. His crew arrived on time, covered everything in the house. Ray had mentioned that it would only take a day to complete, but I was expecting 2 days. About 4 o'clock the foreman came to me and told me that they were done, he walked me around the installation and explained to me how to use the touchpad thermostat. He even had it connected to my internet so that I could control it for my phone.....WOW !!!! I cant say enough about that company, they really know the business and know how to treat customers the old way.... Thanks Ray

The week of the dreaded Santa Anna winds and a heavy heat wave the ac unit seized. We reached out to www.SouthlandAC.com and where greeted with a call by a gentleman named Ray. The Consulataion: Ray came that evening and went over a bunch of different options, you see we live in a attached condo area , we have a baby so the noise that comes from the unit is consistantly very noisy as the sound reverberates off the walls waking the baby and the neighbors. Ray had a recommended a special unit for this that Lennox makes that is extremely quiet and efficient. We also voiced our concerns about the uneven cooling that we get upstairs (our master faces southwest). Ray inspected the ductwork and didn't try to sell us duct work. Instead he had a great solution adding whats called a damper. he explained the way a duct works on a drawing so both me and my husband completely understood how the whole system works. Ray left us a price and my husband and I felt it was fair, we got one other bid (Big Box Retailer and found that it was just a sales man that came and spent 5 minutes didn't ask any questions and left). We felt the value in ray and put our money and faith in him. Ray secured a deposit the next day and came the following day with 4 installers and equipment. The install: The guys got here at 8 am, they worked their butts off and were so polite. They covered the carpets and worked diligently through the day about 6 pm rolled around my husband just got home from work and waaaaallllllahhhh..... Its cold in here :) we were so impressed by the lennox unit that Ray had directed us too. They also installed a new thermostat w WiFi so our Ipads and i phones worked with it. they cleaned up and took all the old furnace and outdoor unit with them. Ray stopped by at the end of the day and walked us through the thermostat. The Conclusion We are happy that we chose Southland and would recommend to our friends and family. The new unit in the attic is so quiet and so is the outdoor unit. we are very happy with our new Lennox System! Thanks Southland and Ray Alba
